Yes for sure. Working as intended. Basically you've been a really really bad girl. You managed to not report in, then be out there in the wilds long enough to reach the max of 90%. You should not expect to be able to ride a horse at all

OK, I can see the merits of that

 

So how about an alternative to messing about with all the settings etc?

 

Just make the report back period a variable, ie 10/15/20/25/30 days, locked after each rebirth?​  It is variable between 1-10 days set by the player.  Are 10 days not enough, or were you unaware that you had up to 10 days?

 

 

MCM already has as Merc said "Days to report in" (max 10), and it has "Disable requirement to report in". Anything more than 10 days is essentially saying you don't want the feature so just turn it off for a while (it takes effect upon your next rebirth).

 

But even if you just use that, I think people will benefit from the following... Here's what will likely go in the next release:

 

Chance of Bleeding (currently allows from 65% to 100%)

... will be replaced with...

Bleeding Chance Out of Combat (range 50% to 100)

Bleeding Chance In Combat (range 50% to 100)

Bleeding Chance when Mounted (range 0% to 100)

Thanks for getting back.  Couple of things

 

1 - Minor point.  Did you mean these two things to be the same?  I would have hoped that the combat one would be less punitive 

 

I will likely set defaults for all to 80%. You can set it to be less for combat. Just not lower than half the time for either. It's in combat where these collars have their main impact (and on horse if very low health regen). So for a punishing collar to actually be punishing, its in combat where things get interesting.

2 - I'm well aware that 10 days is available.  My slider is hard right now.  I scribbled something further upstream as to why only 10 days can be a problem when trying to play this mod alongside the base game.  It takes too high a proportion of the 10 days, and reduces what can be done on other quests.  And you can be imprisoned by Inte, enslaved by skyrimll, miles away from a suitable place from which to get back to Nocturnal, miss your alloeted timeslot and land up on your hands and knees trying to crawl back as her spiky necklaces try their utmost to drain your blood before you get there...well, you know what I mean!  Personally, with a variable max, I'd have gone for 25/30 days that gives 20/25 days doing other things with 5 days grace to still get back in time, and therefore have a reasonable chance of meeting the deadline, in spite of every other combat/enslaving mod etc trying to stop me.

 

Makes sense. I will change the max on "Days to Report In" to 20

 

3 - Totally switching off the requirement to report back is something I'd rather avoid. 

 

First, it feels like cheating, just like fast travel and so on do.  You've made the mod to be a challenge.  I don't want to avoid that, but find that I might have no option if it has the potential to otherwise bring the game to a grinding halt at a point where so many things have been thrown in that they just become so overwhelming that the PC is just stuck

 

Second, I'm actually totally sure exactly what switching off the 'report back' does, anyway.   The MCM says that doing so will 'prevent progress'.  Does that mean that all the mod's other side quests and so on just stop?  Or can you carry on with them?  It would be good to know for sure.  Also, the intro text implies that punishments will still be meted out for loss of sanctity anyway.  Or is th getting back to sort that actually additional to 'normal' reporting?  I haven't totally sussed that out yet from the gameplay I've managed, and the chances of staying pure for 10 days anyway is next to nil.  (On the upside, as there's no chance of finding 77 virgins in the whole of Skyrim, it possibly avoids other unpleasantnesses).  So if that were so, what's the point of switching off reporting back?  I'm not sure I know, and as It's not entirely clear, it would be useful to know

 

By turning off the Report in, since this is when Nocturnal gives you more Daedric quests, you halt that progress. The first one needs to complete for many of the other quests to start. X number need to complete to get the Enchant for the Anal Skel Key. So you stop that progress. But if those are done, then no impact to other progress.

 

This feature is really intended for if you completed most of the main story, and don't want the rebirth cycle to continue after that. But you could also put things on hold, then switch it back on.... a good way to go off and do some other major quest.

 

​So the suggestion to turn it off was a partly flawed on my part . This is in part, the reason you've convinced me to increase the max on days to report in.

 

I don't want to stop playing the mod at all.  It's very good and has some great stuff.  It just has a few strange side effects

Hello VirginMarie! I would like to ask a question about , Nocturnal's escaping from player when it's summoned.I installed the ZaZ Animation Pack with 6.11 patch with no overwrites but nothing really changed.

Yes for sure. Working as intended. Basically you've been a really really bad girl. You managed to not report in, then be out there in the wilds long enough to reach the max of 90%. You should not expect to be able to ride a horse at all

OK, I can see the merits of that

 

So how about an alternative to messing about with all the settings etc?

 

Just make the report back period a variable, ie 10/15/20/25/30 days, locked after each rebirth?​  It is variable between 1-10 days set by the player.  Are 10 days not enough, or were you unaware that you had up to 10 days?

 

 

MCM already has as Merc said "Days to report in" (max 10), and it has "Disable requirement to report in". Anything more than 10 days is essentially saying you don't want the feature so just turn it off for a while (it takes effect upon your next rebirth).

