Aria Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Of course they still have a cash shop so you can get EXP boosts and other shit to make your friends look like TOTAL NUBZ LOLZZZZZZZZ. Because why not pay 60 USD for a game and then pay them more money in a fucking cash shop. If you're talking about ESO, I think the only thing that would give people an advantage from the Crown Store is a mount to make you travel a tiny bit faster/cooler and maybe the item repair kits to repair weapons and armor after a long day's work. Everything else is purely cosmetic like costumes and pets. While this may be true, having played tons of mmos till now, it always begins this way and slowly turns into a milking RNG mess. I have lost all hope for mmos tbh, nowadays its all about how to cleverly milk your player base while slowly adding less and less content and putting in all sort of restrictions, time/money sinks to make you believe how much there is to do. To me most of the mmos today are nothing but second jobs.
...0... Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Weird ... all this hatred against the game almost makes me wanna play it ^^ But nah, I am still too busy blowing money up Bioware's and EA's ass with Old Republic, wanna see the EAvil EAmpire grow a bit more from my bucks before I support the "downfall" of the Elder Scrolls And of course everyone who hates it hasn't played it... How is ToR these days? I played it for a while at launch and stopped after my 3rd character got close to endgame since I realized that was all there was left to do. I'm not a big MMO guy, so I won't do the same dungeon over and over every day just to get armor that will make it easier to do the next set of dungeons over and over. Plus I mained a scrapper scoundrel and they kept nerfing my class till nobody wanted to bring me to raids. When it went ftp I installed it and checked it out but it didn't seem any different so I uninstalled again. LOL The same could be said about every single Bethesda game ever made, haters gonna hate no matter what. If I had listened to all the crap slung at Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and NV. I would never have picked them up or modded for them. Some people just have to have that kind of conflict in there lives. If you can't have fun in a game without it being strictly about LORE then what's the point of even playing a game. Is it not the game you pay for to make out of it whatever you want? or does it all have to be pre-planed with no pretense. are they not called "Roll Playing Games" , do they not always tell you to make your own Destiny. All they can do is give you the tools to do so, they can't play the game for you. eh what's the point. Not only do missing the point completely why some like me not play games like ESO, your explanation why, is so wrong in many ways that i wont start a discussion about this. Because i think no matter what you will not understand it probably, me thinks?
Molevalence Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Or if people were smart they would just play the game because they either like the game or just choose to. People are so hyped these days about what the game community thinks of a game they forget about their own opinion of it. If you like the game who cares what others think.

Agreed, you play games for fun, if you are not having fun playing a game, then why the hell are you playing it?

The Elder Scrolls Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing video game developed by ZeniMax Online Studios. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks Don't see what to hate here, two different kind of people/studios/devs designing two kinds of games, probably Fallout 4 and/or TES6 are already planned. So what's to hate really ... and why lose faith in TES? With all respect to some people here: Too much drama isn't good, wait and see how it goes and play some cool RPGs until then (26.3.15 is coming ... ^^ hopefully good ....)
...0... Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 That's not the point of why i am not playing ESO or against it, lol. By all means play what you like if it's fun for you i wont hold it against you or curse your for it Why i am against ESO it can ruined the whole solo series even more if ESO would have been a succes (luckely not comepared to skyrim) specially because it have nothing to do with original solo series it just borrowed its name and lore but its a totally different game. And we all know for ages there two different parts of the SAME company zenimax and bethesda but that don't mean both have saying in ones project to some extend. This is why i am against it and won't play it EVER.
jxm Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 But like I said, maybe I'm missing something in my understanding. As far as I can tell it deosn't seem like YOU are missing something here, so don't worry. You have it right with what you said... Elder Scrolls Online was a logical way to go, no matter if it ultimately was a success or not...I remember all too well that a LOT of gamers back in the days as early as Morrowind and Oblivion fantasized about an online-game set in the Elder Scrolls World, so I will never blame Bethesda/Zenimax for trying it... And I don't think ESO would ever have hurt the single player franchise, nor will it. In that regard, I am more upset about The Old Republic which seemed to have put an end to the KOTOR-Single Player games for the time being ... however, TOR is still an enjoyable experience for me, and I like it more in terms of story and fun than the single-player KOTOR 2 - which was a mess in almost everything.

As far as i remember they were fantasizing about something like co-op, to be able to play the game with their friends. Something i would love to see too, but i dont remember anyone mentioning an mmo, i migth be wrong though. But you are right the next logical step was to make an mmo, like everyone else that was out to milk their franchise.

