T, I've been absolutely loving the disguise feature, these past few days have been deviously hilarious & naughty roleplaying out a secret double life.
 
Put together a map of what I'm up to, it's such a fun rush and thrill. wink.png

I hang around the green zones with my partners during the day and at night secretly head off to those other areas in disguise to make caps.
(Once I've turned off the lights and the Partner has literally went to sleep in a bed for immersion sake)
 
For a long time I only did [safe Sex] and used condoms + BunX to be safe.
 
But I realized I could make more caps going [unsafe] but at the risk of STDs (Sexout Wear & Tear).
There's that Doctor (SOI Enabled) in Novac that can test me for STDs but that's risky going to a local so I go to the New Vegas Medical Clinic instead for weekly checkups.
After I'm done whoring I have to make sure to use water bottles & douches to remove the sticky evidence in the swap & go spots on the map.
(Wouldn't want Partners spotting another persons Spunk on/in me or SOI peers see spunk on me or leaking out of me.)
 
The most interesting, fun and dangerously amazing part of it:
In my game Merchant Traders, Travelers, Hunters, Prospectors, Mercenaries and NCR Patrols travel all over the place, up and down the highways and visit the places on the map. (All SOI Enabled)
If I don't disguise myself they will actually carry word of what I do/did and rumors get spread to the green zones on the map and my reputation suffers.
 
That time I got caught:
A Merchant Trader passing through Novac did :Social: with my Commitment Lvl.3 Partner which I imagine told of the wonderful blowjob I serviced to him the night before the morning in game.
I got called a whore by my partner and all that hard earned Trust & Respect went into the negative and it seems now everyone in Novac knows what I do and no doubt word & rumors will have spread to the Trading Post where my other Partner resides, so busted & fucked lol.
 
I'm not sure how I got caught, maybe he recognized my voice and my luscious lips lol, it wasn't spunk as I over-do-it on the cleaning up in the swap & go spots, I've learnt that certain traveling SOI NPCs show up in Novac around lunch time and afternoon, can avoid them I imagine.
 
Realistically I believe I forgot to swap out the footwear once, laziness & carelessness lead to my demise. (That's what I get for using piece-meal clothing!)
[Rumor: Familiar Identity], [Rumor: Prostitute], [Rumor: Easy Lay], [Grope] !!!

 

Some suggestive thoughts & ideas:

 

 

Suspicious/Clingy Partners:

I've seen you state how if the PC is gone for long enough rumors might (not always) develop. That's a start.

Imagine the PC has gone missing for a long time or the Partner notices and will instead come looking for the PC in ***areas around the home marker.

Could imagine whoring at a location (such as that gas station down from Novac on my map) and out of no where Partner does SOIRunToPC and blasts me with [bUSTED!] basically them saying ("What the fuck!?") and all the negative stats with it, lol.

(*It could only be areas that me and my partner have both been too at the same time before, a thing & location they remember.)

(**And/or only Lvl.3 Commitment Partners will come seeking you out)(Clingy Partners who suspect somethings fishy (low trust?) or hear Rumors.)

Example: Traveling Explorer: Hey, I saw your lover sucking dicks for caps at <location of PC whoring>" (Partner visits & inspects <location>)

 

Things I'm not sure about is how the Partner wil get back to their original location / home.

Could walk back following existing pathing with risks of getting stuck or dying on the way (temp essential 1 or just teleport to be sure.)

 

High Suspicion (and Paranoia) can lead to...

Private Investigators: :fnSOIProcEval:Investigator!: - (Surprise factor - Don't show in debug lol...)

Suspicious Partners via :Social: can secretly 'hire' or 'ask' (if friends) a SOI NPC to investigate if the PC is cheating. The Private Investigator will either Stalk the PC (Not the same Stalk as rape) to watch & observe what they do/say or they will "attempt baiting" by seeing if the PC is willing to sleep with them, the Private Investigator at this point can respond with [Negative Response] and next time via :Social: cycle to the PC's Partner tell them of their findings resulting (either positive or negative) / bickering and negative stats etc, rumors. Or the Private Investigator could go ahead and sleep with the PC to satisfy their own Lust & Desire but could then blackmail the PC with threats of telling your Partner of what happened, similar to [bUSTED!] & [bribe].

