Tex Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Damn, gotta thank those neck-beards, if it wasn't for their ranting I'd be dead bored.
Kendo 2 Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 It's not easy to see the supposed humor behind using "autistic" as a joke for certain people. That would include me, as my little brother is autistic (and is actually a very lovable person). While I get to an extent the point of people complaining about things getting too "PC", there's a significat crowd of people out there who enjoy being intentionally hyper offensive, and then complain or laugh about people being offended in turn. In the free world, you're free to be a massive asshole, but don't expect people to like it. There's been a recent trend here of people saying things that even I wouldn't say, and that's pretty bad. I could attribute this to the influx of new members bringing their FaceBook/Steam/Nexus forum mentalities here with them, but some of the lame posts are made by long-standing members who know better. I read these types of posts and it is almost like there is a kill-switch for common sense in their asses and when they sit down to type they go brain dead. I don't see any remedy for this other than calling them out or if it is bad enough, reporting them. Lover's Lab is one of the very few communities that is still a community. I think that is something worth preserving.
...0... Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 First of all who take steam serious is not right in his mind:P Sorry but steam is bull.shit community on forum with idiotic views on whats right and whats wrong. Look at this guy what a IDIOT. =========================================================================================================================================== Jxxxxn [has The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim] 29 May @ 1:47pm Most of the people who Mod their games with LL mods and female cosmetic mods usually do so because they lack certain social skills and experiences in their own lives. So to make up for those things they lack in their own personal lives, they indulge in their own little Skyrim world with hyper sexual Female overhauls and sex mods. It's the same thing with the old school and hardcore Roleplayers. Skyrim lacks that roleplay and experience that past games had so what do those gamers do? They download mods like Requiem and ASIS for a big roleplay overhaul and experience. ============================================================================================================================================ Forums on steam are one worse take it with huge GRAIN OF SALT better yet ignore it most bunch of losers. For nexus i don't agree with some here i never had any problems on nexus plus i still download mods there and some DAMN GOOD ONES.
Taskmaster Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Steam moderators sucks. Community hub is full of sjws. They will shit on every screen of yours. Lorefags that always start a conversation with "take this shit of the steam its not the porn" , afterwards they got told and never reappear again. Usually you will be banned instead of them. Perfect moderation , they prefer to close a topic with 3k replies rather than ban "lore-fags" that were spamming in that topic. More friends = more popularity, even if you screens are shitty as shit or reposted Xth time. Avoid everyone with the puppy as their avatar Everytime I read comment section of someone else screens it makes me puke, freakin clotsucking white-knights Simple standing pose with ui on and no enb "sweet job :3" , "hot girl " , "Fantastic screen :)" and it gets 300 upvotes meanwhile a great landscape shot of my friend is buried deep withing freaking buttshots and riverwood mills screenshots. Oh and if you have a female avatar and erotic nick you get double power Steam is not good site to share any creativity or other related works , especially with the Skyrim. Yeah I'm angry , angry about Steam. I hate it much more each day. Its turning into the another facebook. You could replace your nouns with ones appropriate to Loverslab; this place is not much different than Nexus or Steam when it comes to user behavior. With the sad thing being, that each place doesn't seem to realize how indistinguishable they truly are between each other. All three 'communities' are filled with like judgmental users and SJW types(probably some of the exact users, too), but in defense of, or favoring different, but relative ideals. Not to mention LL exhibits mirrored behavior of the other sites, when it comes to favoritism toward regular popular posters/contributers. If this site was better, people would have just pushed aside the disparaging Steam comments. However, this thread shows this place isn't really above it either, and will not only react similar, but stoop down to similar levels. Just needing a different catalyst or provocation. The sooner all three 'communities' realize they all do and act out of line, the sooner all three 'communities' can work to be better for everyone in them.