 

But even if you just use that, I think people will benefit from the following... Here's what will likely go in the next release:

 

Chance of Bleeding (currently allows from 65% to 100%)

... will be replaced with...

Bleeding Chance Out of Combat (range 50% to 100)

Bleeding Chance In Combat (range 50% to 100)

Bleeding Chance when Mounted (range 0% to 100)

Thanks for getting back.  Couple of things

 

1 - Minor point.  Did you mean these two things to be the same?  I would have hoped that the combat one would be less punitive 

 

I will likely set defaults for all to 80%. You can set it to be less for combat. Just not lower than half the time for either. It's in combat where these collars have their main impact (and on horse if very low health regen). So for a punishing collar to actually be punishing, its in combat where things get interesting.

2 - I'm well aware that 10 days is available.  My slider is hard right now.  I scribbled something further upstream as to why only 10 days can be a problem when trying to play this mod alongside the base game.  It takes too high a proportion of the 10 days, and reduces what can be done on other quests.  And you can be imprisoned by Inte, enslaved by skyrimll, miles away from a suitable place from which to get back to Nocturnal, miss your alloeted timeslot and land up on your hands and knees trying to crawl back as her spiky necklaces try their utmost to drain your blood before you get there...well, you know what I mean!  Personally, with a variable max, I'd have gone for 25/30 days that gives 20/25 days doing other things with 5 days grace to still get back in time, and therefore have a reasonable chance of meeting the deadline, in spite of every other combat/enslaving mod etc trying to stop me.

 

Makes sense. I will change the max on "Days to Report In" to 20

Where, or what, can I lick? 

 

3 - Totally switching off the requirement to report back is something I'd rather avoid. 

 

First, it feels like cheating, just like fast travel and so on do.  You've made the mod to be a challenge.  I don't want to avoid that, but find that I might have no option if it has the potential to otherwise bring the game to a grinding halt at a point where so many things have been thrown in that they just become so overwhelming that the PC is just stuck

 

Second, I'm actually totally sure exactly what switching off the 'report back' does, anyway.   The MCM says that doing so will 'prevent progress'.  Does that mean that all the mod's other side quests and so on just stop?  Or can you carry on with them?  It would be good to know for sure.  Also, the intro text implies that punishments will still be meted out for loss of sanctity anyway.  Or is th getting back to sort that actually additional to 'normal' reporting?  I haven't totally sussed that out yet from the gameplay I've managed, and the chances of staying pure for 10 days anyway is next to nil.  (On the upside, as there's no chance of finding 77 virgins in the whole of Skyrim, it possibly avoids other unpleasantnesses).  So if that were so, what's the point of switching off reporting back?  I'm not sure I know, and as It's not entirely clear, it would be useful to know

 

By turning off the Report in, since this is when Nocturnal gives you more Daedric quests, you halt that progress. The first one needs to complete for many of the other quests to start. X number need to complete to get the Enchant for the Anal Skel Key. So you stop that progress. But if those are done, then no impact to other progress.

 

This feature is really intended for if you completed most of the main story, and don't want the rebirth cycle to continue after that. But you could also put things on hold, then switch it back on.... a good way to go off and do some other major quest.

 

​So the suggestion to turn it off was a partly flawed on my part . This is in part, the reason you've convinced me to increase the max on days to report in.

 

That explains a lot, and is immensely helpful!  My PC has diddled all the Daedrics she needed to, and has got that bony key well hidden.... well, she had until it dropped out somewhere when she was having too much fun....

 

So it sounds as if her thumbing her nose, or something else. at Nocturnal might not be the end of the world after all... I'm sure she can find a waterfall to jump off in celebration

Hello VirginMarie! I would like to ask a question about , Nocturnal's escaping from player when it's summoned.I installed the ZaZ Animation Pack with 6.11 patch with no overwrites but nothing really changed.

What does "with no overwrites" mean"? Does it mean you were prompted to overwrite some files while installing and you selected "no" ?  If this is the case, you should select "Yes to all". But best first to uninstall any previous Zaz.

I'm not understanding your problem/symptom very well. Could you describe when and what you are seeing in game in a bit more detail.

In order for the Tales & Tallows quest to have mentioned Movarth's, this would imply that you've meet 3 ghosts. And of course those ghosts have equipped you with 4 devices as I see in the pics. If Tale & Tallows is selected, you would have a map marker for that, and you can read the journal if you missed what the 3rd ghost said.

 

Waterfall quest has nothing to do with Tales & Tallows or Halloween. The ghosts are just finding you wherever you go. The jump should have triggered the "erotic surprise" that the waterfall gives, but not if you are wearing a chastity device.

 

Also that ghost at the base of the jump is from vanilla skyrim, nothing to do with this mod.