 

What causes :fnSOIAttrbtEval:Suspicion: ?

- Long & abnormal absences, or clear evasiveness.

- The PC talks a little too much to a particular SOI NPC or shows great interest in them. (Dialog and multiple activities)

- A SOI NPC [Flirts] with PC in front of PC's Partner but PC doesn't [ignore] or [Rebuff] but [Encourages] or flirts back.

- SOI NPC brags about how great PC is / like the PC and via :Social: and PC's Partner hears this. (Envy, Jealously, Threatened, Retaliation, Insecure, Paranoia etc)

- Partner notices SOI NPC staring at PC's legs, ass or wolf whistling, too much admiring of the PC's aesthetics.

- PC doesn't give Partner attention / PC doesn't give [Affection], [Flirt] with Partner or turns down sex multiple times with Partner. (Less sex).

- Certain rumors, even if they're false or denied by PC.

 

 

 

Again, I understand things now are basic or not fully implemented or not just ideal, regardless the future is exciting once it gets advanced and I wonder what's to come.

I was considering these kind of things in the alpha.  Probably not as detailed of a scenario as you describe, but I did want to have Partners/Spouses show up unexpectedly coming to look for you.  Not just out of suspicion, but also worry.  This is also where my idea for long distance comms came from (for checking in via ham radio/walkie talkie).

 

As you say, it's a ways off as I'm still not certain how I want it to work exactly, and there are probably missing pieces to the puzzle that need to be worked out.  I would like to get NPC > NPC relations nailed down before I expand into this feature.

 

Great ideas, ty.  We'll get there eventually.  Glad you're enjoying it so far.  Love the map. lol

 

EDIT: In case you haven't noticed, I've split patrons into two groups now.  It may take the game some time to propagate these new settings.  But Patrons of the PCs alter ego will now only solicit when the PC is unidentified and vice versa.  So there should no longer be cross solicitation between patrons that know who the PC is, and patrons who don't.  Just fyi.

 

In short:

- Level 1 Patrons should only solicit if the PC can be identified.

- Level 2 Patrons should only solicit if the PC cannot be identified.

 

EDITx2:  Another thing I've long forgotten about is performing.  Performing while incognito should pay out more (mystery).  Though it's been a while since I put this in and it may still need work.

 

EDITx3: @MRM18870:  I forgot to mention one of the nuances of cycle speed.  Setting your cycle speed to full will make afteglow/rejection recovery happen faster, but it also makes everything else happen faster (negatives to trust included).  You might try playing with the different settings a bit to see if it helps.  Personally I play on double speed and so far it hasn't been too heavy handed for me.

I just started playing it and Im really enjoying the mod. I have a question, Im having Boone as a companion and a lover, we have been together for weeks and I want to get married, I did his personal quest, gave him gifts to make his heart and temper lowest, libido strong. Never even talked to anyone else, I dress in pre war clothing, dont have any issues and always traveled with him. He asks me on dates, give me gifts but when ever I mention marriage its either maybe or negative response followed by argument.

 

Am I doing something wrong, maybe some npc dont want to get married or should I be patient?

Here's a question, does the pip boy give you away? 

 

By that I mean, since I am changing every piece of clothing, but the pip boy remains constant throughout all the outfits, is it tripping recognition?

 

I am trying to push this a little harder, I have the courier outfit, which she is keeping clean of rumour so to speak, her trashy prostitute type outfit for nightlife and parties, but also a separate outfit each for Trudy and Sunni Smiles, and quickies with them in the Goodsprings Saloon washroom.:}

 

It seems to be working so far, but I am sure it will blow up in my face. lol

I have a question, Im having Boone as a companion and a lover, we have been together for weeks and I want to get married, I did his personal quest, gave him gifts to make his heart and temper lowest, libido strong. Never even talked to anyone else, I dress in pre war clothing, dont have any issues and always traveled with him. He asks me on dates, give me gifts but when ever I mention marriage its either maybe or negative response followed by argument.

 

Am I doing something wrong, maybe some npc dont want to get married or should I be patient? 

