No Man' Sky

The game definitely has potential and I will probably pick it up when it's cheaper but as of right now the price is unacceptable for what is being sold. However, if this game has even half of the potential for mods that Skyrim or Fallout have then this game could be great in the future and not even need the devs to fix it (although they definitely should). Even now some of the mods relating to space seem really cool and make at least space travel look and feel a whole lot better.

Mods definitely necessary. No Man's Sky is just beautiful, visually amazing. And SO BLOODY EMPTY. After I got the blaster upgrade I went around killing everything on three different planets for lack of anything better to do.

Somehow at the start I thought, hmm, this seems a bit like Dark Souls or Skyrim. Do what you want however you want wherever you want, with a simple and bare-bones storyline... then you finish it and get to the end and find that the cake is a fucking lie. OH GOD MAKE IT STOP!

So now I'm doing a rerun of No Man's Sky, under strict control conditions. I only play it during the weekends when I'm stoned. Then it's suitably trippy, and I'm in the right frame of mind to kill a few hours.

18 Trillion planets wide, 1 inch deep ... and no Steam refused me a refund with 30 hours in 3 days after I got it. I had hoped it got deeper as you got away from the starting planets but alas that is not the case.  Technically the planets may be unique, but there is a sameness to them especially within systems.

Glad i was never interested in this garbage. The game's Steam page is still using the older videos showcasing features NOT in the game in order to still sell it.

Hello Games have actually outdone Ubisoft in the lying sector.

At least Ubisoft advertised features that were actually in the fucking game.

They didn't ubisoft down the graphics though.

I have no idea what you just said but if you're saying No Man's Sky DIDN'T down their graphics you're wrong. In the game I'm on the highest graphics setting and I can quite clearly see textures compressed to hell, seams and parts where textures fold in on themselves.

I love the game, and the mods coming out for it make it even better. In the 3 weeks it's been out, I've put more time into playing than I have into playing Oblivion in the last 3 months (mostly due to modding issues in Oblivion).  I don't plan on making mods for NMS, but it adds flavor.

The best thing is that I wasn't even disappointed after playing this game. I've already expected a very underwhelming experience and the game delivered. It's still probably one of the worst games I've ever played in the recent 15+ years.

A lot of people hated Mass Effect's planet scanning, which was relatively easy to do, and this game is all about planet scanning... in first person... :)

Well i am one of those that bought this game. After playing for like 10 hours i realised i just kept doing the same things over and over again and got bored of it.

It was a fun game while it lasted. But it wasn't anywhere near worth the 60 bucks i paid for it, and it wasn't anywhere near what they said it would be.

No Man Sky is as vast as a ocean but as deep as a puddle. Best way i can describe it. A shame really...

played about 20 hours into it, got to the center, found out the center was just new game+.

Steam wouldn't give a refund even after I talked with customer service, uninstalled and removed from my account, still hate how bare bones of a game it was.  At least in games like Elite, or Eve, or really any other game you can go off and do something else if you get bored of doing something.  NMS? you only go to planets to get resources to make hyperdrive fuel to go to planets to get resources to make hyperdrive fuel to go to planets to make hyperdrive fuel to go to planets to get resources- AD INFINITUM.

you there is no reason to upgrade to a larger ship, to get a better multi-tool, or even upgrade your suit. there is no reason to even buy stuff from the market. The only thing you have to do is land on a planet, mine the VAST SUPPLY OF SPACESHIP FUEL and take off again.
