Guest ffabris Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Can't imagine that EFF would be incompatible with Racemenu, since they are both from the same author (expired) I wasn't suggesting that it was; I was asking whether the EFF access to RaceMenu worked on not. Anyway, how do I use EFF to customise NPCs? Do I need the wheel menu to see the option, because I hate it for clashing with everything else in the UI. Enable the tattoo plugin, then change tattoo on an NPC via dialog (or however it is done, I can't remember now). That should bring up the same RaceMenu window as Manipulator does. Added: XPMSE should be loaded after any body replacer - IMHO. For SAM, I use, in order: HDT physics extensions SAM core SAM textures RaceMenu XPMSE HDT BBB bounce
RenaSan Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Just a quick question. Would it be possible to change the race, name and looks of a standalone follower or other npc with this permanently (within the same playthrough)? I mean.. I was thinking of creating my own follower so I can have both (or all three) of my characters in the same world. But if that works it would save me A LOT of time.

If it were (hypothetically) possible, you would end up with grey face.

Guest ffabris Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Mind if I ask why not? I mean, the mod sais it adds RaceMenu editing, what things can be edited, which cannot? As I said, not technically possible. And I also explained what would happen if it were possible. Why? because that's how Skyrim works. NPCs need hard-coded meshes and textures, which can only be made in CK. Lacking those, you end up with grey faces. If you change face, the meshes/textures have to be regenerated, which cannot be done in-game.

I guess it would make sense to just explain what you can actually do to the NPCs via recemenu, in the Manipulator's description. Also that you need a lot more than just Racemenu to actually do something in game with that feature.

Also that you need a lot more than just Racemenu to actually do something in game with that feature. You can do what the NPC RaceMenu panel (that Manipulator opens) shows you. That's a call to RaceMenu itself, via UIExtensions. So if it isn't shown there, it cannot be done. As for your second para, not sure what you're referring to.

Guess it's trial and error for me from here on out. Expecting to crash when trying to change an npc's hairstyle now :'D ----- edit I don't find an option to open racemenu to begin with

You can't do anything with just racemenu, at least in my game. I believe you need to have XPMSE.esp enabled, generate morphs in bodyslide(I don't even know what that is) and maybe more I'm not sure. So yeah it would be nice to give some more info. From this thread I see you can change tattoos? I can't even do that.

They have brought me (and still bringing) me lots of pleasure.

Guess it's trial and error for me from here on out. Expecting to crash when trying to change an npc's hairstyle now :'D What is shown is what is possible. You won't be crashing trying to change hair style because that won't be an option. It isn't that something shouldn't be done. It isn't that this mod, or UIExtensions or Racemenu will let you do something bad. It is that it is not possible, at a technical level, to do certain things. Exactly what you can do will depend on other mods. If your skeleton allows for certain morphs and scaling, you'll be able to do some of that. If your skeleton doesn't, that wont work. If you have the racemenu overlay then you can add and change overlays/tattoos. You don't need it, but if you have it then you can do what it provides.

From this thread I see you can change tattoos? I can't even do that. Well, as I noted, you can do whatever RaceMenu allows - and that will depend on what you have installed. Sorry, but I can't realistically be expected to list all the various options possible. So yeah, you'll need XPMSE to mess with body scaling; probably RaceMenu overlays to add tattoos, and so on. If you want morphs, you either need to be using a body replacer that has them, or make your own. (I use SAM, so that plus XPMSE gives me morphs I can tweak). The RaceMenu bit allows you to do to an NPC everything you can do to your own character, minus anything that would alter the face to the point that the facegendata becomes invalid. If you don't have morphs available for yourself, you won't have them for NPCs - etc. Then I misunderstood your remark and offer you hereby my apologies for that. And thanks for the hard work you've been doing lately. Not only for this mod, but especially your other work. They have brought me (and still bringing) me lots of pleasure. No apology needed! And you're very welcome. Added: I see Karl and I posted pretty much the same thing at the same time... so.... SNAP!

I'm at a loss. I already reinstalled EFF, to no avail. Come to think of it, EFF's description mentions a XFLPlugins.esp that's supposed to let us edit NPCs or something, but I can't find it anywhere. And the last person who asked about it got attacked by other users. =.=

Anyway, if you can't get RaceMenu with EFF either, then clearly the issue isn't Manipulator, but something else. As for XFLPlugins, I don't have that in EFF (I have EFF, just not currently installed in my game, as I stopped using followers) - and RaceMenu via EFF has always worked fine. Aha... XFL is for outfits. So nothing to do with RaceMenu at all: XFLPlugins.esp is an optional plugin that allows for your followers outfit to be changed

If I use the wheel menu, I can select Command > More to open a new window listing a bunch of options, Tattoos and Nickname were enabled in MCM last I checked, but selecting them in this new window does nothing (there's no white arrowhead next to them like the other options). i.e. Selecting Tattoos doesn't open Racemenu. So yeah, it seems the problem is something else, no idea what though. Maybe I should try reinstalling Racemenu as well, maybe there's an option in the installer or something. EDIT: Wait, do I need the Overlays plugin in the Racemenu optional files?

EDIT: Wait, do I need the Overlays plugin in the Racemenu optional files? No. Those are actual overlays use can use with EFF.

Then I'm stumped; I see no reason for the menu to be broken for me. Maybe I should just try disabling the Tattoo option in MCM, saving and exiting, then re-entering and turning it back on.

Pfiffy Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 The corrupted Shadows in the Meridia Quest don't get frindly. But this Mod is Quite good. I would like to see a few more slots for the Loctions. and a bit easier way of changing/adding the outfits.
Guest ffabris Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 The corrupted Shadows in the Meridia Quest don't get frindly. Some won't because of scripting. It isn't meant to handle all instances. I used a very simple brute-force method, so some won't be covered.

I used a very simple brute-force method, so some won't be covered. Well it is just a minor problem. In a Few cases they get too frindly. I'm, using the immersive wenches stuff. Making the Dwemer automatons frindly just keeps them in place. And it stops the Draugr from spawning to many Hateful wenches. But it is nice to use this with SGO, TDF and Deadlydrain... My whores found interesting ways of clearing the areas...... In some cases it is a bit hard to get to the locations I have a lot of CTD's due to heavy modding and scripting. but there is alway a workaround....
Guest ffabris Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 5.5 is up ... Fix: If you loaded harem data twice, there was no check to see whether the NPCs were already in the harem.