 

I will pick out your best Halloween pic and post it. If you want you qualify for your name on a waterfall in game (re. the contest). Just need to pick where you want your waterfall

Did you use the virgin love shout?  There isn't anything to activate.

The vast majority of items we could use don't work with Khajit or argonians including the workout gag.  The head meshes are incompatible with a huge amount of potential assets that we look at which means either we rarely, or more to the point never, get to add anything for gags or we would need some one to specially design something specifically for us to work on those 2 races.  Considering how different those meshes are it would be likely we would have to have 4 minimum different shapes for each and every asset as orcs, again different headshape, also are not compatible with a large number of assets out there.

 

In short, this is not a major concern as there is next to nothing within the skillsets of either VirginMarie, myself, or any other tester that is involved with developments for the mod can do about it.  Khajit, Argonian, and Orc players are just going to have to accept that if something wasn't designed specifically for them it probably will not function correctly for them.

As mercplatypus has said, I'd not expect the pumpkin gag to work, and we won't be able to fix as these assets are created by other mod authors. You can see where the assets come from in the Thanks & Credits section on the main page.

 

I believe the wood gag works, and the workout gag will revert to a basic gag, thus you have options to use outside of Halloween.

I had expected Hideous Wrist and Ankle Ball to work, just maybe not look perfect, but on looking deeper now I can see that the original mod author of these has disabled those races, thus it's working as designed.

 

I've added to my list to try and improve. I believe all but the Pumpkin Gag can be working (maybe with some imperfection) for a future release. Even the pumpkin gag might be okish.

FWIW, in case anyone else is having problems with the Tales and Tallows questline when you get to Wolfskull Cave, you may, or may not, encounter bugs there.  They seem to come from the vanilla game's 'The Man Who Cried Wolf' quest

 

1 - sometimes Falk Firebeard, who you have to see in Solitude's Blue Palace to get it started, does not come up with the required dialogue.  The fix from uesp,net is  

 

The quest may at times fail to advance to stage 15 when you enter the court, resulting in Varnius Junius and the rest of the court standing without interacting with each other, and when spoken to, will simply tell you not to interrupt the court. This seems to occur if any of the courtiers leave the Blue Palace before Varnius' audience begins. Jarl Elisif will leave the Blue Palace to take part in Season Unending, Tending the Flames, Battle for Solitude, Bound Until Death and Diplomatic Immunity, and Erikur will also leave the palace for the latter two, so it is advisable to visit the Blue Palace before beginning any of these quests.

•  You can use the console command setstage MS06Start 15 to force this step to initiate.

 

2 - In Wolfskull Cave, when you get to the third chamber of the first part, ie after entering from 'Skyrim', the quest marker is now placed in a location beyond the current local map, showing that you have to go beyond it to progress.   The exit point from that chamber is supposed to be a pit to drop into - you can clearly see it on Youtube playthroughs.

Normal vanilla.... If you go to Wolfskull before talking to Falk, the ice barricade will be there. This is correct and by design. Triggering the start of the quest with Falk, removes that ice.

 

Thus if you had trouble getting Falk to start the quest and had to use a workaround to get past that point, I'm not surprised that the ice barricade stayed in place. Hence I see this as a single issue... the start of quest stuck problem. No way for Virgin to have any impact on this.

 

 

I've read some of what you mention, but I've never encountered the vanilla bug myself. Do you have the games unofficial patch installed?

Some of this dungeon's vanilla bugs get a more thorough airing here, and the non appearing pit can be found in quite a quite a few various other places.

 

The first URL's content was posted some time ago but I got a strange mix of bandits, necromancers, draugrs and skeletons where, on different run throughs, one lot seemed to have killed the others, but not necessarily the same lot each time.

Anyway, the main point was that, having spent about 5/6 hours trying to work it all out, I thought I'd try to save any other poor soul the same bother

Gotta say I really am enjoying the mod so far it reminded me I once created a colored texture of nocturnal just thought I would show here seems fitting.

This was like in 2012 I still have the files but they can definitely be done better now that I know what I am doing xD it really was just a recolor but if you wanna test it out you can if you have an idea for it I could definitely do a better job.

The mesh is the original mesh, it is not a replacement though it is separate so it didn't edit the original this doesn't have an esp in the download you'll have to link in the CK or replace the original to test, the mod i put this in is my own personal breeze home mod with a basement. In the basement is nocturnal statue ^^ i always loved nocturnal even though she tortures me so in your mod 0///0

Playing a new character I have ticked the option to put story on hold in MCM, but why does the ghost from Tales and Tallows keep spawning and approaching me? I use console to disable her everytime she shows up so she doesn't give new restraints.

 

Is there a setting to put this quest on hold or console command to complete it?

Put Story Start On Hold...  All this is going to do is stop the story from starting (as in the first meeting with Nocturnal). Does nothing after that.

 

Sorry there's nothing to put that quest on hold. Once you are past your first rebirth, it's going to start.
