Sexout Intimacy

I'm still having some trouble with frozen companions I've JIPed but I don't think it's the JIP.  Now it's Scrambler that's frozen and I didn't argue with him, I just had sex and he froze, standing in place after that act was complete.  T, if you need to see any debug stuff from my game, please let me know what you need and how I get it for you.

You mean with the sample beta?  Or the old one?  If you mean the new one then there's no real need for debug atm, as we could do that all day, because it isn't fully playable yet.  It would just be a series of you pointing out what I haven't finished and telling me to finish it. lol

If you mean the old one, note that it is dead.  There is no transitional accounting or backward compatibility.  If you try to use it and the new one you're likely to have lots of problems.  I still have mine sitting in my load order, but disabled.  No problems.  I loaded JIP again as a test.  Veronica, UWHNV bedroom, issued the relax command, instant crash.

Also you may be pushing the boundaries of what this mod was intended for.  If you like to micro manage every little aspect of an NPCs life, this mod will likely resist that (both philosophically and technically, because that's the way it's designed).

This mod favors free agent NPCs, and as a result, it will try to give your companions some autonomy.  This is where most problems with companions and this mod are likely to arise.

EDIT:  Updated.  Done for the night.  Back at it tomorrow.  Might try the new one and see if it's any different.  Did a little work on companions.

LOL T, I get what this mod is for and believe me, I'm loving it.  In my posts I'm only referring to this new beta.  I removed the old mod this morning and I know the ropes, I've help test lots and lots of mods.  But there is something going on when they have sex, it has happened on a few NPC's now and it just happened to Scrambler again.  I'm going offline for the night but I'll put the previous version back in the game in the morning and see if the sex works with that version unless you have a new version up by the time I get up tomorrow.  I want to see this mod get the attention it deserves!

Right but all I can do is guess at this point.  And the things you can do with JIP are insane.  So even if it's because this mod is incomplete, it doesn't seem far fetched to me that at some point JIP and this mod aren't going to get along for one reason or another.

For testing purposes I'm going to make a new profile for your beta test. If I need to remove JIP for testing I will BUT I feel what's happening isn't JIP related. I'll have more testing data once I get the new profile set up.  Your older version ran just fine with JIP so I'm not too worried.

LadyM:  Did you clean save between versions?  /curiosity

You know, I don't think I did, great question! I'll be setting up the new profile here shortly and will make sure I do clean save in between.

I'll see what I can do about the distances.  But if I remember right the close distance was a result of some idles not working with startconversation unless you're closer than 200.  I'll play with it.

There was another thing I've noticed about dialogue activation.

If the NPCs are using furniture markers, they either flat out refuse to talk (though debug says, they get the talking gizmo), they exit the furniture marker in weird ways (if you talk to a sitting or sleeping NPC and are just within the range that dialogue activates), or they get a weird "janky" zoom-in, if they do initiate.

Btw, while I was mostly hanging around in GS, my framerate drops and stutter are considerably reduced. So whatever you did to the scanner has worked for me.

Did an activity.  Activity was extended.  Actually got a [small Talk] that he initiated.  I didn't have any response options.  Uncertain if that hasn't been built in or if that's working as designed.

Random:  I see that there's an Agile stat.  I have no idea what that means, but the place I work at is currently (or says that they are) using the Agile SDLC.  Pretty sure Charon's stat is 0 for that, which is cool.  I guess it makes sense that ghouls would be more in favor of Waterfall.  /dork

I get that zoom-in sometimes but not like you've mentioned. I haven't been able to pinpoint it but it acts like they want to say something then instead of doing a 'Nevermind' it just does that janky zoom-in.  What the dialogue window does in my game is I get doubles now and it might be related to that zoom-in.  When I click on my hotkey and talk to them, the window immediately opens back up and I get the same prompt (usually small talk) and I click on it all over again but most times their reply is something different so I have chalked that up to the way the mod is supposed to work.  I do question why the window has been doing that because it is a new behavior.

I'm heading offline for a few hours but for today's testing I've set up a new profile and am starting your mod out clean.  I don't have any companions at this time but I will be testing it later today with companions.  What I WILL test when I return is your follow command and just use it on some 'intimates' I set up in Megaton.

On a side not, I do use TTW and the character I'm starting out with for testing is from the Capital Wasteland.  She's currently in Megaton.  I'll 'intimize' Lucas Sims, Billy Creel, Jericho, Moriarty and Leo Stahl.  I'll just run around in Megaton talking to these guys via your mod and see how it all jells.  I can't wait to get home to begin!

BTW, I just intimacized Billy and got the pink then the green but I have yet to receive a customize profile prompt.  I only got it once and that was with Doc Mitchell.

blol.gif I see you're using TTW also?