Kamen Rider Kuuga Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 We already had a multiplayer TES game and it was called Battlespire. It was a massive piece of shit. Why anybody wanted more of that is beyond me. But then why anybody would want a fucking MMO of TES is further beyond me. Really, why anybody wants an MMO of any single player game series is a mystery that will always elude me.
bjornk Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 If you think that making a TES MMO was the next logical step, then you'd better prepare yourself for a Fallout MMO.
jxm Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 If you think that making a TES MMO was the next logical step, then you'd better prepare yourself for a Fallout MMO. Why not? But I don't see that one coming soon. In contrast to a fantasy-setting the Fallou-verse has much less mass-appeal needed for an MMO...but really, if they did it, I wouldn't care much. Play it? Probably not also...
bjornk Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 You won't play it? It may turn out to be a lot better than TESO.
Duoleb The Chosen Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 the guys from TESO reddit are datamining a lot of crap from the latest beta patches, and it appears that there's a lot of goodies coming up soon i think that Zenimax saw that World of Warcraft model is prone to fail in 2 years(not even Gold for time or sellng accounts for gold worked) so they moved on to GW2 model and they decided to listen TESLORE and the community atleast for once like BGS does most times when they arent bitching also Fallout MMO belongs to Interplay, so they dont want to touch that shit
bjornk Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 BGS listens the community?! Now, that's new. Fallout MMO doesn't belong to Interplay anymore. Under the terms of the settlement, Interplay no longer has a license to develop the Fallout MMO. http://kotaku.com/5874561/the-great-fallout-legal-battle-ends-without-a-fallout-mmo
Duoleb The Chosen Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 they hear when they want, but they still hear
pinky6225 Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 All the recent reviews of the game i've read on steam (after all the patching and dropping of the subscription fee) say that it is quite good now so next time i see it on steam sale (easter i guess) i think i will give it a try
kionee Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 I reinstalled this this morning, gonna give it another look see.....not too optimistic but I'll give it a shot.
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 I reinstalled this this morning, gonna give it another look see.....not too optimistic but I'll give it a shot. I'm not willing to pay for it. Betas didn't impress me one bit so unless they make ESO F2P You'll never see me in it.
Arizona_Steve Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I am actually playing it this weekend as Zenimax has opened it up to all the former beta testers who didn't buy the game. Interesting to see what they've been doing the last year or so. If you see "Arizona Steve" around Stonefalls, that's me...

Same here, if they make it f2p i install it explore the world a little bit see if its a bad as i think it is and uninstall again(f2p i will never play this its abominations that's not Elder Scroll period) . i must say this looks nice,
patches13 Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 The female armor is some of the worst I've seen in games, which is especially saddening in a TES game. Wish someone could figure out how to mod the armor though as the gameplay is good and the potential is there for a truly epic MMO experience.
Userper Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 lol, the only good thing about eso were the trailers, games full of holes, and it has a habit of crashing for no reason... then again it is an Elder Scroll game... guess they have to keep true to the legacy of es edit: lol I didn't mean to come off passive aggressive
Guest endgameaddiction Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Just stumbled across this today, and I'm sure many of you have as well. Elder Scrolls online has gone subscription free. This is good news for those who wanted to play the game, but did not want to pay a monthly fee for a game. I've heard some mediocre reviews when it first came out. I haven't played it, but since it's a free to play, I might buy it and check it out. Question is, do I buy it for my PC, or do I wait until June for my PS4? Or get both? Here's the link on the article if anyone is interested. http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2015/03/17/elder-scrolls-online-goes-subscription-free-on-pc-and-mac/ I know this is probably going to sound rude, but MMOs should only support PC. I hate playing MMO with outdated console gamers and there's never a revamp of the game because the consoles can't handle it. That's not the case anytime soon, but when the next console comes out it is. Or keep the console gamers for MMO on another server... I hated when I was on FF11 Online and I had to deal with the crappy outdated textures because till this day (I quit back in dec 2012) people are still playing that game on PS2. But either console or PC. I prefer keyboard for controlling over a controller. easier to use macros and such.
Arizona_Steve Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Wonder if I should be ashamed for buying this and actually enjoying it as a means of mindless entertainment...? Did stick to my guns about not buying it while there was a monthly sub, and had some familiarity with it as a former beta tester. I play it like I play Skyrim, with a minimum of interaction with other players. It does work as a solo game. Agree about the female armor. Needs some skimpy armor patches. I'm pottering around Deshaan and Stonefalls as of now, in case anyone happens to see me in-game (Arizona Steve).
