I'll give it a try tomorrow. I wonder if I just have too many things loading. I think I count 30 MCM menus in different groups.

That may well be ... might be that the save has consumed all available string space. There's a util that deals with that, but I am blanking on the name.

Well copying over your json works.

I will have to watch for string discussions and see about getting a number for my setup and see if that is it.

Some of the MCM menus I have are a single screen and one or two checkboxes. Things like Simply Knock, Run For Your Lives, DYKWIA don't take much.

On the other hand, Skytweak, SL, Nude Creatures, etc have more than a few.

OK Karl - good luck!   I'm glad the json helps, even if it is lacking some (many?) of the NPCs. :)

I didn't have that many in there, 5 at most. Not sure but it might have been housecarls like Lydia that were missing, or maybe that random encounter of the named noble and his wife and imperial soldier bodyguard... I tried sticking her in my harem but I don't think that works.

4.2 is up ...

  • New: Added DwarvenAutomatonFaction to Friend Factions panel (no clue how I overlooked that one!)
  • Fix: incorrect error when loading NPC and harem data. The mod would complain about not being able to load an outfit, when there was no outfit to load. [headdesk]

The racemenu cosmetic function isn't working for me for some reason. I have UIExtensions installed

Can you please clarify "isn't working"? Do you have RaceMenu isntalled as well?

Yes I indeed have Racemenu installed, the latest version at that.

OK - you still need to explain what isn't working.

Is there any way to keep The manipulator from depending on Dawnguard and Dragonborn? The new Version no longer works with enderal....

DG and DB are required for the factions panel: that handles factions that are added by those 2 DLCs. So short answer, no.

the latest version was installed on the new game.

I enabled Vampires in list of friends. When Durak showed up in Whiterun, he immediately attacked me. I reloaded the game and disabled Vampires from the list. He didn't attacked me.

Also, forgive me for saying this but Player is a friend to Vigilants of Stendar by default. Now, in this mod, if Vigilants aren't enabled in MCM menu Friends list, they become Player's enemy at start although vampires aren't enabled as Player's friends. I don't see a point for this. I would understand that they will become Player's enemies if the Player is Vamipr's friend and as such he autonomously becomes their enemy and Vigilants must be enabled in Friend's list. This isn't the case. Anyhow, There is a triangle that doesn't work well together in this mod: Durak and Dawnguard faction, Vigilants and Vampires.

I think Vigilants do not like necromancers or warlocks, if you were friendly to them from the start as well. I meant to test that and determine which of the two or both they hated.

No faction is added in the list of Friends...The list is empty.

Oh, I see what you are saying, but its probably a bug and not intended behavior. At least, according to what Beamer said when he added that feature.

If the list in Friend Factions is empty, then something else is going on.

As was said, vigilants will attack you if you add yourself to one of the factions they hate, which includes necromancers, dremora (I think), and a few more. That's why I added Vigilants as one you can add.

If you haven't added yourself to any, then look to mods other than Manipulator for why you're being attacked. Also, just to be sure, check the JSON to see if any of the factions are enabled and perhaps not displayed correctly in the MCM (unlikely, but still possible).

I didn't have described problems before this version of the mod and no new mods were installed in the meantime.

Elf, if you don't add yourself to any of the factions, the mod won't do it for you. The code is simply never called unless you enable one or more of factions in that panel.

When you first run version 4.x, the init code will go look to see if there is a saved json with any factions set; if it finds one, and there are factions enabled there, then they will be applied. Otherwise, everything is left disabled.

Please read my first post, about this problem, not the last post :

After this happened, I cleaned the list. So this is the real problem. If the list is cleared, I have no problem but if I add a vampires, I have a problem with Durak and Dawnguards..

Fuck.. just, forget it... thanks for trying to help....

I won't bother you any more.. Sorry...

OK - and Karl answered that - it is expected. That's exactly why I added Vigiliants to the possible factions, for those cases where a selected faction happens to be one that Vigiliants will attack. Dawnguard folk will also attack, of course. So if you need to go there, remove yourself from the Vampire faction first.

I did note on the d/l page that enabling any of the factions WILL break your game. If it does, disable them again. Simple.

Wow .... :-|

ffabris,

I'm having similar problems to Elf Prince.

1. Not really a problem this, just FYI. Bandits not selected as friends. Bandits attacked me (radiant quest 'kill bandit leader'). On my way back to claim the reward in Whiterun and was met by the courier with a  'sorry for your loss' and letter of inheritance from the late, lamented bandit leader.

2. I've got the whole vampire thing 'turned off' via Timing is Everything. Still got attacked by Vigilants. Had to add them to friends list (in Manipulator not Facile Book).

3. Biggest problem for me is Forsworn. Not selected as friends but not attacking/hostile. I've got a couple of Forsworn gigs(*) from Markarth in my journal but haven't tackled them yet. I've come across a few Forsworn on the roads (figuratively and literally :dodgy: ) without any signs of hostilty. I even attacked and killed one but that didn't make any difference to the next lot I came across.

(*) One is the meet the guy in the temple of Talos after Margret is killed in the market place. Not met with him yet. The other is Lisbet's get the statue back job.

Not sure if it is related but got attacked by a Stormcloak patrol on the road. I'd been taking longe-range potshots at Mudcrabs and Sabrecats so I might have caught the patrol with a stray round. I reloded as I didn't want the complications of taking on the Stormcloaks.  I'll find some Stormcloaks tomorrow and see what happens.
