Exactly. That's what blew my mind when I first found this mod. Animators/artists do not program. That's what I always thought, anyway.

 

It will take a team. I know many believe trolls probably drove CEO to stop. I doubt it. I think that with the scope of a project like this, you have to be obsessed to keep going, or it will take forever. There is just too much to do. Then one day you wake up and say, "WTF am I doing? How did my life become about this? Where is the friggin' finish line?" Then you realize the platform's lifespan is limited. Every new game, every remastered game, how much will have to be learned all over again?

 

Long story short, I just described mod slavery leading to modding burn out. It is less likely with a team, because spreading responsibilities allows you to reduce the obsession requirement and team members can be replaced.

I'm not sure you understand the concept of a framework. You are comparing SL plus other mods to OSA and no other mods.

Aww man, I am sorry to hear that CEO, I wish i could have helped in some way to make your mod better, I have loved using it, all the way from the 2nd? release and the new UI just made it epic, was stoked about the new plugins and kept watching the page on nexus and here. 

 

I respect your decision and sincerely wish you the best in whatever you chose to do in future.

Damn. Thank you for your amazing work, can i suggest coming back after a couple weeks away-maybe a few eureka ideas would come. Such beautiful animations shame that all this has to go too waste. Maybe more members of the LL community could help CPU maybe?.

God damn it, just found this thread after reinstalling Skyrim and was so hyped regarding the quality, dedication and love put into this. However I have not the right to demand anything of the author, so good luck in your future endeavours CEO!

I'm not sure you understand the concept of a framework. You are comparing SL plus other mods to OSA and no other mods.

 

Yes, apologies. I meant that a mod could theoretically latch onto 0SEX just like Spouses Enhanced needs SL. I only mentioned Spouses Enhanced, because it has a similar emphasis on romance and provides a narrative context for SL animations.

Hi CEO,

 

You've already heard from me and how I thought this was one of the best mods ever.  So now I'll just say that I'm sad to see you give it up.  As someone who has worked on big projects, projects more famous and bigger than this one, I can say a few things about how I handled it when I gave them up:

 

  • I gave up a project once and asked that the community it was a part of would let it die.  People continued it without my permission.  In fact, it took on a life of its own I never dreamed it would.  At first I was angry that my ideas and work were stolen and used by others, but then I came to feel very grateful that I did something that was really impressive, something that would be part of gaming history.  The funny thing is that most people don't even know who I am or what the project was - and it will remain that way.  Just know that I was there at the start of something and was literally one of the inventors of an idea that is used in nearly every game using in-game cinematics that aren't CGI generated.  Some people who knew the story, or found out later, still look for me from time to time.  I've been interviewed for web sites and magazines about it.  Never a front page story, always something buried and most people wouldn't even remember it.  I guess my point is that I'm happy now that it continued and became what it is today.  Even if some folks don't even know I was involved - it doesn't matter.  
  • Don't just quit.  I did that and it kind of locked me out of the project(s) going forward.  Sure, people were happy to have me around, but when I gave up control (and my work was kind of stolen), and I wanted to be involved again, people did not want to relinquish the project back to its original owner.  They had made their own rules and their own teams to continue forward without me.  If you stay involved, even as a spectator, but remain the owner of the project, it would be much better than just giving up and walking away.

So there is my story and hopefully some words you may consider.  No matter what you decide, you will always be the creator of this project and you did an amazing thing.  Good luck in your future.

Hey CEO thanks for everything you've done for us up until now. I really feel the same way about Bethesda so you have my full support for this decision. It's a shame that we'll never see SEX WHILE SPOONING but I think it's a good thing that modders like you can stand up and say enough is enough when Bethesda are clearly getting greedier by the year. It was in development. The next (unreleased) version of BBLS had OSex driven dialogue and FoxFingers was planning to convert Amorous Adventures.

i don't see 32 bit skyrim mods being dropped, there are too many mods that will not update (skyui)to the new skyrim and alot of people that will not play without those mods, i will try 64 bit skyrim but my 4 year old install (almost 5) is not going anywhere - good luck where ever life takes you

This is how I feel.  It'll take a long while before modders switch over.  

 

I respect CEO's decision and I'm thankful that I have a version downloaded (not the latest version but maybe the second to last).  It's still a great mod as is and I will be sure to keep a copy of it.  

 

CEO has set a very high bar that hopefully someone will strive for whether that's in Skyrim, FO4 or other games.  In fact, developers can learn a lot from CEO about how to bring romance into their games.

Hi CEO Just learned about this Mod yesterday and immediately donated as it was such a visionary and immersive Mod ... now I read this and thought nooooo ...  you cannot bring it down now ...

 

I am no Pro at all, so I got the Impression Bethesda wants to do us a Favor by giving us a 64bit Version of Skyrim. Should be a Benefit for Modders or not ? But maybe I see this wrong and someone can explain me the Truth.

 

And I understand : Sometimes everything is getting too much. Many Factors - Work, Real Life, annoying People get together and you are fed up. But tomorrow is a new Day and I hope you will come back as you got a lot of Support on Nexus and in here as it seems. You did a great Job and should not become discouraged by a few Idiots.

 

However thanks for the Work you did so far !

I've known some designer/programmers. But, the industrious part... I don't know how he managed to learn Flash, fix bugs, add features, make animated gifs, set up various tumblr sites, do lots of illustrations, random new content packs, etc. at that pace.

