Hi everybody.

I've started a new Skyrim Mods Review Channel.
It's called SKYRIM WATCH.
I'm not the only one out there, but I try to do my best to put some crazy twist (and some machinima) in each vids.
Like in this one.

Not Only skimpy Armors.

The Empire is in danger... But a friend from the Dark Side is going to teach Ulfric and the Stormcloaks a lesson. (I told you It was not only skimpy armors)

I just saw the trailer. Implantation of several mods into the movie is great. Brilliant job. I'm glad you started this thread. Thumbs up for your plans and works.

Hi everybody.

It has been less than a year when I've joined LoverLab and its community.

I've been quite active with a lot of posting but I've never started a Topic of mine.

This is about to change.

Some updates guys!

The new SKYRIM WATCH CHANNEL TRAILER is up. I've made it with the help of a dear one... Well... Watch and you will know.

There are too many mod review channels and videos on YouTube already. However if you do plan to review the more, shall we say "obscure" mods, then good on you :) I don't think that's been done at all, though the reason is probably because it would be risky or difficult to do so without a YouTube partnership. So be careful on that!

That said, best of luck with it :) I'll keep an eye out for the upcoming videos, and if I may give you an advice/suggestion:

-Get a professional stand-microphone and some sound-proof "plating" for whatever room your audio recording machine is in :) Professional Microphones aren't as expensive anymore, but even if they were, the quality of your videos will eventually start paying off not only for the investment but a lot extra as well.

That's an interesting feedback. I've found out a "loverslab" gameplay on youtube. Was very funny. Of course all the rape stuff was obscured by a big Loverlab icon.

I think I will avoid the rape stuff and bestiality. Not everybody is as open-minded as here and so is better not to be accused to sustain "rape culture". Better leave some stuff in the underground.

I'll try to engage with consensual sex and mod here which have a real gameplay effect.  Something beyond the sex animation (which of course will be pixelated). All with a lighthearted mood. Hope I won't get into trouble!

Regarding the microphone can you elaborate a bit more? I really need some help. Actually the audio recording is indeed a bit of a mess.

The microphone is quite good (auna, something...), but I still haven't understood the best distance from my mouth.

You can just build a "tent" from blankets and pillows and crawl inside it with your microphone. You'd be surprised at how well this works. It's so easy and effective. I've done this and just used the crap built in microphone on my laptop and the sound was decent. :o

I don't have a channel myself, and aside from having my guitar plugged where the microphone goes I don't do a lot of recording :P but I do know about sound quality and can definitely tell when whatever/whoever I'm watching also understands about it. With that said, I think your best bet will be to go to a Youtube channel that they are really invested into either gaming podcasts, let's plays and what not, and ask the Youtubers themselves.

A good example of a great gaming Youtuber with not only a great voice but also a very high OCD when it comes to audio quality (he's actually a voice actor) is Jesse Cox. He is also part of a gaming Community/Network, and within that network he along with usually 3 others do a gaming podcast each week called Cooptional Podcast (only reason I'm explaining this in particular is because each of the people in that podcast also have pretty great gear and are both knowledgeable and helpful.

With all of that said, I would recommend sending Jesse (or any other Youtuber you deem worthy :P) a message asking about their gear, and the sound-proof plating in particular. I'm not 100% what kind of plating Jesse uses or where did he buy it, but I know he himself has spread the word around about that plating to a few of his network colleagues, and I'm sure he would help you out if you tell him what you're trying to do.

-The Microphone Jesse uses is: VO:1-A with RODE PSA 1 Swivel Mount Studio Microphone Boom Arm (pulled out of his FAQ on his website), and having watched maybe -too- much of his content :P I can say it's a really good one, but then again I'd advice you to ask personally either way, and maybe not focus on a single Youtuber but ask a few of them at once.

The sound proofing is the thing I have least information about but I can tell you without a doubt it's one of the most important things. If you have a good microphone sometimes it's even hard to tell if someone is or isn't using sound proofing in their recording room, but as soon as you hear someone -with- that plating it really makes a difference.

-

Anyway :P Sorry I don't have very specific technical information to share with you but hopefully it won't actually be too hard to come by that information. Also if you go to any of these channels to ask them for information, make sure to also make those inquiries available in the comments section of whatever video you're watching, as a lot of the fans from these people are also very useful, and while some might not have their own channels a lot of them do have quality gear.

Hehe I can see how that would work :P but I imagine for someone who is trying to embark into professional video-making would find that very awkward eventually :P especially if there are more than one person involved, which by the sounds of his first video it seems there will be.

It's just a heck of a lot more convenient to put some plating around the room. It doesn't need to be fully dressed as a recording studio either.

It sounds like his girlfriend is involved. I think that they could have fun under a blanket and pillow tent. ;) They might find it quite satisfying and entertaining.

They probably already do have their fun in that regard, but it's a different story when you're trying to produce some professional work :P

Thanks guy. You make me laught. And really thanks to all those tips.

The microphone of Jessie is about 300 $. The one I have is 60 $... so, yeah I suppose mine is not on the top class.

For now I prefer to save the money (there is also a PC hardware upgrade coming). But the Rode PSA. I can do it now.

It's a bit costly... but after some video recording I can see its usefulness. I've got a simple tripod, now. And It doesn't fit well between keyboard and monitor. I have to bent my head to get near. And every time I bent the head is never at the same distance from the mic.

So you have different audio gains which then I try to regulate manually in the editing... and it all became a mess. So an uncomfortable mic position lead also to a degraded audio quality.

The planting sound tough... because I'm going to move soon in a kind of open space...

well... it will be me, sylv and a tent!

Hehe good luck then :) Can't wait to see what you come up with next.

As for the microphone and the price, yeah don't worry too much about it if it's too expensive, though there are other alternatives. On the other hand something gvman mentioned, sometimes a nice sound-proof plating in your room can equalize things a bit if you don't have a top notch microphone.

That said, Jesse and the other Youtubers I mentioned, plus most of the "big ones" on Youtube already have that YouTube partnership I was talking about, and there are a lot of benefits to that, one of which is the pay check :P So to them it's even easier to "invest" in good gear.

With a bit of effort you'll get there too I'm sure :)

Cheers!
