Payday 2 or Verdun on the Squad Defense mode are pretty good.

No matter how good I am, when I hop onto a competitive solo game, it's almost certain someones going to curb stomp me. Cooperative gameplay removes a bit of that salt.

Cooperative competitive is my preferred style though.

haven't had much experience in co-op games other than playing LoL with my friends through Skype many eons ago...other than that, I have played console games like Hunted: The Demon's Forge and some Resident Evil Titles showing co-op mechanic...Helldivers as well...so I would prefer to play more co-op games...it's just too tiring to see the plethora of FPS shooters,MOBA, Moba Shooters etc. where you just kill another person's toon over and over again and get a boost to your ego...I would like to see more games where you and a human friend work together to survive in the game environment elating in both your success through team work and coordination...

it's PVP or PVE...I wish there were more P&PVW (player and player vs. world)

I like both as long as players are cool. Fucking around or trolling each other is cool, but I hate playing with super serious people who are completely non-interactive and have nothing to say other than "gg" or "fukc ur gay mom". I might as well play with bots.

TERA Online in PVE was fun, or I simply got lucky and met the right people.

Co-op. My real life is competetive enough. :P

And I don't like the general attitude of most of the PvPers anyway. Being a good PvPer tends to go to their heads, and they start being a dick. Seriously, five minutes of PvP chat in a lobby make me think, if I was their mom I'd slap them left and right until a little brain gets into their heads. :D

PvP can be nice with people who don't take it too serious, though. But I still prefer playing together instead of against each other.

Preach... This is also one of the reasons why I choose Co-Op

Neither.  I prefer single player, story-driven games.

I prefer this over both the options of the thread. But the thread op didn't give that choice. /shrug

Co-op if game allows it. I have said "fuck competitve games" since.. I don't even remember but i liked the time when say: shooting things was fun without tryharding.

Co-op.  Nothing like a shared interest among people who A. Understand and B. Give a shit.  That's hard to come by!

Co-op if the game allows you to just drop in and join another players game or have them join you (dying light, dead island for example), do a bit with them then drop out and go solo, if the game does not then neither as I do not like pvp at all, I freely admit I am crap at pvp, but never liked it much so never really bothered getting better in any game.

Why not competitive co-op? I like co-op more, it's fun and challenging to work as a team. And competitive co-op is even more fun, I used to play a lot of Arma 2 and Arma AA and do massive military sim engagement with other clans and those are probably the best gaming experiences I've ever had.

Definitely more on the co-op side though, I never really got into solo competition gaming.

Same for me. I wouldn't mind some PvP, but I can do without the toxic atmosphere that seems to be an inevitable part of it.

I personally favor competitive environments. EoS-esque games especially, though I have played certain other types of games that included PvP as a major part.

You are very much correct in saying that the community for such games is toxic in almost every case. Not all of them, though.

Coop since I was a kid. I enjoy PvP fps games but no matter what the genre is - I will play it in coop if there's one present. I do competitive coop as well, in HoTS for example.