 

I think you're right on the reasons. That's why I've been reluctant to even start posting simple mods. I see how you could get personally invested and have it balloon into a never-ending saga that closes other options or even replaces you ever actually enjoying the game yourself. Mod slavery. Heh.

CEO , I would take some time off and clear my head.  I too have worked on a lot of projects at work and home can more than empathize with what your going through.  What you have built here is game changing.  Its a great approach to a true romance simulator I haven't seen anywhere, and definitely not at this caliber.  I have never had an issue with your mods, but alas I do clean saves and really wanted to follow your vision on this of a romance simulator not just another "mod".  Thus I am not really trying to make 0sex work with anything else.  1.082 is working fine for me.  There are some minor bugs but nothing show stopping and definitely not anything I wouldn't continue  with. Yes scaling gets off once an a while but a simple setscale on your player fixes it just fine.  Ignore haters, they offer nothing and take everything.  Don't try to solve everything time will take care of it, just a good FAQ is good enough.  Your 1.08 is so much more advanced than 1.06 from what I have tested is amazing.  I wish I had commented earlier but I am rather shy by nature.    I join the group of please don't quit, just refresh :)  Regardless if you need a contributor or just a gift (payment) as thanks I'd do it and I am pretty sure a lot of others would too.   Good luck and great work.

Thank you for the very very nice words everybody,

Before things get too emotional in here: I'll reconsider my stand on this a bit, to harsh on my part due to some biterness/spite and I'm sorry for that. I've been discouraged as the projects hits a few pretty significant disadvantages in my eyes. I need to think about what to do but the truth is OSA is complete, it has one bug and we've worked on this system for over a year intensely with everything now behind us. For the future I'm not sure what will happen as I'd like to find a way to sanely and in a healthy manner maintain and grow this project but we'll have to see.

 

Remastery will not take OSex without some pretty serious work from the Skyrim dream team before I would be able to begin fixing it up to even start to connect. We might never see it or it might happen after a long period of time. I also feel I can't get a hook in the community. OSA I believe can be a new game entirely in itself (Or at least turn Skyrim into a whole new game) but simply existing in Skyrim casts a shadow of age and boring on it, the community is integrated into other systems and I am having a very hard time pulling any development interest to OSA. People look to me to deliver the animations, the system, the features, integration into Skyrim etc. That's many jobs to maintain for a long period of time. I can do those jobs but I need help to maintain momentum on other fronts for this project. I need help from people that can to just try to use the framework or API to create things and help spread out the job of creating interesting content for this engine, either give it meaning in Skyrim by making content around it or adding new animations, sounds, personalities to make the possibilities of what can happen stronger. I can do it for other people's content etc but that puts more load on what I have to do for this project.

 

Basically what I'm saying is this is a framework, and a creation tool as well but I need to be in place where I'm not responsible for everything from here on out, the tools are in place to take this and make your own stuff. I can only keep so much momentum on my own and OSA needs to be in a place where content generation is happening be it API or new scenes / animations outside of my own personal efforts so this can have relevance and become something awesome. People might say it's not documented enough but I've done a lot of Skyrim modding myself before this and a I'm pretty confident modders are used to getting dirty a little bit to make things work. I think it's more of a mentality and things related to Skyrim's tenure. I'm asking to reconsider this project as something to create with and give it a shot, I promise it's pretty easy, and it can do things that were never close to possible in Skyrim before.

 

To try to make the point clear: People ask for dialogue triggers, people ask for MM Bisexual animations, FFFF body orgies, those are the complaints on the internet of the versatility OSex lacks. I can animate those but it's to many jobs to manage in a healthy way and I need help, people give that help to other systems if you believe that this is cool I need the same things to happen here. That's just one front of what I'm talking about in terms of creation but maybe that makes more sense.

 

That's what I'm hoping for, and I hope people understand why I'm asking and why it's important to me and this project. I'll keep trying also to find a way to make this something I can see through all the way.

Yes scaling gets off once an a while but a simple setscale on your player fixes it just fine.

 

You could provide some help here.  I need to know how you typically play the game.

 

Do you play with a female character or a male character?

 

Do you start a scene on female NPCs or male NPCs, or both?

 

If you play with a female character, do you use a Futa setup?

Either way you decide to go CEO, thanks for this mod!  Was a masterpiece, especially animations and the UI.

 

Was kind of hoping that Skyrim going 64bit and using the same engine as Fallout soon, that your mod when updated would translate over to Fallout 4 and future games.

Totally understand stopping work on this version, but was really hoping you might pickup the 64bit version at some point in the future so that it would carry on beyond Skyrim.

 

I'm sure you've caught a lot of shit, but man you have something special here with this mod.  Really hope you just take a break and come back when the new tools for the 64bit version come out.

Migal130, I play with male character and use a sub on female.  Notice in the setscale that female is 1.0 I think my male character shrinks under its properties to .97 if that helps.   To be more specific the issue is with 1.82.  1.81 is perfect.  If there is something specific that can help I can upload.  Wish I were more fluent with what you all are doing , but if there is anything you want me to run please let me know


Sorry to clarify 1.082  is where the scaling issues impacts me migal.  1.081 is fine

Not sure how much this will help but attached is the scaling issue I have with 1.082.   As you can see my dom is male my sub female.  I have tried different body types which don't seem to make a difference.   As I mentioned I can fix it by using a setscale on the dom of 1.03 and its back to normal.  Let me know if there is anything else I can upload for you.
