Aurora95 Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I dont, and even though its a problem i could easily solve i still choose to stay up long past my bedtime and end up having about 5-6 hours sleep a night Curious how many other people are like this? People irl think im crazy when i mention that im purposely harming my health for no real reason >.< i guess i kind of am...
Guest endgameaddiction Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I live with insomnia. My sleep cycle changes drastically. Right now it's good. I'm sleeping 8 hours, but when my sleep cycle changes I end up sleeping 4 hours most of the time. Gaming will do that to you. Hence my UN. But yea I hate staying up most of the day all drowsy and bloodshot eyes. I feel like this @_@ when I do. So don't feel like your the only crazy one.
Guest Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I usually sleep no more than 5 or 6 hours a night. For me it helps to: * Go to sleep always at the same time, and try to wake up always at the same time * Relax as much as I can before going to sleep (usually I read books for about 1 hour before sleeping.) * Think about easy things, not real things (like creating new worlds) while try to sleep. I am completely fine if I sleep 5 hours. Less than 5 are not enough.

Insomnia sounds like a nightmare to me...except you are actually awake x.x it takes me about 30 mins to get to sleep after lights out and that's too much for me, i hope you get over it somehow... Ideally i need about 8 hours... i do need to sort my bedtimes out too... i do read except its always "one more page...one more page...etc" :-) I count sheep,,been told you shouldnt but it seems to help me *shrug*
Guest Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 About books: they invented chapters. When a chapter ends I stop reading (except if I read less than a dozen pages...) About taking 30 minutes to sleep: it is pretty normal. Just relax in these 30 minutes and just think about something you really like. Do not count sheep. It is useless and boring.
tlrd Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 i dont really sleep good, unless i take some kind of sleep aid i just wont sleep till i pass out or faint whatever you call.

Easier said than done.. im way, way to stubborn i dont really sleep good, unless i take some kind of sleep aid i just wont sleep till i pass out or faint whatever you call. I feel kinda bad about this, i could sleep if i actually went to bed... but there are people who do really have sleep problems >.< you dont wanna rely on pills too much, ive heard stories about them making the problem worse in the long term
Cynical Misanthrope Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Nope, I suffer from Anxiety and ADD, so my sleep patterns is very irregular. One night it can be 2 hours, and the next 8 hours. And the night after that I might not get any sleep at all. I refuse to use any sort of sleeping aids, because the upcoming day I feel like shit. Only time I do actually sleep like a baby, is when I use Cannabis.
Vykroft Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Nup Even if I go to bed early, until 1AM I can't sleep.
myuhinny Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Usually around 5 to 6 hours sometimes less sometimes more. When I'm working out of town living in motels because of work once I get into my room I usually have about a 6 pack then fall asleep pretty easy. When I'm not working and I am at home when I lay down I usually start a story in my head and after a bit I drift off to sleep.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I guess I could use video game anonymous. But I'd probably fall asleep at the meetings XD Anxiety, depression and my escape from reality (gaming) caused my insomnia. Been dealing with it for over 7 years. I don't take any meds or sleep pills. I just live through it.
Gameplayer Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I should go to bed before tomorrow but the reality is I will go to bed hours into the morning. I blam it on having a good time. I think the world would be a better place if it would just adjust to my sleeping habits. Yup, Professors ought to be less cranky in evening classes serious why teach so late, when you know your going to get a guy like me that just woke up an hour before class.
Guest Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I'm gonna go off on a limb here and say I get 5-6 hours at least, though even if I wanted to go to sleep at like 10:00, it would still take an hour to go to sleep.
Luminar Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I dont, and even though its a problem i could easily solve i still choose to stay up long past my bedtime and end up having about 5-6 hours sleep a night Curious how many other people are like this? Staying up late is the only way I can get some me time in my current circumstances.
Effie Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I think i do c: My bf and i usually go to bed around 4am and wake up around 1pm ^^
Loogie Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I can sleep any time, any place. Except for my bed at the appropriate time.
germanicus Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I sleep only 3-4 hours for last 6 years during the night and 1- 1.30 hours during the day. So I'm stuck between insomnia and bio clock disorder.
robscruz1000 Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I dont, and even though its a problem i could easily solve i still choose to stay up long past my bedtime and end up having about 5-6 hours sleep a night Curious how many other people are like this? People irl think im crazy when i mention that im purposely harming my health for no real reason >.< i guess i kind of am... I definitely don't and for some reason when I get close to 8 hours I wake up bad (mad when things don't work) and when I get like 4-3 hours I wake up fine
Youwish1 Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I usually sleep for 4-5 sometimes 6-7 hours on weekdays before i go to work...but i make up for it on the weekends, i usually sleep for 12 hours on weekends LMAO. Edit - i actually hate sleeping in, 4-5 hours is perfect for me to be honest. I don't feel groggy or tired with that much sleep and i have a lot of good positive energy
roflcopter117 Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Most of the time I get 4-5 hours of sleep. I generally go to bed at 1:00-1:45 AM and reveille for me is always 6:00 AM. I used to sleep around 7 hours per night but my job had required me to sleep a lot less and I just kept to that routine ever since. Honestly though, 5 hours is enough for me to function normally, I find that if I sleep too much I wake up feeling even more tired and groggy.
Corpus Vile Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 No, but it's not that I don't want to. It's my fucking neighbours - the only other people in this whole building, and they live on the floor right above mine - they infallibly wake me up at 5.30 AM, no idea what their problem is. I even sleep with earplugs, whatever they do, it's seriously loud. After that, sleeping during the day is out of the question, since their pastime seems to consist of dragging incredibly heavy objects across the floor at irregular intervals.
Corpus Vile Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Hmph, sounds familiar. I also have loud neighbors around me in my apartment building. And all of that banging around or whatever they do makes it difficult to relax. It's an everyday struggle.Yeah, it might sound like an exaggeration but it really is. It wears the mind and the nerves, but what can you do.
Chaos63 Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Didn't used to, until I put two and two together...masturbation. Ain't nothin better for knocking a guy out, it's practically instantaneous.
legendarytoyou Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Surgeon General usually recommends at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep otherwise problems can occur. If however you're like my aunt and mother they've gotten used to only 5 hour sleep patterns. Only time my mom sleeps more than 7 it tends to give her a headache and bad morning sickness. Some people have different metabolism and sleep patterns so its always best to stick with what you find is more comfortable. Oversleeping can cause problems so avoid that.
EloquentlyUnbalanced Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Didn't used to, until I put two and two together...masturbation. Ain't nothin better for knocking a guy out, it's practically instantaneous. That works sometimes but it can get me a little too excited. I sleep between 4 and 10 hours a night, mainly because my sleeping pattern is so whacky. I'll probably sleep seven or eight tonight and wake up at 12 PM or 1 PM.
