Guest Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Here are a few indie games (besides minecraft LAWL) that you really should play at some point: -Dungeon Defenders. It's charming, fun, but best played with friends -Magicka. Hilarious, highly recommended. Play with friends though. -Terraria. It's not a "minecraft rip-off". In a lot of ways, it's much better than minecraft. It's very well done. Play with friends for the best experience. -Killing Floor. It's constantly compared to L4D but in my opinion it's much better. Fight waves of specimens (THEY AREN'T ZOMBIES!). There are a variety of classes that can be leveled up with different advantages, there's a solid variety of weapons and the specimens are cool and interesting. On top of that, It has some of the best map design that I've seen in a while and there are a TON of custom maps you can download in the game that are really cool (Arcade skatepark is my favorite) as well as certain weapon packs and such that really add to the experience. You can play in servers of up to 6 players and friends aren't really necessary to fully enjoy the game. Highly recommended. -Dungeons of Dredmor. One of my all time favorites, it's absolutely hilarious and is really fun. -The polynomial. A small yet interesting and fun game that can't really be described. Check it out on steam (like the rest of the games). -Mount and Blade Warband. Combine total war with total warrior and you kind of get this game. It's absolutely awesome armies clash in battles that you can also participate in. Multiplayer is not newb friendly however. -Trine 2. Very fun and unique. The graphics are gorgeous and it has some great puzzle and level design. -Skyrim LOLJKLOL -Realm of the Mad God. It's dubbed: "The Fantasy third person Shooter MMO" and it's just that. The game has very primitive graphics with 2d sprites with less detail than Terraria but that isn't the point. The combat has you and enemies shooting "bullets". The game is tough for newbies and it doesn't help that perma death, yes, perma death is a feature in the game (your character dies, and you have to make a new one, any items in your vault are kept, but the character and their inventory dies with them). It's tough and intense. Also there is no tradeable currency (only gold achived through micro-transactions. It's a free MMO with optional transactions. Read the wiki at wildshadow.com for much more info. Despite these things, it's a really fun and addicting game. I love it. Hope this helps!
Guest flingingfeces Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Titans Quest Guild Wars Looking forward to TERA Edit-Oops TQ in first post sorry Jerb. Still I love this game so much.
Jerbsinator Posted March 18, 2012 Author Posted March 18, 2012 I'm playing Assassins Creed right now. Fun game but is there ANY point in collecting the flags? And yes FF, I enjoyed Guild Wars, though the weapon and armor selection was very disappointing. Still though, it's arguably a better MMO than WoW is. Guild Wars 2 is going to be amazing.

I am what you would call a PC elitist, I hate consoles, period (well...except Nintendo, I love them, even when their consoles do poorly).
ElvenScoundrel Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Play Jade Empire. Fantastic game from BioWare, IMO the only decent game they've dished out in quite a while. Also, STALKER, if you haven't played it.
