I generally like dark and depressing endings when the themes demand it. Mass Effect 3 definitely warranted a grim ending, with perhaps a thread of hope and resilience in the face of the darkness. But that ending? That ending was offensive. It was an incompetently written, ill-conceived thematic mess that read like a fifth grader's first bad attempt at fan fiction. But the most offensive thing of all wasn't the ending. It was EA and Bioware's response to the justifiable fan outrage. A bad ending I could possibly forgive. Arrogance and condescension towards one's own customers? No, that I won't forgive. For the company that destroyed Westwood Studios, Bullfrog, Origin, and so many others...I forgive even less. On the other hand, they truly did inherit the mantle of Star Control. Just like Star Control, they managed to wreck the franchise with the third installment.

If cod can somehow manage to make a game thats better than Battlefield after so long, Im sure mass effect can fix its mistakes ;D lol Plus maybe they will make something good out of ME4 considering the clean slate *shrug*

And if it's just then why discussing it at all, because who cares, right? And it's not like we're on a site that deals in games in the first place... Oh waaait... That would be a step in the wrong direction.

However, you can't always trust the reviews either (crap games sometimes gets high scores).

Actually, if they just used the ME1 engine and used different graphics and that, I would be happy. Because fuck what they did in the other games.

I remember this place in ME 2, 'twas wherever planet Jacob sends you when he receives a signal informing him of his father's whereabouts. There's an amazing scenery just before you get to the crashed spaceship that was mind blowing at the time, I had some pics with ENB enabled on my old computer and it was just ... Erhmagerd.

Also they thought there was only one surviving prothean, the only species not fully in any of the games in the series but for One in ME 3. Shepard will most likely take an "Anderson" type role or even take over The Elusive Mans role in 4. He did kill him after all, 3 never actually showed shepard as being dead, only believed to be. Like any movie you plan to make more of, you only give the illusion of death. Hell they brought him back once, why not again. But at this point, who knows what's in store.

Yea like i said Mogie, with how 3 ended, they have a GAINT slate of shit they can add, it can be 2 millions years in the future, millions of new aliens. it can be few years later and the citadel is back together, or it can be a game in the past. who knows. well besides the developers. SEE this is why i need a bf/gf in the gaming biz. XD

Seriously this is the way I see it EA: I promise, we will not have a A,B or C ending...Your choices will matter. Fans: WTF? You said you wouldn't do this exact thing, your choices don't matter and it's an A, B, or C ending! EA has banned your account! Now you cant play ANY game you bought on Origin. (no joke, Vampire Dante style) The ending by itself was bad, but I didn't have any hate. What made me hate Bioware was how they treated the fans... At the time I said never again, but I have loosened up and said I will never pay for an EA game for full price. When it goes on super duper sale I will pick it up.

I mean I didn't rage as much as most did on the ME3 ending which they did 'kind of' make up for with the Closure DLC but this is EA we're talking about here. If they say bring back Shepard, chances are it'll happen for the sole purpose of a selling feature. It's a real shame BioWare made a deal with the enemy when they were such great story writers to begin with. I'm not worried about what's left for a new main character to do (it is a big galaxy after all) I'm more concerned with it not having the same feeling the first ME did. To me, Saren was a far more imposing arch-nemesis than the looming threat of the reapers. He was always 1 step ahead of you no matter where you went and that, coupled with the late 70s early 80s sci-fi music made for an amazing experience. None of that feeling existed in ME2/3 at least for me it didn't. for all i care they can bring the main char back, alien 1 2 3 brought the main character back also in all movies, and it didn't feel wrong. but the only time i would buy the game and play it, is when they take the green ending as base of the 4th part. I might get it after its down to under 5 bucks then its the blue or the 4th ending from the dlc. But i would eat a broom, if they don't go with the red ending and let you play like nothing happened ever, in the same galaxy, and as the evil boss they bring back to reapers, or just don't let it truely end. Like they had to regroup some years, everything was rebuild in the meantime and the war starts all over again. when they go with the 4th ending and i see anyone from the old crew, i will be pissed for sure and quit the game, hate it in other games, too that after millions of years you meet in a sequel someone who was at the prequel a char you would except to die of old age any second during your playthrou(when i see an enemy aggressive reaper with the name, that will not turn blue the instant they see me and become my best buddy after an hi, it would be ok.).
