Would you say that it insists on itself?

Not quite. However, I do think I know what Peter meant when he said that. In my opinion, The Godfather took itself way too seriously. I swear, the entire time I was watching it, I was thinking to myself, "Geez, dial it back a little. This isn't a freaking Shakespeare play." Despite that, my biggest issue with the movie was that it felt like it just dragged on. Now, I wasn't expecting a full-on "mob movie." If I wanted that, I would go and watch movies like GoodFellas or Scarface, both movies I absolutely love. Though it is a mob movie, The Godfather is more of a drama with mob elements, which is how my girlfriend described it, and I find that very accurate. However, I feel like they could have cut an hour out of the movie's runtime, and that would have helped the movie feel like it wasn't moving in slow motion.

I understand why The Godfather is beloved, but I couldn't get into it. I had to take a break 3 times because I found myself dissociating while watching it. I was that bored.

You have a point because I would probably die having a blast doing at least three or those things. :P

The key of life
Symbolizes the map
Of existence.

From all resistance,
Your path will become white -
For the remainder of the distance.

"Uppercase letters are called that because they could be found in the upper drawer of a printing press, lowercase could be found in the lower case of the printing press."

"The term 'bug' in computing has been around for a long time. The term was not commonly used until an actual bug landed on an electrical switch, causing the computer to malfunction. The term bug grew in popularity afterward and landed us where we are today. Also, when we find a bug in software, we apply a 'patch.' This comes from old cardex/punch card systems. If a punch card was punched in the wrong spot, you could fix it by applying a patch to the hole."

There are times I read a story that is well written with a satisfying ending and then the publisher or writer is like: “We’re going to continue or reboot the series.”

And I’m like: “Nu Uh!”

And they’re like: “Uh Huh!”

So they publish the book that I don’t buy. Fuck you capitalism😀

I think I kind of understand why my friend doesn't like Halloween. He described Halloween as just another Comic Con. And instead of embracing the spookiness of the season kids are dressed up as Mario. If they weren't kids I'd think they were the Italian plumber I hired to clean out my shower drain.

Well. At the end of the day we can't take holidays too seriously. Besides everybody celebrates them differently so do whatever.

Someone told me that I look like a redheaded Taylor Swift. I still don't know if that was an insult or not.

Well she is quite the looker so I would say compliment. As long as you don't sing like Taylor Swift you'll be fine. Although if you do plan on singing about the guy (or girl) you broke up with at least write it yourself. I've heard Taylor doesn't even do that.:classic_huh:

Fair point on the appearance part.

I was in choir class when I was in middle school, and my teacher told me that I had a beautiful voice. However, I’m more of a scholar than a singer. Even then, I wouldn’t write cheesy break-up songs.

I don't know about that. They keep finding new ways to botch something that should have been a sure bet.

I think the fact that it's a recent Marvel Studios IP and I've never heard of it nor seen ads for it speaks more about its quality than anything else.

It is just another reason for people to party. At the same time it can lead to unwanted stress and anxiety e.g. getting other people presents, buying food, buying candy, decorations, etc. and so on. But people clearly do like it or else they wouldn't be celebrating. Like I said in my post before:

Humans do have some weird holidays though. Like the one where the dad invites all his drunk friends to party, drink and watch football all because of some bump on a fetus's crotch you see during an ultrasound. Why they can't do a simple baby shower is beyond me.

do whatever.
