It never is safe as things left in save as garbage. Maybe if carefully delete all DD references from save will be better. But if this save work without deleting, then fine. After deactivating mod - all old items stay in game and appears after activated again and can be broken.

Some experimentation lead to interesting results.

I found a way to trigger the Devious Devices issue on purpose: I recently added a patch mod for Diamond City Expansion, by Exoclyps on Nexus. It added a couple of clothing items, of which I picked up one, and stored it in a trunk in Home Plate. Even simply interacting with the container that item is stored in is enough for the DD boots to stop working. There doesn't seem to be any connection between the items, at least that I can see with xEdit. But the items are missing many characteristics and keywords that other clothes have, which I think, in all my ignorance, might be the issue.

Ths is a very recently added mod, which means I also must have another such item somewhere in my load order that triggered the issue the first time. I'll cross that bridge when I get there, but at least I have a probable cause.

Even after the hard reset of both DD and Latex Collar mod, the same Papyrus messages regarding Devious Devices still appear, even though everything seems to be working as it should...is that stuff that remained after I disabled the mods?

After disable the mod all stuff in game disappear, but in save remains. It can lead to papyrus errors as missing keywords and properties. If you enable mod again, those items will show up in game in places, where was left.

You may want to consider using ReSaver (Nexus). It will let you purge mods from a save and find/remove unattached script instances that are left running after a mod has been removed.

I also read plenty of horror stories about it. I've used it once, though, on another save that apparently had no ill effects.

I'm having a problem with devious devices that were not properly removed from the body. Some items remove to be worn with messages that they conflict with other devices, or "your plug is stimulating you" despite not device equipped at all.

Is there any mod or command I can use to see what devices the games thinks are equipped, something to remove all items supposedly equipped or even a command rebuild or fix the list of devices the game thinks are equipped?

Is there any mod or command I can use to see what devices the games thinks are equipped, something to remove all items supposedly equipped or even a command rebuild or fix the list of devices the game thinks are equipped?

Simplifying.

Some mod screwed up adding or removing DD at some point.

Now, for example, I try to equip a sneaker (in this case, "[33] ASA Sneakers, Black" from absolutely skimpy attires) and the system refuses whit a message stating "Leg restraints prevents dressing up", despite the fact that there is no leg restraint in my inventory.

So, how can I find out why this is happening and how to fix it?

I recently had a similar issue, with DD heels not quite working as they should. The only solution I found was to simply disable DD, save the game, and reenable the mod.

That comes with risks, of course, because Fallout 4 doesn't really like it when people remove mods from the save, but I took the risk, since this is not my main save. I don't really think there's a way to reset Devious Devices' quest.

If you don't want the nuclear option, I guess you can try "dispellallspells" console command. But that doesn't remove "worn" effects, so it might not work because the effect is connected to a clothing item. You could also use "inv" while in the console with your character selected. It will show all the items you have, even some that might not show on the pip-boy. There might be some DD related thing there.

Alternatively, you could search inside the mod with xEdit and find all the possible spells related to leg restraints and disable each of them in-game until you find the one that's lingering. But I don't know how the mod's scripts work, so I'm not sure if that will fix the problem.

DD 2.0 is not compatible with RC9. RC9 is a complete replacement.

That list is actually useless for trouble shooting. What is needed is the actual Plugins.txt, which shows the currently installed mods in their exact load order.

With DD disabled, but RC Cursed DD still active, DD will be loaded anyway, because its a master of RC Cursed.

Strange, i not tested RC cursed, but it should work with RC9, so problem seems is another patch, what possibly rewrites DD scripts. And removing RC cursed stops problem, because then DD is deactivated.

Too complicated mod list? If DD can't detect AAF, that means some of quest not initialized properly and variables not loaded.

First try. 'bought stuff from Kimy. I play a male PC and your material seems to apply only to myself, not my female companion.
Is that so?
Which suprises me as you're saying somewhere as an exemple "if Preston pisses me off, I can just shut him off with one of your DD pieces"...
Which seems to be meaning I could choose to use it on anybody else...

You may want this too if you're playing a male, I assume it works with rc9

Things should work with the females in-game better than males, but the engine doesn't like you using things that restrain their movement and it may get buggy with gags and etc.

I don't really use it with males, I just remembered it existed.

I don't really use it with males, I just remembered it existed.

I've used the gags on Preston and Piper for a while, doesn't seem to create any issues. Even Piper's quest was delayed (she tried to talk to me but couldn't 😈) and when the gag was removed she initiated that dialogue with no ill effects.

That having been said, playing through main story quests with restrained and gagged followers might not be the best choice.

Hello. There seem to be some Bodies missing. I mean in bodyslide section. In game I get items that don't exist in bodyslide so I can't morph them and the don't match my body. Could you please give me a hand? I'm using RC9

And it also comes with BodySlide files for CBBE that makes them fit.

I'll try Kziiitd toolset then I gues. The screenshot is the describe, i was hoping it to be... Anyway, the problem is that they poot that bdsm straps on me and they don't match my bodyslide preset. This one goes inside the body. Hand straps go further, they change the whole body. And as you can see I ain't have them in bodyslide for some reason, just the same way I didn't have the dimond city guard armor and had to download it