I think that is something worth preserving. LL did not grow into to what is by being the nice play by [socailly acceptable] rules kinda place. we got along with each other by not being afraid to call the other guy a cunt if required. I know off the top of my head more then a dozen LL members who hate my guts for my blunt honesty but I also know many more who respect and admire it. I have received far more pm's from members either thanking me for calling someone on there shit or applauding me for a simple honest reply then I ever have hate mail. What good is posting a SS and looking for an opinion if all you get are ass suckers replying on how wonderful your hideous character looks? if my char comes out looking like a TS who's op went severely wrong I wanna fucking know! I have no time for ass kissing and no patience for it so I prefer to cut to the point rather beat around any bushes. Also I think some of what your seeing may in many cases may be frustration on the part of those long standing members. I myself can honestly say that each day I see LL becoming a bit more like nexus and less like the LL I remember. I see idiots post about piracy seemingly oblivious to the fact that is perfectly legal, acceptable and even encouraged by many developers to port the content of one game to another. Even a ton of Daz studio content and content from other sources can legally be ported yet these morons scream piracy at every opportunity. I am even beginning to see idiots post here talking about how mods are illegal and to be truthful I will say now that I am close so very close to calling this crowd out everyday its the same shit from them. Then there are the Idiots and in many cases the same exact idiots who still do not get it that imgur will not work with LL. WTF is wrong with them? how many thousands of times does it need to said on these boards use another host? I am no fan of bans mostly they are pointless imo, but using imgur is something moderators should consider banning for now as it has been said dont do it thousands of times all ready. there is a whole freaking lot more as well but damn after this rant i need a smoke
bcE911 Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 My thing is if you don't like it go the hell away. No one is forcing the OP to come here and mod. If they have an issue simple fix...don't download it. Why don't Steam's Mod's just pop in and post a number to a local therapist for the OP and be done with it?
Kendo 2 Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 @GSBmodders That's why I think some of what's going on has to do with newer members trying to bring the subculture of other forums with them when they join. They actually believe what they were told on Nexus as Steam and that's why we have morons crying about piracy and rips when in fact there's nothing to it. Nexus quality idiocy is here and it will fall on the established community to shut them the fuck up until they get with the program. We don't need to change, THEY DO.
RitualClarity Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I don't believe there should be a problem being called out when a member(s) are truly wrong with a constructive criticism. When someone is wrong, they are wrong. It is also perfectly fine for individuals to have their opinions. This is what makes each of us unique. Many opinions might even be based on false info and in that even it does fall to others to help explain and back up the truth and dispel the myths. All of this can be done without the need to call people cruel names or revert to 12 year old on a school playground mentality. Kendo is correct that it is the community that either calls out these jerks (or reports those especially bad members) to help correct the rampant disrespect or face having this site turn into an Alt for Nexus/Steam. Moderators can only do so much to enforce the rules it is up to the community to set the standards of conduct. Which is it going to be... what do WE WANT for a community.. Do we want a truthful community were problems are resolved with respectful criticism or we want some Steam/Nexus/Reddit type of community. The choice is up to the community and the community alone.
Nixea Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Funny how I've seen a lot of shit thrown at reddit, but from what I've personally seen it's not even half as bad as I've heard so far. At least on the fallout subreddits. People there are fairly civil without cringeworthy butt-kissing, and the whole thing feels like a constructive community.

There is no 'real' reddit community. Or steam, nexus, 4chan whathaveyou community, for that matter. Just a lot of people visiting different places for different reasons. Reddit can be a cesspool, but that's to be expected. Bigger places field a bigger army of morons.
Chaos63 Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Ashal doesn't really give a fuck about our cross-site hatreds, and he's the most skilled modder I know. Figure if you're dedicated enough in what you do, petty insults and finger-pointing are about as important as a speck of dust. Maybe he's got a point. Or maybe I'm just getting tired of talking shit. Stranger things have happened.
RitualClarity Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 We can only deal with our own selves. If we are happy with our selves as a community it dosn't matter at all what others think. Many haven't even visited or joined our little world to see first hand on how we are or what we do. They are just concerned with reposting other's crap comments and concerns. I for one say screw them and their opinions. I personally don't care anymore what they think about LL. I am perfectly happy if they think this is (insert insults here) site. It means those too stupid to investigate the accusations themselves aren't likely to join and for that I believe we are all blessed by this. I is just likely they aren't "mature" enough to be a member here, so I say.. move on. We don't need your type here.
GrimReaper Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 The first impression is important, and LL had a bad reputation for a while, mainly because pirated games and ripped assets were posted here in the beginning without anyone really doing anything against it. Mind you, this was in the beginning, and many users here joined post 2012. But still, a bad reputation sticks. But what I really liked about the early days was that this whole 'us vs. them' mentality was completely absent. Petty personal feuds fought over the internet, bloated to the point where people like to talk about 'our community' and 'their community' a fun for a while, but they get old really fast. Oh, and not only steam and nexus users think that LL is still a thieves' den. People leaving the big communities to retreat into their own little safe zone on tumblr too often think that LL is still like that.
foreveraloneguy Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I thought the funniest bit was the guy that claims expertise in psychology and has pronounced us all deficient and/or perverted due to all our shortcomings and/or failures in the real world. Dunno... I find my "hypersexualized female character" with the boobs scaled to ridiculous levels hilarious during killcam shots. My (adult) daughter sees me playing sometimes, and we both laugh our asses off as boobs wobble all over the screen. That's aside from the fantasy art aspect of spending 10s of hours tweaking a characters appearance to get it perfect; to create something that transcends reality.

