Bandits, not that I can remember. A mammoth is sort of a hard thing to shove through a small cave door.

It does look like it, but I don't remember a stair there. And IIRC it's completely square, no round bits. To me, it actually looks more like that place you get sent to to kill a vampire, the ex-Jarl in Falkreath sends you there... blood something. EDIT: Dengeir's great grandfather Vighar is the vampire, and the place is Bloodlet Throne.