 

You guessed it first try. lol  It's probably his commitment limit.  You can find out by opening the console, clicking on Boone and then type:

nx_getevfl "SOIntimacy:CommitmentLmt".

 

1 = Platonic.

2 = Is only interested in sex.

3 = May be interested in boyfriend/girlfriend.

4 = May be interested in marriage.

 

The next part probably needs a lot more testing as I haven't really tested it (it's a long term endeavor).  But you will need to break him down once or twice in order to raise his limit.  His threshold attributes have nothing to do with this (heart/libido high/low doesn't matter).

 

What you're shooting for is to diminish his convictions.  There are a couple of ways to do this, but I'm on another box right now (don't grow old, it makes you absent minded).  I'll hop on another box here in a minute and come back and give some more detail.

 

EDIT: First you need to gain his trust.  Then drive down his inhibitions (talking dirty during foreplay will do this, as will successful coercion/seduction).  It will probably take some doing, as I've said it hasn't been tested since including it.  Just keep him in a state of trust and keep hammering away at his inhibitions any way you can.  Having PC influence greater than his willpower will also help speed up this process.

 

Eventually he should raise his limit by one.  I'll release a new one here shortly with some tweaks to it.

 

EDITx2:  This method also works for the following:

- reducing/reversing stalker/dominant levels

- stealing someones spouse/partner

- turning incompatibles to bisexual

- getting back together with an ex

- increasing promiscuity

It shouldn't.  There's nothing in that is specific to it.  Though I do use readius so my Pipboy is already removed from the player body (it's now a hand held device).

 

Well that's the rub isn't it?  I mean, how long can we go on living a lie before it all comes crashing down around us? lol  I mainly agreed to partner with Trudy so I could test more of the long term relationship functions, but yeah.  I too am often just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

 

Also a word of caution that some private places aren't as private as you think they are (GS Saloon restroom being one of them).  Any place that a complete idiot would know what you're doing should be suspect to you, and fall under this category.

 

EDIT: If it does blow up know that it isn't necessarily the end of the relationship.  You just have to do some damage control.

Try the new one.  I've added more variation to commitment limits.  Though most of them will probably end up the same.  I've also tweaked the inhibition dialog gains.

 

A few notes:

- commitment limit 1 isn't used currently, and is only there for potential expansion.

- age differences may have reduced limits (getageclass).

- gender profiles 2 and 3 may have reduced limits.

- gang members may have reduced limits.

- stalkers always have reduced limits.

- many of the above factors stack.

 

Something else I forgot to mention.  There's a way to jump start inhibition drain.  Find out what kind of gift makes the NPC feel sexy [Ask Personal].  If the item is something you can wear, wear it around them instead of giving it to them.  This should give you a nice head start on lowering their inhibition.

 

Also, the stat you should be watching to test is conviction.  If it keeps moving down, you're on the right track.  You want it to be in the deep negative.  Should be a bit easier with the new copy, but I suspect it will still be difficult.

 

If you can get conviction to move, then for some unknown reason it shoots back up again let me know.  As I said I haven't really tested it thoroughly.

 

EDIT:  This will only apply to newly added NPCs fyi.  You might want to start the mod fresh, or remove/re-add NPCs manually that you wish to reset to the new limits.  Oh and yes it is different every play through.

So I tried the new version and started a new game three times, went to every NPC in Goodspring, Sloan and some wanderers and  all of them, every time are only  in category 2. 

 

I assume mod works just fine and that im just unlucky.

Could be.  I'll look it over again and do some more testing.

 

EDIT: OK try the new one.  Re-upped.  Should work properly now.

 

EDITx2: Broke the last one.  Activities weren't firing during dancing.  Should be fixed now.  Also a slight adjustment to commitment limits.

EDITx3: And.... fixed more broken stuff.

Could not reproduce.  I'll need more info on how you managed to make this happen.  Which NPCs?  How were they added?  If you started the game fresh, what is your cycle speed set to?  Are you running or walking (I'm going to guess it's because you're still running)?

 

Also try turning on debug and scan debug and check the console.  It should tell you why they aren't being processed.

 

EDIT:  Yep.  Running.  Only gang members and stalkers will chase you down.  Which means that anyone else is going to ignore you when you're running.  Standing in place with run enabled = running.

