Jerbsinator Posted January 14, 2012 Author Posted January 14, 2012 I tried Saints Row 3...It was terrible IMO.
beck11 Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Vampire: The Masquerade-Bloodlines with latest fan patch.
drgonzo915 Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Vampire: The Masquerade-Bloodlines with latest fan patch. I've heard nothing but good things about that game, I've just yet to play it.
kevanlol Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 The entire battlefield series. Minus that whole 2142 thing.
The Matrix Prime Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Tried Dragon Age II? Its pretty good, so is its Legacy expanision pack - went just the way I hoped it would.
Rogue13 Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Arcanum Created by the company that did Fallout 1, the graphics are not good but the story is terrific. This game created crafting in games and does magic vs technology the best that it has ever been done. Also, Fallout 1 & 2
Guest ThatOne Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Well, Vampires the Masquerade: Bloodlines was a very, very good game back when I played it. The other three games I'll suggest are N.O.X., Ogre Battles: March of the Black Queen and Planescape: Torment.
gregathit Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Hell I forgot all about NOX... I played so damn long ago I forgot whether I liked it or not
Mashi Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Nox is very good. It's kinda like Diablo's little brother.
Shantotto Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines is worth playing it for the ambience alone. I've never been a big vampire fan (though I did play the PnP game for a while) but the world of Bloodlines is just wonderful to play in. Seedy, gritty, dark, gothic and creepy. It's excellent. It's a shame that the game kinda starts to suck a bit gameplay-wise after the 50% mark or so. But it's definitely worth playing, a unique game. Other than that, yeah... Fallout 1, Planescape: Torment, Arcanum. And GoG.com in general has tons of great, older games for very cheap. Many more or less forgotten gems there. The Ultima games, Darklands etc. Amnesia was mentioned and yeah... It's great and really fucking scary. If you ever get a taste for horror games, you have to play it. Scary as hell.
BrMaggot Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 I don't know if you like to play coop online. But i recently bought Dungeon Defenders with some friends, and the game is addictive as hell. Also the Assassins Creed games?
Evilokami Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Assassins creed 1 is an OK. A bit repetitive. AC2 improves on everything and it is very fun. Brother hood is a slight improvement. It moves the story forward and offers a few new game play mechanics. new areas. new weapons, new fighting style. AC: revelations. I did not play. I watched a walkthrough on youtube cause I had no desire to play it. I hoping for an AC3: they get off the AC2-ACR story.
Experiens Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Once again not what you're looking for but if I was locked alone in a small room for the rest of my life give me 'Master of Orion' the original game. Ah! I still play that game' date=' and Master of Magic. (I also like MOO2, but not of course 3). I've always thought that If I owned a games company, I'd upgrade the MOM graphics, increase the number of worlds and opponents and release that as a sure fire winner. [/quote'] i'd do the same. imagine a well done MoM with today's technological possibilities...
Cezul Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 I'd recommend Rune for sure. Classic hack and slash. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1mxlNHvlmA

Renax Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I recommend Age of Chivalry (free) Amnesia The dark decent batman Arkham asylum batman Arkham city beat hazard Bioshock 1 + 2 Borderlands Counter Strike Crysis + Warhead Dead Rising Dragon age Origins Fallout 3 Fallout New Vegas Far Cry 2 Garry's mod Half Life Half Life 2 (all episodes) Killing Floor Left 4 dead 1 + 2 Grand Theft Auto IV Mass effect 1 + 2 Metro 2033 Mirror's Edge Mount and Blade Warband Portal 1 Resident Evil 5 S.T.A.L.K.E.R Games (+mods) Sam & Max series Super meat boy Team fortress 2 (free) Tes: Morrowind Tes: Oblivion Witcher 1 + 2 Prob many i forgot, but those i managed to think of now quick
Loveryus Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I like Bloodrayne 2 a lot. It has one of the hottest videogame babes Rayne, very sweet killingmoves with a lot of hilarious gore and blood, and you can play it for only 20 minutes and continue another day, cause the quests aren't that tense and the game isn't addictive. It's great to let out some anger on npcs and has a nude patch aswell.
Cercis01 Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 The Void Ground Control Tron 2.0 Deus Ex Supreme commander Any one of those is a good bet.
Surenas Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Played it in 1997, aged 10. Since then I go for bananas... Leisure Suit Larry 7 – Love For Sail
Guest GingerTom Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 If anyone is still interested, here's one of the best turn-based games ever made--that I thought was lost for ever. I decided to look for it again last night--and found it. Turn Based Strategy Game and a member of 4x genre (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate.) It appears to have had a second life. Same old game, new people (single player or multi-player.) Good old games never die... The graphics in the game are rudimentary, which is not surprising given its age. It is entirely 2D, and the graphics consist of the main map view and static pictures of planets, ship hulls and components. Even battles consist of moving unanimated icons around a grid. This does have the advantage of allowing the game to run on almost any computer, and it can even be run on Linux systems through the WINE system. I recommend the 2.6jrc4 download. (This game is now free.) Look around the links/connected sites and find a player's manual and a guide etc. Make a folder and put everything in there to make it work. It was written by Jeff Johnson and Jeff McBride with help from Jeffrey Krauss (collectively known as the Jeffs) and published in 1995. It has kept people addicted for years, and still supports a loyal player community.) Here's a good quote: 'Haven't figured out how to answer the poll. But I'm over 50 and my son is 21. He remembers me playing this game way back when. I lost it sometime ago but he always heard me say it was the best strategy game ever. So, he found this stuff and all, so I could play again. Smile And he's playing it with me which is just great!' Enjoy Stars! http://wiki.starsautohost.org/wiki/Main_Page And More Here: http://starsautohost.org/sahforum/ More quotes from the players: http://starsautohost.org/sahforum/index.php?t=msg&th=4948&start=0&rid=&S=7f10dd5ee565aa90b8067cc94a1fe43a
astymma Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Favorite RPG: Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines Favorite RTS: Starcraft series Favorite MMO: A Tale In The Desert or pre-CU SWG Favorite TBS: pretty much anything by Avalon Hill Favorite FPS: the original Quake Those are all the games that I got enormous amount of enjoyment from in relation to the cost of owning the game. Well worth it.
The DarkSlayer Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 YS Series! Love the combat and the awesome Boss fights. JRPG's but most them have been translated.
Tossie Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Tribes: Ascend Gotta go fast Fortune Summoners: Secret of the Elemental Stones The Total War games Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War I and II (You can skip Soulstorm, the only good in it was Boreale) STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat Sanctum X3: Terran Conflict (Brace for a brick wall of a learning curve) Thief: Deadly Shadows Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines Darksiders Mirror's Edge Dem Touhous Star Wars: Republic Commando Alice Madness Returns Blur Deus Ex and Human Revolution Batman Arkham Asylum and City Half Lifes Crysis Kerbal Space Program Mount & Blade Warband (The first one is obsolete and the last time I checked the guns in With Fire and Sword were quite overpowered) Several are multiplatform, but they're good games nonetheless.
demongoat Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 just because it is still awesome: nethack! the first real rpg, copied endlessly by everyone and their dog. including blizzard