The profiler uses Doc Mitchell as an example.  You have to open it up in geck and edit it.  Just read the notations it's quite simple (mostly just uncommenting things and changing Doc Mitchell to whoever you're working on.).

I get the double talk sometimes too.  Usually when I try to rush.  I'll try to tune it up some today.  Sleeping NPCs should ignore it, among other things.

Also note that some NPCs won't do anything until they're done playing their idles.  ie. If you hotkey trudy while she's wiping mugs, she won't react until she's done wiping mugs.  So it needs some work.

Activities go something like:

- Start activity.

- NPC may or may not initiate dialog with an opening line.

- That opening line will be them expressing one of their opinions, or small talk.

- If it's an opinion or mood, the PC can then pry further into their personal details (Ask thoughts).

- If the PC gets past asking what's on their mind, they may then (Ask Personal).

-  After this, the NPC will process normally and say whatever they would have said according to normal play.

-  At the end of the activity they will offer an activity ending line.

Notes:

- You can walk away at any time and it shouldn't break anything (though they might get pissed for baling out on them).

- While engaged in an activity, the NPC will process at double speed (twice as many cycles in the same amount of time).

- You can use the 'Cancel' dialog option to end the activity prematurely.

Oh and the agile and strong stats indicate that the NPC is either more agile, or stronger than the PC (mainly for stalkers).

Ok T, guess I'll need to get my GECK going.  I don't even have it ready, it's been years I've opened it but I'll give it a try!  Thank you so much for the help.  I'm heading offline now.

EDIT:  Ok, I use Mod Organizer, my GECK is empty.  What files am I looking for to set up the profile?  Perhaps I can open it in the GECK?  I tried an esp and got a 'not valid' error.

No sweat.  We'll get it sorted out.  I didn't make a clean save btw, just disabled the old ones in the load order.  The reason I mentioned JIP was not to shift the blame.  It was just in the pile of things (including this mod being incomplete) that I have to point at atm.

I haven't even left GoodSprings in my rebuild so far, so there is a lot of accounting left to do.  A good way to follow along is to notice who is in the group manager.  ie. Once I add NCRCF to the group manager, you'll know I am at that part of the game and working on accounting for that group.

And thank you for the feedback.  If this does end up working well with JIP, players can thank you for helping me fix things.

I don't know how mod organizer relates to the geck.  I've never used mod organizer, ever.

Open Geck, click yellow folder button upper left, scroll to the profiler esp, highlight it, click active, click OK, it should open the profiler.

Find and click on 'quests' in the left column, type 'soi' into the filter search box upper left, you should then see the profiler quest.  Double click it, when it opens click on the script button '...', should open the script, then read the notes.

Replace DocMitchellREF with the ref of your NPC, read the notes, uncomment and set what you want, click the save button upper left, and you're done.  Might want to rename the esp file so you know which NPC it is (just navigate to the file in explorer and rename it).

Then just load it up in game.  If you're using the dialog method, find your NPC and select one of the profiles you've set up through normal dialog 'NOT hotkey dialog'.  If you're using the explicit method the NPC should already be set and ready to begin.

EDIT: New one up.  Did some tuning on the hotkey.  Let me know if you still get double talkies?

Also @Bruce: I'm not sure about the distance thing.  I put a distance check in that will report with a message to move closer if you're too far away.  But, what's strange is I couldn't get it to go off even when I tried.  In other words, the distance at which I lost my reticle for regular dialog, is still within the distance needed to initiate a hotkey conversation.  So I'm stumped ftm.  Or I've just misunderstood.

EDIT EDIT: Fixed the follow I broke.  Tweaked the behavior script.  Added dom/sub/party/patron settings to the profiler.  Re-upped.

Are dates one of the things that aren't completed yet?  I'm supposed to have a date with Sunny Smiles, when I go to the Prospecter Saloon after 6:00 she will turn to me, the camera does a  "zoom" like others have mentioned and my character disappears.  I'm left with a steerable disembodied camera viewpoint, trying to toggle between 3rd and first person view does nothing, but if I speak to Sunny or she speaks to me my character comes back, but no date.  I can speak to her and we can start an activity but there is no mention of a date.  I turned on the debug and she is saying "fnSOIDialogEval:(Sunny Smiles):says:(SOINPCDate):to:(Maria) when the zoom happens.  It seems like there is supposed to be something happening here and failing, since other people seem to be having sex and I can't even start a date.  I don't know what JIP is, don't have it, do have the most recent versions of Spunk, Pregnancy( Beta), and the 94b3 version of SexoutNG.  Is there something wrong on my end or is this part just not ready yet?

