Coding_Onion Posted August 17 Posted August 17 Just randomly stumbled over these news- thanks, i am really curious to see what they will break this time in the name of 'improving' creation-club.

At the time, it puzzled me that a large portion of players were still on LE. Now here I am on 1.5.97 and will die on that number. Respect to all the LE veterans 🫡 2

belegost Posted August 20 Posted August 20 (edited) Well, it's not like I've been playing Skyrim much in the past year. Think I finally burned out, especially after spending 3 weeks last September/October on installing all the bells and whistles on a brand new machine. And I still haven't even fine tuned majority of that stuff to this day. This might actually be a final straw to put a cap on it and free up those 500GB of disk space. Edited August 20 by belegost 1

I sacked off FO4 after it's 'next gen' update as cba trying to make a modlist that worked any more. Dread to think what it was like with the AE update they then released after that... Might also be time to put Skyrim down as well... Edited August 20 by ebbluminous
Coding_Onion Posted August 20 Posted August 20 Having done a bit of web browsing it seems to have introduced a possible crash to desktop when using the map on vanilla and mods are broken (as per usual). Does anyone have a wider picture on how bad it is this time around?

alyshia Posted Saturday at 07:59 AM Posted Saturday at 07:59 AM so did anyone had issue with update when using mods yet? Just curious

greenmango12 Posted Wednesday at 08:29 AM Posted Wednesday at 08:29 AM Seriously, I've been putting off moving to AE forever, but I finally decided to do it so I could update my own mods. I went through all the trouble of completely isolating my old SE setup, reinstalled Skyrim from scratch TODAY, and started setting up a fresh AE environment. Then I checked the game version... 1.7.99. Apparently it was updated just a few days ago. I'm actually crying. LOL No, seriously. I'm crying. 😭
Grandrobon Posted Wednesday at 09:04 AM Posted Wednesday at 09:04 AM (edited) I am on 1.5.97 and will stay there, I am sure another update will come. From a reddit post (2 years ago): People think 1.5.97 is the last one then 1.6.3 rolls out. People think 1.6.3 is the last one then 1.6.6 rolls out People think 1.6.6 is the last one then 1.6.13 rolls out People think 1.6.13 is the last one then 1.6.1170 rolls out And now you are telling me you think 1170 is the last one? As it turns out, nope, 1170 was not the last one..... Edited Wednesday at 09:04 AM by Grandrobon 1
Grey Cloud Posted Wednesday at 12:18 PM Posted Wednesday at 12:18 PM I'm on 1.5.97 but judging by the number of Nexus notifications I've had over the last few days it would seem mod authors are updating their mods at a rapid rate. 3 hours ago, Grandrobon said: I am on 1.5.97 and will stay there, I am sure another update will come. I'm crying. 😭 As of right now, the top-trending mod on nexus is the downgrade tool to change your game version to 1.6.1170. (SDT - Skyrim Downgrade Tool.) It's worth looking into if you can't wait for mods to update to the new version - although quite a few of them are starting to do so. I got stung by the update myself. I was convinced I'd set my game to only update on launch (as I always have done) but Steam apparently ignored that and just did it anyway before I could catch it. I was going to just wait for mods to update but decided to give that tool a go in the end. It worked flawlessly for me and I'm back playing again. 1

What I was sad about was that, with things as they are right now, I can't update my own mod for the new version anytime soon. My old SE 1.5.97 setup is actually completely safe. I run it through a separate MO2 instance, on a completely separate drive, isolated from Steam, so I can still play it just as before. So I can keep updating my strange mods. lol I intentionally updated only my AE installation through Steam because I wanted to build a fresh AE environment first, and then work on updating my mod for AE as well. So I haven't lost my old setup or anything. I was just disappointed to discover that I picked probably the worst possible time to start rebuilding for AE. lol 1
belegost Posted Wednesday at 03:12 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:12 PM I just saw a video claiming that with the new update, Skyrim crashes after opening map 4 times, regardless of platform. Anyone can confirm it?

Anyone can confirm it? It seems to mainly affect xbox and in one of the vids on YT about this fiasco, 4 times is the count even if no 4 happens several hours later. Bugthesda are aware of it and working on a fix. Yeah.... This update was mainly aimed at consoles and increasing the space on consoles for mods but that got messed up as well. Grandrobon Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago And another hotfix is out, bringing it to 1.7.104 but luckily the downgrade patches have been updated. 1
