Mass Effect Andromeda

Darkening Demise

They don't like shepard because he is by default presented as male even though they had him lookin kinda minority of some kind almost all video game main characters and player characters have always been a white guy so they are trying to do something different thinking it will draw in more people or other people I don't know but more like it is just increasingly sjw which is the trend right now. They could have done the whole player character thing totally different through all three games by never showing that character in ads and materials so people would be able to see themselves as that character whenever they think about the game let alone play it. By giving the player character an appearance of any kind they kinda ruined it for us.

All these companies think the popular demographic is hispanic now but that is not the case and by trying to say it is this or that doesn't change anything it still appears divisive like I said they should have just never showed the player character which I think would have drawn in way more people.

Am I to understand that you consider it divisive and SJW if the player character in a videogame isn't white?

GTA:San Andreas : SJW gone mad

Picking a skin color or gender for a video game character is nothing but exactly that. Not saying demographics don't enter into it: they're trying to sell games to as many people as possible, after all. But seeking social engineering agendas behind that is imo pretty ridiculous.

The norm has always been white people in everything just ask any black people about that, they will tell you right away it has been that way for a long long time. I don't mind seeing all kinds of people in ads and games but the norm has been associated with white people and specific beliefs etc which bothers people that are not white and there has been a lot of talk about it in news and magazines and internet over the years but sjw seem to hate white people with a passion. The norm could be several different people in main roles and we do see more of that now but the sjw crap we mostly see about it is from MSM and some games too.

It is not divisive if the character is not white no, but it is divisive with all the shit sjw flings at anyone that tries to talk about it at all.

This is interesting. I wish whoever designed the combat changes watches this video.

What a glorious rant

Silly of the guy to expect gameplay for non-comatose people though. Wrong expectations for a modern AAA game.

Then again the way he even shreds Witcher 3 to pieces makes it abundantly clear that he either is a complete wanker (I'm not a Witcher fanboy and I don't particularly like the combat system in part 3 but this game is still awesome, the story and quest design alone make up for the shortcomings) or what's more likely he just wants to provoke for clickbait, devaluating basically everything he says because he is dishonest on purpose.

Ian Frazer on the animations:

Responding to a question about the animations which have raised a few eyebrows he says “that the ship has sailed” but there will be more patches later. However, he doesn’t specify what will be in them so we have no idea if and when then will get sorted. We’ll have to sit tight and see what they come up with then weeks ahead.

Im looking forward to see the sex scenes, going to be comedy gold.

Or he just didn't like the combat system, or the AI in Witcher 3.  I didn't like it either.

I love Witcher3 but I admit the combat is too burdensome on PC unless you have a console controller.  But his comments about Witcher3 combat being nothing but spamming buttons is total bullshit.  The ONLY way that works is on easy mode.  In any other mode combat requires parries, blocks, dodges, and timed attacks.  Not to mention the right signs and potions for the opponents being fought.  If that shit isn't done Geralt will die every time.  There are tutorials on Witcher3 combat.  Anybody ever seen a combat tutorial for a Bethesda game?

I do have the suspicion he just has a trolling channel, since most of his videos are like the ones for Andromeda and Witcher3.

I don't get all that hate for mShep, he was a perfect soldier in my eyes, also Mark Meer did an awesome job voicing him, especially in ME2/3.

Comparing Ryder to Shepard is like comparing Justin Bieber to Michael Jackson lol

From What I Have Heard ME Trilogy Was Built Around FemShep And Mshep Was Added After And The Correct Way To Play Is With FemShep ....

However I Cant Comment On Mshep As Ive Only Ever Played ME With FemShep ..

The SFM animators are better at animating something than the devs which is really really sad.

That's not fair.  Porn has always been the early adopters  :)

Jiggle bones, cloth physics and hair physics were practically invented by Team Ninja so that definitely holds true in the gaming world as much as anywhere else. :P

Mack doesn't care for third-person combat in general but the combat found in the Witcher is generally too simple for him to even try to tolerate it. Just keep his bias against anything overtly console-friendly (controllers, third-person view, x-ray vision, aim assist, enemy markers)in mind and it is easy enough to understand his response to certain games.

  I guess that's why there's black German soldiers in Battlefield One, since the Kaiser's army was chocked full of forced diversity to suit contemporary sensibilities.

BF1 is not a historical game. The overabundance of automatical weapons and fantasy armor (elite classes like the sentry use those) makes that pretty clear.

If you want a historical game of WW1, play Verdun. No black soldiers, no magical armor or syringes to revive dead people and automatic weapons are exceedingly rare.

He doesn't like games that play themselves, that's all. Witcher 3 has a combat system akin to the Arkham games where the player character does a lot of things for you and you just have to worry about the right moment to press a button. He likes games like Chivalry and Mount&Blade where you have to worry about your movement as well as your aim in melee fights. Like if you attack the air in Mount&Blade you do just that and look stupid, whereas in games like The Witcher the character automatically moves towards the nearest enemy.

He also states that the story and the characters in that game are really good but he doesn't care about that as much as the gameplay, hence the thumbs down. After all, it is just a personal opinion of his and you don't have to agree with him or anyone else for that matter. If you like a game someone dislikes or vice versa it's not the end of the world and at the end of the day the enjoyment you get out of a game is highly subjective.

For example I liked the Fable games a lot despite them being extremely easy and simple. I can't really explain why I liked them because usually I don't like very simple games, but I also wouldn't tell everyone that says the games are bad because they offer you no challenge whatsoever to shut up and acquire my superior taste.

I don't agree with other conclusions he makes in other videos, but he does try to explain why he thinks the way he does and gives specific examples/points. This makes it easy for me as a viewer to decide if I agree with him on something or not.

I posted the video because he makes very valid points about MEA. We go into a ME game expecting:

1. Compelling story and characters.

If they do exist in MEA they are not visible in the first 10 hours at all. And 10 hours is a long time. The broken faces and animations everybody is talking about definitely hurt the narrative side of the game - they make it impossible to take seriously the people you see and the situations they are presenting. (Here is how Francis is recreating them.) But they are only the tip of the iceberg. And he also points that out.

2. Engaging combat.

In MEA the combat is now "streamlined" and "dynamic" but radically different from what it used to be. He talks a lot about the new soft cover system and the implications it has on the combat. I think he doesn't know that he can use the jetpack and the new "short-range teleport" (mouse middle button) - the two things people point to when saying that the combat in MEA is "fun". However for the fights that are in an environment like the one he is showing I completely agree with him that it is a whack-a-mole experience.

He also points to the fact that you can''t die - the only way you die is because of combat damage. Falling off a cliff just respawns you back and in the most game-y way tells you that you have "left the mission area". This started with DAI but at least there you take damage.

Added:

Because of the way the game arbitrarily takes away the ability to manually save and the "checkpoint" autosaves happen after fights and not before. I think many people will be unwilling to take risks during combat and experiment too much. And the fights are not going to be fun, but a worry "Am I now going to be send 10-15 minutes back and having to do all the scanning and running around again".

If you want to understand better how the combat works in MEA this guy has pretty cool commentary in his playthrus

SAY THANKS TO YOUR QUEEN AND SAVIOUR:

Not fair to push evrything on her tho.

Blame EA/Bioware too, since she was hired on contract, and looks like she was already laid off back in february.

Sounds about right.

Thats what you get when you hire people based on politics and gender, instead of skill.

Immagine that cesspool... hate on men, hate on white people and all that politically correct garbage they spit out everyday...must be one amazing place to work at.

Nobody is going to make me believe that this doesnt have an effect on their work.
