spoonsinger Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 malloc patch ? The lesser know fifties jazz saxophonist?
heroko Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 well the loading in game is fast enugh tho like when i go trugh door and stuff but when iv just started the game it stops responding for like 5min then im suddenly done loading (5min is probly not acurate tho but it feels like ages)
Slammer64 Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 h38fh2mf, I'm having a small problem, updated to crash fix 10 and put in the latest Preload patch, removed sheson patch from skse.ini, enabled UseOSAllocators=1, start the game up, and on loading, silent crash out, if I disable UseOSAllocators=0, I can load fine with the Preload patch still in place, is there a way to enable logging on the Preload patch?
h38fh2mf Posted May 21, 2016 Author Posted May 21, 2016 Yes, create a file "d3dx9_42.log" in same directory as the DLL file. Start the game again, it will write to that log when file exists.
spoonsinger Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Nice improvement on loading time, (from my experience), e.g. circa 140 seconds down to between 48 seconds & 57 seconds on a particular save, (did it a few times to make sure). I doesn't seem to improve cell transition though, (i.e. on simple tests of going from riverwood tower basement to the outside world after loading into the basement save, it takes circa 40 seconds on the old V9 & the new V10). (ps really big Lootification file - tends to make loads reallly really slow).
Slammer64 Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Ok, weirdness is resulting, with UseOSAllocators=0 the log reads Attempting to load "C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data\SKSE\Plugins\CrashFixPlugin.dll". Successfully loaded "C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data\SKSE\Plugins\CrashFixPlugin.dll" and the game loads it's save, when I have UseOSAllocators=1, I get Attempting to load "C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data\SKSE\Plugins\CrashFixPlugin.dll". Successfully loaded C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data\SKSE\Plugins\CrashFixPlugin.dll" and the game crashes on trying to load it's save. Go figure... Just checked, can't even start a new game without a crash before it's finished loading.
h38fh2mf Posted May 21, 2016 Author Posted May 21, 2016 Oh yeah I heard someone say that if you have ExpandSystemx64 = true or whatveer it's called in enblocal.ini then there is a problem. Set it false there.
heroko Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 will enb make my game run more smothly ?and should i start making bash patches and that kind of stuff
Slammer64 Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 You might want to sticky that part about disabling ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true on the front page, h38fh2mf.
h38fh2mf Posted May 21, 2016 Author Posted May 21, 2016 You might want to sticky that part about disabling ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true on the front page, h38fh2mf. I added it to the instructions part, thanks.
heroko Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 soo it's probly wierd of me to ask but is there somewhere i can see like general of how my load order should look ?
h38fh2mf Posted May 21, 2016 Author Posted May 21, 2016 Preloader is only needed if you use UseOSAllocators=1 and SSME is overwritten by this setting. Choose either SSME or UseOSAllocators=1
heroko Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 well then im guessing i should make my load order like body and visual stuff then animations then all the other stuff i want then the quests and stuff like that at the end
snarfies Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 This preloader thingy overwrites SSME's dll. ( Yes it does. But consider the entire point of the pre-loader is that you don't need SSME anymore.

This explains alot.
Uriel Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Tried UseOSAllocators=1 just now, Skyrim crashed during loading 4 times in a row. What could be wrong i wonder. Yep, same stuff as Slammer64 has up there. ps: do you think OS allocation is ENBoost compatible?
Felicat Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 just gave the new version with the preloader a short test run... so far everything works fine. starting up, loading savegames, everything looks good... and faster. i also noticed my framerate rised to 60fps (Vsync on). before i had about 40 fps... i use waaay to many mods with lots of scripts. so two thumps up!! really great work!
Slammer64 Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 No Felicat, no thumping on h38fh2mf! We need him to keep coming out with wonderful toys for us to play with!
Lance711 Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 So I'm guessing you didn't need SKSE Devs' permission to use this plugin preloader (or permission to edit the SKSE plugin)? Since Sheson found his own alternative?
Guest Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 I don't know why but I keep getting crashes in the beginning everytime with this active even with expandmemory false edit: I managed to get it to work it was on my sorry, thanks so much for this fix you're amazing!!!~
