Do You Know Who I Am?

I might have found a bug in this mod, looking for confirmation:

The thief (sex) dialogue option from Sexlab Solutions isn't showing up any more. I just started a new game (not yet the dragonborn or anything), and I'm worried that somehow my dialogue is overwriting Solutions'.

I didn't think that would happen because Solutions uses a handler quest rather than editing anything directly, so in theory anything that modifies the vanilla stuff should work seamlessly with it, but...

Anyone else seeing this problem? Is it this mod, or possibly just my setup?

For the adoring fan comments,,, you could wrap them up in sarcasm and give them to Lydia :)

Lydia: Right... you are the Dragonborn... let me throw myself on the ground so the mud won't soil your hallowed boots.

Aah, that's good. Perfectly matches her world-weary attitude towards you. I always thought that, just before she said "I am sworn to carry your burdens" she should sigh and roll her eyes.

Lydia: Step over Dragonborn and let me take this arrow in the knee for you...

I wish I could do stuff like that for combat taunts.

"Skyrim belongs to whoever is tough enough to steal it from anyone weaker!"

I mean, I can do the text, but in combat, nobody's paying attention to subtitles, for the most part. Ah well.

I can show you where to change combat taunts if you need it.

I found that out when I took care of Alicia.

No, I mean that I know how to change combat taunts, I just don't see much use...

In combat, you're looking at the action, at what you're doing, who you're attacking or defending against, and not at whatever lines of text are on the bottom of the screen.

Or rather, I suppose I should speak for myself only... that's what I do in combat... the only way I get combat taunts is through the audio.

EDIT: Interesting... I just checked, and Lydia isn't the only follower who has the "sworn to carry your burdens" line... apparently all housecarls have that line. But she's the only one I've ever heard utter it.

Now that I think about it, I've never really traveled with any other housecarls than Lydia... and Lydia extremely rarely. Huh.

The others have the line, but she's the only one who delivers it in that way. Just like the jarls all have different interpretations of the "common rabble" line.

Guess you'll have to record the lines yourself. How are you at impersonations? ;)

Have you ever dialed a fax machine?

Her voice really sells it, though.

I'm sure the line was supposed to be delivered in a sort of awe-struck tone, but she comes off as bored out of her gourd.

Without what?

Sorry, but I'm not quite sure I understand...

You're saying that you are finding thieves without the (sex) option from Solutions, or you are finding them all with the option?

v10 is broken? (which would actually mean that everything from v5 and up is broken that way too)...

Excuse my horribly mangled engrish there...

I have not found any thieves yet in a game without dykwia v10 installed.

RNG has not spawned any during 20 laps of skyrim.

In a game with dykwia installed I did not get the SexSol option, just the regular dialog (not dragonborn yet).

Ah. Ok, thanks.

Seems I need to look at the thieves again.

Found a thief, turns out flowering spriggans also double as thieves... she had proper amounts of dialog.

I noticed that about flowering spriggans. I thought it was a bug, but apparently it's intentional... the idea is, just because someone is infected with spriggan rootlets doesn't mean they stop being whatever they were before then.

OK... I can't find any reason why Solutions and dykwia are conflicting, but apparently they are.

Current list of (possible) conflicts within Solutions:
Sanuarach Mine quest
The Forsworn Conspiracy quest
Toll payment at Valtheim Towers
Degaine (begging)
Riften gate guards
Riften jail guard
Radiant thieves (this conflict has been confirmed)

Note that these are not major conflicts, nothing game-breaking... just whichever mod is lower in the load order will take precedence, I assume... so if you're using this mod and Solutions together, I recommend putting Solutions lower in the list.

Do you know who I am?

I'm the man who is gonna burn your house down, with the lemons!

Probably a tl;dr

Okay, makes sense... I think I get it... it's just the bit about lemons that's confusing. Is it a meme that I'm missing or something?

EDIT: Derp. Cave Johnson. I must've played through the game, heard those lines, like six times now. Didn't make the connection.

That's it... some mod in the future, I'm going to have a spelunker named Son-Of-John who says the line. It's become a necessity now. :)

I raised dykwia in the load order and it seems to have fixed the issue.

Fixed the issue completely, or just for solutions?

I thought that the solutions options will override the dykwia ones... so with dykwia higher up, thieves will give you the (sex) option but not give you dykwia dialogue...

So here's what I'm thinking:

1. solutions

2. dykwia

Gives dykwia dialogue and stops solutions dialogue

1. dykwia

2. solutions

Gives solutions dialogue and stops dykwia dialogue

Is this what you're seeing, or is it better? i.e. are you seeing this instead:

1. dykwia

2. solutions

Gives both solutions and dykwia dialogues

Posted

Dragonborn / Alduin dead:

1. dykwia

2. solutions

Gives solutions dialogue and part of the dykwia dialog

It doesn't give me the greeting -> "I don't have time for this" -> Combat, raise arms, lower arms -> "I think you owe me some gold" -> 2300 gold added.

Edit: Previously I checked with a brand new char if solutions would show up again. I keep failing to run into thieves...

Ah, well. Too bad. At least nothing's actually breaking, just overriding... so I don't have to convince myself to delete everything back to v5 and redo it all without the thieves. :)
