Honestly, I don't think there's any reason to worry about uploading adult screenshots to Steam. I've been using Steam for a few years now and I used to report people who used porn as their profile pictures all the time, only to come back weeks later and see that the pictures never did change, so I stopped reporting them.. I've even uploaded naughty screenshots and used adult profile pictures myself without any consequence.

I even just did a word search on the user agreement and couldn't find anything on adult content or pornography..

Still, guess only time will tell on the workshop question.

This looks awesome but if steam will ask for some payment for some mods well good for the modders but i shall be pissed off to hell and back!

^ the nexus is a home for those with big egos and banhammers and no respect but steam bah i say the nexus shall still be the main hub for modding her at LL will be the best of the best adult mods and at the nexus top grade mods for all with no cost at steam.....good mods with lots of updates (tytanis ultimate mod for example)otherwise integration with steam workshop im gonna hate it... id rather choose the nexus nazis over steam

that is my 2 cents they better release CK soon i wish to see all the glorious mod seeds here sprout into the grandest of free(as in freedom) mods for the community(as in no pay)

Design completed spring of '97. Announced probable release holiday '97. Demoed at E3 summer '97. Porting from Quake to Quake II engine wasted a year. Promised release winter of '99. Promise broken' date=' shitty demo released spring '99. E3 demo in '99 was horrible. Finally released spring of '00. Total failure.

When it was finally released, it was a steaming pile of outdated junk.

Yup, i do remember that, never played it myself though. It was one of the biggest failures in game deveploment. Well, until Duke Nukem Forever was released :D

So "next week". I'm assuming that means last week of February with luck, but i still say it'll take until june :P

I don't think worrying over modders getting paid is that big of a deal. I'd gladly pay for better bodies and other mods if there were 'pros' working on them' date=' personally. Would I pay for sexout? Probably not.

I think your concern will help kill nexus somewhat, because large things like project nevada and high quality bodies could easily become pay-for mods, but it won't kill places like this (LL).

May be difficult to find free ones on steam, but it's already hard to find shit in steam -- that's my one gripe with the system so far.

[/quote']

I'm not so much as worried as I am disgusted, if you think the existing community on nexus is bad now you have not experienced anything yet. Just wait until these communities merge then it will be drama, lies, and bs mutiplied by the power of 9

dont get me wrong it wont all be bad certainly some good will come as you suggested.

Question: Who's "old" enough to remember Daikatana? ;)

Back then I was still blissfuly lost in the world of work and baldursgate modding of and course shortly later BG2 came along and the modding scene exploded

So I never had time for Daikatana or Jade Empire. Its hard to believe it was that long ago

I never had the hots for junk like Daikatana. In those days I played Counterstrike in Chris Taylor's office, only to become a beta tester for Dungeon Siege in the following year, the year when a little dark one of my age disturbed my concentration with his misty vision of a Morrowind forum. Well, ten years after he might have found it fatal... *rofl*

Hum, so if it's arriving on Tuesday - I guess we will start seeing some more LL style mods coming across shortly.

Been very much looking forward to this: don't get me wrong the New Vegas Sexout mods are all great, but Skyrim is just so much prettier that I can't wait for that sort of content for it

Looking forward to it as well, just for the new scripting language. Should make a lot of hard stuff easy and impossible stuff just moderately difficult.

I'm curious if anyone has already gotten started with the animations we're going to need for this, or if the niflib stuff isn't caught up yet? No CK needed to create and test animations. Alignment might not be perfect, but that can be adjusted as the mods come out.

We'll know more ... on Wednesday ^^

You're probably right.

Not sure who are all the animators in the community are but if you look at the link below you can see who is in the CK beta. I recognized a few names but others are unknown to me.

It was nice to see a couple modders I do know though so at least some mods might hit as soon as it is released.

The only name I recognize in the list is cipscis but that name alone is enough for me. Not that the others are unknowns, I'm just terrible with names. ;)

The surprise is either:

1.) They're shutting down Nexus due to copyright infringement!

2.) Free horse armor!

Oh, the irony!

Well think Fook - JustinOther, throttlekitty made face, hair and other cosmetic mods, Fliggerty - Morrowind Armor Project http://www.fliggerty.com.

They are a few I am familiar with. But yea cipscis as well, I am glad they got some real modders not some save game posters (not that there is anything wrong with that, but no CK needed for it).

I'm sure many of them are recognized in the TES community, that's just not a community I've been involved in. Before I started working on Sexout, I'd never played a TES game; the genre isn't really interesting to me. Skyrim got so much hype I had to preorder. I bought oblivion just to play with the sex mods for inspiration.. ;)

Throttlekitty, Martigen, Fliggerty, Arthmoor and shadeMe are well known! DarkRider, DragoonWraith, SaidenStorm and Hungry Donner ring bells.

Then there are the Beth Staff, and doubtless Steam staff.

All I see is that this isn't the master class. Apprentices, okay. They smell their chance, and they need one, but if there's one at all, that's still questionable.

i hate how February is midterm month! i even have a midterm the day after CK comes out! WARGH! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ , not like i know how to use a ck though xD

I bet someone would actually make a mod like that xD, casting eroticism that cause people to masturbate

the whole bit of steam and game mods is market research' date=' beth knows that modding communities are popular but they do not know if modding communities could produce income if exposed to a greater audience

so this is a test to see exactly how many more pc users will use mods if they are shoved in the faces of a near captive audience

if Bethesda likes the results and Microsoft acknowledges the profit potential it could pave the way for paid modding which exists for 2nd life. casual modders of course will mostly get screwed as pro's from the other communities such as 2nd life, imvu and poser/daz studio move in and flood the market

Bethesda, steam and microsoft however will make millions more as they each would get a cut of the sales. Its not a future that i am looking forward to so i hope and pray that most people will simply ignore the mods that steam offers

[/quote']

from my understanding valve has the potential to be able to sell mods people post on steam, it looks like it is part of the EULA for steam.

personally i don't think valve has the balls to do that, or even allow players to sell stuff. there would just be too much backlash and hate from the modder community and the computer community in general.

sure maybe some would embrace the idea, but i doubt the idea would be embraced by the majority. there is something about company generated content that user generated content doesn't have, the name attached to it. to a lot of people, paying for beth content is okay user generated just doesn't seem so good.

i don't think i've ever seen people buy content from anonymous users on the internet and feel that good about it. sure SL is based on it, but the "game" is built on the concept from the start, and TES games aren't.

i guess it could come down at least to me is that free content from other users in TES games was expected because it has been up to the point.

i hope your belief is wrong, and beth or valve isn't evil enough to attempt to sell user content. whether it be allowing users to sell it or not.

it is a dangerous idea, it is bad enough that companies have monetized so much already.