Most developers and publishers have zero problem with people porting assets from one game to another. It advertises there products, and if that is not enough fair use laws cover the mod author in most cases. In regards to daz3d items many are free they are shared on sharecg deviantart and other sites the authors in most cases have no problems with people porting them when asked. Even daz items that were sold go up for grabs once they are discontinued. The whole nexus omfg its a port attitude really dosnt work here grim. You also seem to have a completely different memory of how most of us ended up here back then, I recall most of the early LL mod authors came here after being banned at nexus. Hell even LL came into being after Loverspk lost its home on the old forums, so it has pretty much always been LL vrs the rest of the inet. Edit, I cant even for the life of me think of a pirated game that was ever posted here fucking double edit I was not going to do any more rips or ports. I stated that nearly two years ago and tbh I wanted to work on a few original mod ideas. My desire to piss people off however outweighs my desire to be original and so in light of the all the recent crying of rip and pirate I fully intend to rip and port every damn thing I can find

I personally have no problems with ports and pirated games, my point was that LL had a bit the charm of a warez community with porn mods, at least when looked at from the outside. It was a tad bit shady and all that, although mostly unintended, since Ashal made it clear that piracy and mods re-uploaded without permission are a big no-no here. It was just that nobody really enforced that stance until much later. The thing is, you don't check on everything to make sure the rumors are true. That's why the first impression sticks with you, be it justified or not. Hell even LL came into being after Loverspk lost its home on the old forums, so it has pretty much always been LL vrs the rest of the inet. LL was created because wolflore banned almost everything xLovers related. Many migrated over to hongfire at that point until Ashal gave birth to LL. It was a small community and the nexus hate train became a thing after Skyrim was released. When LL was mostly about Oblivion, things were much more quiet. LL never was intended as a platform to concentrate hate on other communities. If anything back then people here would've hated on wolflore because they almost destroyed the newly emerged modding community that was centered on adult mods, but they didn't. Edit, I cant even for the life of me think of a pirated game that was ever posted here There was a pretty large thread from a guy called LeonX who posted links to games. I guess the thread has been deleted now, but here is somebody referencing that thread if you don't believe me: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/9282-where-is-she-triratna/page-2?do=findComment&comment=209486

An yeah I was a member of wolflore as well under another name as far as it went none of had any hate for wolflore because we all had so much more freedom here, donkey suggesting I move the teams mods here early on was some of the best advice i got. But still that first year i remember most coming to LL after being banned at nexus, An LeonX I forgot about him entirely. wasnt he a spammer? I wouldnt exactly count that guy as having been a member all he was trying to do was cash in on ads linked to his posts but regardless it got posted here so yeah that point was valid and now my anus hurts

I wouldnt exactly count that guy as having been a member all he was trying to do was cash in on ads linked to his posts but regardless it got posted here so yeah that point was valid and now my anus hurts From my experience LL was more about continuing what started at wolflore and not about the nexus. I don't like that site either but sometimes I get the impression there's nothing more important than nexus, which is tiresome. I liked it much more when LL was a small dedicated site instead of nexus' rejects. And Ashal made it clear in the rules that everybody is welcome here, so no 'us vs. them' or the pointless hate about imaginary communities. In an effort to keep the general tone of LL as neutral as possible, topics about politics and religion were banned. In an effort to keep the site & community inviting and friendly we do not allow several categories of conversation. This is not intended as censorship or endorsement of any particular view, but rather a move to keep this site neutral and open. The categories of conversation that are not welcome include those discussing politics and religion. Too often these discussions descend into pointless bickering and lead to offending one party or the other (if not both). This sends the wrong message of what this site is all about. There are plenty of forums, blogs and other online outlets available for these types of conversations, this site is not one of them. Lovers Lab is first and foremost a gaming community. As such, we wish to be welcoming and friendly to all genders, orientations, nationalities, religions, and beliefs. Those who are not conducive to that environment will be dealt with in whatever reasonable manner we deem appropriate. What is deemed "political or religious" is up to staff discretion and no others. HanPL also posted/linked to some pirated stuff, if I remember correctly. Like I said, the rules were a lot more lenient back then. Even the rules regarding underage content were not as strict as they are today, which also caused a few members to leave (RIP Donkey).
xTrogdorx Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I was going to weigh in, but the original post has been sacked, therefore I don't know what was originally said. Furthermore, the thread, now in its 32nd page, seems to have completely derailed anyway.

GrimReaper Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Is that why donkey left? I thought he got all bent out of shape over someone criticizing his animations I'm pretty sure that happened after he left and that he left because of the nude children or something along those lines.
Shaydow Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 14 years ago when I met my wife ( then girlfriend ) she asked me why I played female characters in games when I had the choice to be a male. My answer is : " Females are lacking strong lead roles, in games / television / politics / etc. Why run around as a big burly steroid guy doing the same old cliche things over and over when I can play this small, 5 foot 3 inches female that beats the living shit out of the big burly guy?! What would make you feel more powerful in a game designed around feeling powerful!? Plus, I like looking at her butt way better then his. " She instantly accepted this. I wish everyone did.