Problem is when I stopped to play I realized everyone is stuck at "cooking" message, I tried reloading and waiting for longer period of time but nothing changed. 

 

 

Could not reproduce.  I'll need more info on how you managed to make this happen.  Which NPCs?  How were they added?  If you started the game fresh, what is your cycle speed set to?  Are you running or walking (I'm going to guess it's because you're still running)?

 

Also try turning on debug and scan debug and check the console.  It should tell you why they aren't being processed.

 

EDIT:  Yep.  Running.  Only gang members and stalkers will chase you down.  Which means that anyone else is going to ignore you when you're running.  Standing in place with run enabled = running.

 

 

Im embarrassed, I completely forgot to turn off running :D so yeah everything works great.

New one up.  Lots of changes.  Fixed a few things, probably broke others.  Added the wingman feature.  3Ways are now in for group proposition/solicitation.  You should be able to hotkey either NPC that follows you.  Once this feature settles in I'll be able to expand it beyond patrons.  Still needs work.

Nice means they're done making out ftm.  At that point you can either let it be and wait for them to come around again, or try and pull them back in with coerce/seduce/converse.  It isn't broken, but if you expect to always get your way based on some formula, or you're impatient, I can 100% promise you're going to be frustrated.

 

 

Every time you make out, you're not getting identical dialog choices (thought it may seem so because they're placeholders).  What you're getting is dialog based on the individual you're speaking to, and it's different for every NPC.  My personal strategy is to ignore any instinct to try and pose them, and get on with the game or move on to another NPC who is more willing.  They'll still be there when/if I get back to them.

The prostitution sex type options are based on their own request/preferences.  You don't have those options for lover because you're not being presented with a solicitation menu that displays them all at once.  Instead, you're making the same selections through a series of dialog choices as opposed to a menu.

Trust only takes that long if their heart is hard.  For example:

 

- I'm currently in a relationship with Trudy.  She is my girlfriend (Commit Lvl 3/Partner).

- Her trust has never gone above 10, yep 10.  Yet she trusts me because she is soft hearted.

- Her PC reputation is 1, yep 1.  This is because she believes that she is the only one I've ever had sex with.

- I go to great lengths to keep her from finding out that I have been a prostitute to Easy Pete, Chet, Ringo, and had sex with Doc Mitchell (among others outside of town).

 

 

Hm, what does PC reputation 4 and 5 means then?

 

How do I do that?  With effort and common sense mainly.

 

- I do my best out in the wasteland not to acquire too many rumors (only 3 rumors have been established so far at PC level 28).

- I make sure to Small Talk a bit each morning, so that she doesn't get suspicious through long absences.

- I avoid her when Easy Pete is around (he has lunch at the saloon every day while she's there).

- I don't behave/dress like a whore in public around her (together at my place, sure).

- I don't bring my work home with me.

 

In the special case that had frustrated me it was Ringo, he had no contact to other NPCs yet, and thrust went down from +60 to -100 because he came up with the idea I would be a thief, and did not believe my denial. I avoided already most of those issues that triggered rumors, I guess it might be long absence then - sometimes doing quests take several ingame days.

 

 

However I have a new problem with the recent version. When I seek privacy the NPC following had become less reliable. For example, I looked for a private place but the NPC was still unhappy with it ( again seek privacy, despite I did not see any other NPC ) and after this second "seek privacy" he refused to follow me.

 

In an other case a second NPC talked to me while the first followed me and afterwards he stopped following me for some reason. This however seems to happen only sometimes, because this bug did not happens again so far.

Would it be possible to make an MCM menu, or a status screen through the SOI console that shows you what people see you as? 

 

MCM = Never unless it won't work any other way.

 

As for the rest, it depends on the purpose.  If you're making a mod based on this engine, and you need this info at a glance, I would direct you to the debug console.  If that's not enough feel free to PM me with some details of what you're trying to accomplish, and I'll see what I can come up with.

 

If you just want to be able to look at an NPC and 'read their mind' so to speak, no.  This engine follows the anti-poser philosophy.

You should always get more choices than dirty talk and cancel.  So I don't know what happened there.  I'll look it over.