Yes thats one of the topics that I haven't filled out yet.  Nothing wrong on your end.  Good to see the dating thing worked though.

EDIT: Btw if you set your player home exterior marker you can ask them to meet you at your place for a date.  Also, after you've dated them once, you can then tell them to meet at your 'regular' spot and they should meet you there.  And of course you can always tell them you'll pick them up, which is the safest way to eliminate the possibility of being stood up.

Ok T, I'm making some progress.  I've learned how to use the GECK with MO and here is where I am with my progress.

medium_3501-040715044803-600971539.jpeg

I need help with Billy Creel's ref.  I'm assuming it's the one from the GECK and not the wiki.  Normally his ref is: 00003b5a but I see no place to enter that ID.  I am getting closer in learning how to do these profiles, it's what I really want to have working correctly to test your mod.  If someone can just help me a little further in the GECK I hope to be able to have a profile done soon.

In scripts you use the written out refIDs. Check Billy Creel in the GECK by double clicking him (or right-click edit in the cell list window), where he was placed in the world.

post-37-0-28663800-1436002170_thumb.jpg

The RefID is in the top-most text field. To find him, find the base NPC in the GECK,  and right-click ->"use info". There should be a field like "NPC used in cell blabla". If you double click that item, it takes you right to them.

As for the template, you really only want to set the stuff that comes before ""StopQuest". The rest are examples on how to utilize certain features of the system, if you are trying to do more than just setting up base stats.

@LadyM  Don't know if you did or not, but be sure that you've got the Fallout 3 esm enabled as well, or the GECK will look at you like you're crazy.

TTW says it's a best practice to make all FO3-involved mods have all NV (base + DLCs minus courier's stash) and all FO3 (base + DLCs) and TTW's esm set as master files.  I haven't taken the time to crack it open yet.

PS - Your life will also be easier if you copy the script into another program and then use Find/Replace DocMitchellREF with whatever character you're customizing (in my case, replace DocMitchellREF with CharonRef).  That way, you don't have to worry about missing a ref.

That was a wonderful suggestion but now I'm really stuck.  Every time I try to save something I get this error message:

I don't know what to do.  I'm really trying to get this to work so I can play with the edited version but now I can't save anything until I find out what that error means.  It's been so long since I've been in the GECK.  :(  I'm so frustrated, I can see the settings I want to use but I just can't get them to save let alone see if they work.

Make a shortcut to the Geck.  In the properties for it...

Target:  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas\nvse_loader.exe" -editor

Note:  Obviously replace the directory with wheverever your NV is.

Start in:  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas"

NVSE loader should be in your FNV (not data) directory.

@Lady: If this is your first time in the Geck, and you were brave enough to pick it up against all apprehensions.  Well you must really love your NPCs.  Hat's off to you.  Once you figure it out you may never be the same again!

Listen to Nyaa.  You need the Geck loaded with NVSE.  You're very close.  After this you should be able to rifle out a profile in a few minutes.  Also don't forget to change the dialog condition on the quest from Doc to whoever you're working on.

I figure that for this, she doesn't need the power up.

The template file doesn't have SO, SCR, or SOI listed as masters.  Don't know if that's on purpose or not.

That was on purpose to demonstrate that this file doesn't need any masters.  ie. Alter it, flesh it out, release it as your own set of profiles to share.  Should also make is easier to profile NPCs from other mods.  You just need the NPC ref.

I really appreciate the help and encouragement!  I have a new error now.  What did seem to help was the Target ID you gave me nyaalich.

I keep trying to find Billy Creel for the ID and all I can get is his house key:

thumb_3501-040715125253-601002168.jpeg

I AM able to locate Lt Hayes and change the script to his ID BUT sadly I get this error when I try to save:

thumb_3501-040715125303-601011436.jpeg

T, on a very happy note, I am elated to tell you so far no more freezing!  Whatever happened before was not JIP related.  I think it was because after we had sex, I thought it was over but sometimes there is additional dialogue or I'll get an activity complete message.  My guys could have been caught up in that and I took it for freezing but they did act 'wrong' so it might have been the version I was testing at the time.  My profile with Sgt McGee, Lt Hayes, Cook-Cook and Driver Nephi is really playing well!  I'm in Megaton now about ready to pick up Billy Creel and Sam Warrick - gotta keep the karma even, 3 evils & 3 goods.   :P   Then my horde will be complete.

Hmm maybe your NVSE is out of date, or maybe it didn't load with nvse?  It should definitely recognize let.  Might want to hold on for a bit.  I'm working up another profiler copy that can be used over and over.  Then you'll only need the NPC ref if you set them with the explicit method, and the dialog can apply universally (you just need access to the NPC to open dialog with them).

The freezing before was because I broke stuff.
