I wonder how the NPC wear and tear feature works. Is there a way to reset the npcs on that record? Like i can do with myself in the mod menu.

 

Great question. There is no way to reset an NPC's W&T. 

 

That is primarily the reason it is optional, and by default it is turned off in MCM.

 

There probably will not be a way to tweak the individual values on NPCs, but rather a way to override all "known followers" back to Virgin state (or maybe also level 1, right above Virgin).

 

Right now NPC W&T values don't degrade over time like the PC's, which is why this is Beta, and I made it an optional setting. Sorry about that.

 

The next steps in subsequent releases:

 

1. Adding W&T degrade effect to NPC's. (next Apropos release)

2. Add MCM options to manage follower's W&T states - either a brute force "back to virgin", or a two-switch option: back to virgin (level "0"), OR back to "tight" (level "1"). Hopefully soon, but not the next Apropos release.

My area got hit with a pretty big ice storm and knocked down a bunch of trees, so I've been out of it for more than a few days. But I got power back yesterday and settled down for some good ol' Skyrim. I noticed something with Apropos though. Firstly, regarding the W&T portion, my character's Vaginal rating never lowered once it got to Battered. Once there, is it locked in for good? Also, I noticed that my Anal and Oral ratings will eventually reset to Virgin. Any thoughts?

That's an interesting observation. Progammatically, they are treated identically. Can you post an Apropos0.log for over 12 hours of in-game play-time? If you have Debug and Trace messages turned on in MCM for Apropos we should see things like:

AproposWearAndTear.ReduceWearAndTearAmount(bla bla bla)

In your logs that show that the degrade spell is slowly reducing your W&T stats. The degrade spell runs, degrades all the stats by a certain amount, and then waits 12 hours, regrades all stats, etc.

Consensual sex, on the other hand, would be a little more tricky, since you have to distinguish between penetrating animations and non-penetrating animations.

 

Additionally, there is a wish-list feature that I want to suggest. It will help you very much down the line if you wish to add new descriptions. Instead of hard-coding the text replacement variables such as {COCK} and {BOOBS}, let your JSON interpreter scan SexPart_Synonyms.txt first, record all its top-level entries and use those as text replacement variables. This way, you and your users can add additional synonyms for any other words or phrases in the descriptions.

 

For example, if I want synonyms for "large". I can add this entry to the SexPart_Synonyms.txt:

"large": ["large", "big", "huge", "giant", "massive"]

and then use it like:

he caresses her {LARGE} {BOOBS}.

(Also, the SexPart_Synonyms.txt should probably be renamed if this feature is implemented. Perhaps to Apropos_Synonyms.txt?)

 

Again, this is just a wish-list low priority suggestion, but I think it will help you and your users greatly in the future during the text content development of this mod.

@FrankJWilson - yes they have said back in the thread they will eventually support F/F, F/M, M/M etc but for now this is best a beta test to get all the bugs worked out before they start expanding things to much.

When i started working on this mod with Foxyvixen we had no json files, heck we didn't even have external files! Everything was hardcoded. I think your idea is a lovely one, and is a natural extension to where we are right now. So, we will ultimately have two kinds of tokens then - those that are specifically "looked" for, for non-random substitutions (e.g. W&T state substutions, Arousal substitutions, etc), and random synonym substitutions. Shouldn't be too hard actually because we have the necessary support. Thanks!

Just tried the mod, 2 problems.

So I was having issues with the initial message not firing, and the finishing messages all firing (like 3-4 all at once), though the initial message was showing in the console.  However, in the process of doing a "Clean" reload of Sexlab using the MCM Sexlab debug functions (because the Voices plugin wasn't working right), along with upgrading to papyrusutil 1.9, those seemed to fix the problems I was having.  Figured that if anyone else is seeing the same issues, you might try something on those lines and see if it helps.

 

Also, one suggestion for the future - it might be nice to have a slider to control the rate of change/rate of renewal on the wear/tear numbers, so it could be adjusted to taste.  Another thought would be to have a spell/potion to help heal some of it (or link it to an existing heal spell or something).  Might even be interesting to have a quest/ritual that restores virginity, but that's merely brainstorming for a wish list, as I understand general functionality is the primary goal at the moment.

I've finally gotten mine to work but I've noticed that animals are only mentioned during a rape such as with Sexlab Defeat. When you use a spell like Beast Tamer (calm, pacify, harmony), or the Matchmaker spells, then Apropos ignores animals.

Maybe remove the 'rape' tags and have the animal messages trigger regardless of whether consensual?
Also, dog gets ignored right now regardless, it's not been coded.