 

It may seem random because their preferences do change over time.  They aren't static/permanent.

 

A PCRep of 4 means they believe you've had sexual relations with 3/4 other NPCs.

 

When an NPC gets the 'greedy' opinion, trust should not dive that deep.  My guess would be that it's a combination of absence, greedy, and PCRep (PCRep meaning they've heard rumors/discovered that you're screwing someone else).  PCRep hits trust the hardest btw (except for infidelity).

 

I've worked on improving your issues since your previous post, so you may want to try the latest one.  I've tried to remedy much of what you described.

 

Denials are risky.

 

I did change some of the population count calculations recently trying to fix stalkers.  Where was the location exactly?  Note that with the latest copy, if any NPCs are very near, they'll count as present population.  This includes NPCs in adjacent rooms.  The distance may need adjusting though.  For example:  If Josie is in the restroom next to the restroom you're in, she's going to know what you're up to, and therefore will count as present population.

 

If you use the [Follow] option from the greeting, they won't follow you long.  If you're seeking privacy, they should follow you for 3 minutes roughly.  But it does expire if you take too long.

 

Also, you might want to look into a mod that modifies timescale.  The default timescale is 30, so if you're playing on default time will pass rather quickly, and thereby increase the chances of absences (if a mission or two is taking you several days to accomplish, absence may become a problem for you).

 

Although absence shouldn't really hit you very hard in the trust department, unless you come back to a ton of rumors, which in turn could increase PC reputation, which in turn will definitely hit trust hard.

New one up.  Trying to smooth things out a bit.  I've added debug to the scanner that indicates exactly who is aware of the PCs presence.  Just turn on scan debug and look for the 'Aware!' line.  Any NPC with this indicator will count towards population.  This should help pin down 'privacy' problems.

 

I've also added a chance to automatically raise the commitment limits of any NPC you commit to.  Also a few dialog changes to the process.  Further, I've added a clear to almost all of the negative opinions when you commit.  So when you agree to partner/spouse, they should automatically lose several opinions like PCIsEasy, PCIsGreedy, PCIsAddict, PCIsProstitute, among others.

Too bad SOI NPCs don't walk back to their original locations (standing spot/area of sandbox) after interacting/walking towards PC, either that be small talk, flirting, complementing etc.

I use Groovatron FNV drag and move function to move them back to their original location rather than leave them to just stand dumbly out in the open. Unless it's just me and they should?

Something like:

- NPC walks to PC, talks.

- SOI packages are cleared and removed.

- Set NPC to EVP if applicable.

- NPC chooses from their available AI packages and returns to them.

 

At that point, if vanilla/mod doesn't provide an AI package to run at that time, they'll just stand there until they're ready to run whatever actions they are normally set do.  SOI doesn't keep them there intentionally.  But if they do have AI packages they will eventually run them.

That seems why. After activities (such as walk) how ever they will actually return to their original spot, but when walking to the player to talk/flirt/complement etc they don't.

6:35 PM in-game and I'm waiting inside my home interior for a date I accepted. Clicked reminders in the SOI manager and got this? He does have a name, Karl. (Set with SOI re-namer).

Edit: 8:00 PM in-game, appears he was a no-show, not sure if that was because of an issue or if he genuinely didn't show up, talking to him there's nothing relating to discussing the date, Yes I have interior (and exterior) home landmark set long before the date, it's one of the first things I do when enabling SOI for the first time on a new save.

(My timescale is 5 both inside and outside as I heard anything lower than 5 can cause issues in various mods).

Malcolm is a stalker (not SOI stalker, but vanilla stalker).  All vanilla stalkers are banned, as they don't play well due to their unpredictable AI packages.

 

It seems the date lost their reference. This is why he didn't show up.  Did you rename them before or after making the date?  Which NPC was it exactly?  Did the PC engage in sex with this NPC in between the time you made the date and the lost reference?

Well I've added some debug for the next copy that should tell you when the ref is invalid and try to remove them from the date list (this is the script error you posted).  I'm still not sure what happened though.  Could be the re-spawn problem.  Might be related to renaming them.  I'll try dating some renamed NPCs to see if I can find anything.

 

Who was Karl before he was Karl exactly?
