Relationship Dialogue System (03/10/2021)

Hello Guffel.  I really wanted this to work. I'm using AFT and got the initial "Be friends" dialog. After that, my follower is continually interrupting me by displaying the AFT dialogue, which I'm not sure what to do with as there are no new "lines".  I can't play with this (AFT) menu constantly popping up every 2-4 seconds, so I guess I have to take the mod out.  Just wanted to bring it to your attention. Thank you though, I'm sure others aren't having this problem.

I think what happens is that the AI package from this mod makes the force greet happen, but then AFT dialogue blocks the option from this mod. This is not any clue for how to solve the problem, but I see a similar thing happen where people try to force greet for this mod, but have to go through some different dialogue first.

Could you upload your Files for me? I tried to get it working but only the Approaches work, i cannot initiate Dialogue with NPC`s the Option doesn´t show up, i tried regenerate the SEQ file but didnt helped either.

IDK, but I got the RDS "howdy" via the AFT dialogue, so I'm not sure why others RDS lines wouldn't work as well. Because followers are NPC's, perhaps Guffel should look into this problem. Hopefully there's a work-around as AFT is a pretty popular follower mod. Guess we'll see.

Well approach is currently very hard to setup, need to get the unofficial version from japenese modders, translated with automatic dictionary... I tried to make it work, and it never worked, I was never approached. I might have not taken the right file from the thread, I don't know, + you have a chance that the mod fails its initialization and never appears in the mcm, in this case you have either to uninstall it and clean the save, or restart from a save before the installation... tedious to say the least ! Then I discovered RDS (someone talked about it in the approach thread). And rds has no such problem, you activate it, and it works ! Ok, it would be more fun with more possibilities in the dialogues, but it's already much better than approach for me ! :)

After some time using this mod : very good. The dialogue choices look quite primitive first so you need some time to get used to it, but after a while it can be quite excellent to charm some npcs especially if you use some mods which give some benefits when you improve the relationship rank (like "trade and barter"). I charmed Belethor to get better prices from him !

I needed to go to Mzinchaleft for a crossbow plan, so I charmed Mjoll first to enrol her and get her sword with her while I was getting these plans, it was fun.

+ you can easily turn it off in the mcm when you don't want npcs to come to you all the time, and re-enable it later.

The only thing which could be fun to add would be the possibility for npcs to talk to each other, it would probably not be trivial to do but it could be fun ! Too bad the mod seems abandoned... Anyway very good mod, thanks ! :)

I am using this on Skyrim Special Edition. And things seem to work so far except I dont get the option of "Hi there, Do you want to chat" like in my Oldrim playthrough. Has anyone found a fix for this?

This is odd, RDS is basically just a big dialogue tree, it should work in SE. Have you tried it on a new game? Or on a new game with just the essentials for RDS installed?

They are really good. I just hope that you build and release one at a time, because it's very ambitious and I worry if you try it all at once we will never get an update :).

 

One small suggestion I have - it would be good if there is a reason to be mean to NPCs. Right now if an NPC is rude to you, you can just do apologize/ prude over and over and usually this defuses the situation. But I want to mock or insult NPCs who say rude things. So I wonder if you could make it so that dialogue choices affect reputation a small amount in the following way: If NPC is being aggressive and sexual, you get some small reputation penalty if you don't respond in a scolding, mocking, or insulting way, since you don't stand up for yourself. If non-partner NPC is being flirty, maybe you get a smaller penalty if you don't respond with prude or an insult, since you get a reputation for being flirty.

 

Anyway just a suggestion. Also you could set up the behaviour/personalities with a dynamic that some are more "likeable" but don't preserve your personality as much.

I've used this mod in my load order since it came out and loved it because it provided an extra step of immersion.

 

I've been waiting for a mod to introduce actual courtship with average NPCs since I started modding skyrim and your future plans look very ambitious! Definitely looking forward to the updates you make to this mod. ?

I like your idea of giving a reputation penalty for being "easy to get" I'll take it into the plans. 

But actually you can be insulting to rude NPC at the moment already. It results in a worse relationship or even a brawl, but I think you mean, you want a necessity to behave like this?

 

 

Generally I feel rather confident about the future plans, but the idea to make single releases of it might be a good one! Especially for debugging^^
I have already tested the relationship part in a private mod, called "Bad Boyfriend", in which a female PC falls in love with a boastful looser who basically uses emotional blackmail to live off her. Lending money, being let out of prison, getting meals cooked and of course fun in the bedroom.
So I can use that as a template and design RDS in a similar way^^ 

 

The dialogue changes are technically simple, but a lot of writing work. That will be the worst part.

 

Please don't use the long time from the last update as any kind of measure^^ I had basically quitted modding and didn't work on the update all the time. I had played so much Skyrim that I was tired of it and I tended to other hobbies. But eventually I missed modding and wanted to come back. Also Skyrim spoiled me for other games and I couldn't stop thinking of adding sexual situations into everything... ? Skyrim with full graphic mods look better than a lot of modern games anyway^^

 

My plan is to start somewhere around February/March and have everything released around June/July. That gives a 3 - 4 month time window. After every update I plan to do the troubleshooting and bug-fixing first, before starting the next one. That should also reduce the time needed.

Yes exactly, some necessity of "trade off". Because now for RP reasons I could be rude, but it would be good to get some benefit for being rude, and/or penalty for not being rude. For example, slaver character approaches me and starts threatening me for no reason, it would be good if there's a "game mechanic" reason for me not to just apologize to him a lot.

This honestly sounds good enough by itself to be its own mod.

Hello! I'm enjoying the mod, however I have a problem.

 

I play as a male character, and when sex is initialized I get placed in female role, how do I fix this without constantly hitting the "=" key?

next update rename the esp to just be SexLab RelationshipDialougeSystem. putting the version in the name is never good.

also might want to add code for using sexlab gender instead of ck gender. right now it dont see a herm as a male so it wants to always put u in the female spot and the other female in male spot.

1. Did I really do that? I agree that not good, must have slipped... ?

2. good idea. I'll have a look at how to make a condition on the SL gender ?

I checked the scripts and there is a gender check in place right now for vanilla gender. But I suspect that not all animation tread slot 1 as female slot.

I'll resort to the sexlab gender for the next updates.

There you find the NPCs details listed and you can change everything. After that the dialogue will restart with the new values.

Thank you. I see. But to be honest, I don't think it's necessary to change the personality of NPC. I have roughly tested four or five female NPCs. I've been fucked without exception. It's really a bad experience.

To be exact, I've been raped by a female NPC all the time.
