So i have all the required mods installed already, but the MCM option is appearing for me, even after alot of ingame time.

Will the loose rar posted a few posts back solve the issue?

First time installer.

You do know that in the MCM it appears as 'Manipulator' and not 'The Manipulator'?

Yup.

I noticed that opening the Escape menu when waiting to get a MCM to appear speeds things up. Load the save, wait 30 secs, press Esc(enter menu), wait 5 secs, press Esc(exit menu) wait 30 secs, repeat once again (without the load the save part). If it doesn't appear after that you probably need to troubleshoot.

Just guessing here but perhaps zaselim posting here was part of his troubleshooting process? And, guessing again, perhaps zaselim is looking for a solution a tad more elegant than hitting the Esc key while armed with a stop-watch? B)

OK, insults are really not necessary! Some useful tips were given, as not everyone may be aware of the time taken for an MCM entry to show. Also, as I noted, it may be a load order problem.

well i was using the 2.9 version, I installed the 3.1 version and it worked.

Down side is i only wanted to use it for the NPC race menu and it does the same thing Extensive Follower Mod does (limited options instead of complete race menu sliders and options) which i am using. It is surprising that even after 4 years no one has made the NPC version of race menu mod. I usually make my NPC followers through creation kit and everything for the exact same look i want and use the "Tattoo option trick to open the race menu for NPC followers) method and it does the job 100% but the creation kit part is time consuming and i really like to have a fully functional  race menu mod for NPCs and i am still hoping that someone makes it.

Well enough rant, thanks for the help guys.

Changing anything beyond what Manipulator offers, for NPCs, would result in grey face, since changing the face requires that facegendata be rebuilt (face textures and meshes) which is not possible from the game itself, only in CK. so, it hasn't been done by anyone because it can't be.

From that page:

What do I need this for?

You can use the exported head for creating custom followers and NPC's.

The reason I made this mod, though, is so you can export your head shape that was created with Enhanced Character Edit, which provides you with everything you need to transfer your character's head over to RaceMenu.

So either creating a custom follower (using the CK), or using on the PC through RaceMenu.  So you can't use it to change an existing NPC without using CK and then you would STILL need to export the facegen, or you'll get the grey face issue.

Salutations my fellow avid NPC connoisseurs and my spirit bomb fuel to ffabris to encourage their wonderful work!

I do have a question regarding how changes in an npc (specifically through racemenu) is "stored" or remembered. Does it do it externally through a seperate file or is it done through the save file itself?

The question only became more intriguing to me because I have been for a long time struggling with racemenu changes dissapearing at some stage for everyone I have made changes to (seems to happen the most when I add or remove new mods). Is there a file I can backup so when changes reset, I can just copy and paste it over instead of going to every npc and changing each again?

ps. is it worth mentioning I have installed this mod through mod organizer?

As far as I know, changes are saved to the save file. Manipulator doesn't make the changes, RaceMenu does. And I don't think there is any way to query the changes made. All Manipulator does is call up RaceMenu on a specific NPC; RaceMenu does all the rest. I looked at the EFF tattoo plugin to see how it calls RaceMenu, and do it the same way. (Note that the author of EFF is also the author of RaceMenu.)

To answer your question, there is no file to backup... as I said, I think it is all stored in your save file. Changing load order may wipe any changes you made.... maybe. Also, making changes to levelled NPCs (ie, generic guards, bandits, etc) would likely not stick. But I haven't tested that,

Why do Harem members keep telling me to leave my own house?  not sure why they see me as trespassing in Lakeview Manor, i kinda built the thing :/

Awesome Mod btw, very useful, so a big thanks for doing this.

You just can't get any good personel/ harem members these days *tisks and tuts*

But seriously, in the MCM, in the places "tab", you can/ have to set Lakeview Manor as being public. Just tick that box and they should stop shooing you out of your own home

@Vachnic & @ ffabris

Thank you both for your responses, unfortunately that did not fix the problem, i checked and it seems to be public by default, no factions are listed as owning it in Manipulators MCM.

It doesn't list the player as owner either, i set player to owner of the cell and it had no effect, the NPC's in question were Sylgja and Camilla ( i did all quests related to them before adding them to the Harem ) and i play a Vampire, mebbe being a Vamp got them scared?

I sleep in the cellar anyways so its not a worry, just annoying when i am having naughty fun with one, the other keeps repeating "you need to leave" ... over and over and over!

Try setting it to PlayerFaction owned, rather than Player. Not sure that will help, however, since harem NPCs are not added to PlayerFaction.

Is it only two harem NPCs that do this? If you only have two, can you test a few more, to see what happens? Might be a mod conflict, dunno.

I will start a completely fresh game and remove a couple of mods that don't seem to work very well for me, Deviously Enslaved and Sanguine Debauchery, then i will test it to see if there is any difference, might take a few days though, i will let you know asap what happens with those mods gone.

Ok. :)

I think it was setting them to married when putting them into my harem that did it.

I added Sylgja again as unmarried and her mother from dark-water crossing, also set as unmarried, neither have asked me to leave my Lake-view Manor house yet in two game days of testing at various game day and night times..... i guess the Skyrim marriage system don't like to be messed with, or because I have spouses enhanced installed, maybe that interfered in some way.

Some parts of storage are broken too, Potions, Poisons and Daedric artifacts i can add to storage, but it wont let me retrieve them.

Other than those things the rest seems to work just fine, a really great mod that i'm very happy you've done, thank you.

Spouse Enhanced might be it. The marriage flag used by Manipulator just adds the faction, and marriage dialog.

Hum, I'll check that. How are you accessing those storage containers, via MCM or hotkey?

OK, found the storage issue ... it affected the MCM only, not hotkey access. Mod is updated, 3.2 is up. Clean update is not required (I tested that).

ffabris - I just want to say how much I'm thrilled with NPC Racemenu cosmetics... Maaaaan, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Manipulator mod is one of my favorite mods. Thanks for making it. :)
