Hi Grimbold, thanks for all the feedback.

 

The reason for even designating a master bed is all about context, which is something most mods don't consider. If I know that you are:

 

• In the same place as your spouse,
• In the same place as your master bed,

I know that you and your spouse and your bed are all in the same place, i.e., this is a "contextually safe" place to do whatever you like, i.e. your home.

 

Since this mod is meant to function around / with Hearthfire, it made sense to be able to say "If your spouse is waiting by the bedside, it's a safe assumption that no children are around." and thus things can continue. Trying to remain context-aware of the state of the children in the house.

 

You made it sound a little like I don't allow non-bed sex, which is of course not true, you can select "I want you. Here. Now." when inside your home.

 

Also, I personally like having the ability to tell your spouse to go someplace, and have them waiting there for you when you're ready.

 

I guess what I'm confused about is that you're asking me to remove a feature instead of replace it with something better. Given you already have the "Here, Now" option, I'm already

 

 

 

Count the sex acts, not the beds

 

as long as you're trying to do it in the same cell as your bed. Combined with the Lover's Sanctuary spell, it sounds like you already have what you want in that regard (just set another bed as the master, etc).

 

What I don't want, at all, is for this mod to be completely context-unaware like some other SexLab mods and just allow you to have sex with your wife in the middle of the street. There's got to be a better way. I think this is a step in the right direction.

 

So, I'd really like to just troubleshoot your problem and make the mod better, instead of just cutting features off at the knees because they're not perfect yet. Or come up with a different solution.

 

The idea for risky locations, or dates / vacations, is that they will be a curated / limited number of places your spouse can go to, instead of (again) just "follow me whereever and have sex wherever".

 

Could you send me your savegame to dudefella010203@gmail.com? That would help. Try to save it so that I can just ask your spouse to do something quickly.

Are there any other hotsprings than between Riften and Windhelm?

Because while there are the hotsprings near Bonestrewn Crest it also is a mammoth bone yard and rather creepy than romantic.

And it is a dangerous area with a dragon hoard and giant camp nearby.

 

I think the valtheim towers would be a very nice outdoor location:

The problem is that they are a bandit camp, but maybe it is not too complicated to check if they are currently cleared.

But they provide a spectacular view, and you could climb on different towers and then meet exactly in the middle of the bridge. You could even be very brave and jump from there into the water.

Another nice option would be if your spouse is standing on one of the towers and you are kneeling on the bridge near the tower making another proposal of marriage as anniversary celebration or the like.

Or you blindfold your spouse and carefully lead her to the middle of the bridge where you lift the blindfold then and have some kind of surprise.

There might be a mod that lets you summon a romantic dinner table there or another nice gift could be one of those cute pets from this mod:

This mod would also make the Riften hotsprings a very sweet location again, because you could go there to enjoy the hotsprings and watch baby mammoths:

 

Sorry if i am going too far, but i think some romantic and not pure sex actions would be cute too. Especially going to the wilds watching baby animals could also be a family action where you also bring your kids with you. And there is always the night after the trip, where your spouse will surprise and thank you for the nice trip then

Hi. I really like the idea of your mod. I was excited to try it. My Wife is Skyla a modded follower. I also use EFF and My home is your home. We live in a modded house. I have already posted on the house's page saying that the master bed won't allow me to cast a spell on it making it the master bed for this mod. I wanted to let you know that as well. It is one of Gentester's houses. Very beautiful.

 

In the MCM for your mod, it shows Skyla as my wife. But when I try to cast Lover's Sanctuary on the bed it says no bed found, try where your spouse lives. Skyla knows this is her house and sleeps in the master bed. Is there any other way to choose that bed as the master bed like say using a console command?

 

Also, the mod is not working for me. I have the lastest Skyrim, SKSE (but not the alpha yet), SKUI, Sex Lab Framework, and Hearthfire. When I talk to my wife, The only option I get is, "Have your lips missed mine?" Then it just stays on that comment. She says out loud, "It can't be helped." I wait and wait for the dialogue box to go away. Finally I have to tab out of that dialogue. Nothig happens. One time and one time only, we kissed then got stuck and crashed. I get no other options when I talk to her. Is that because we don't have a bed or bedroom set to go to?

I don't get anything like I want you or anything like that. I even turned on ignore kids to see if it would work.

 

Help! I would really like to use this mod.

 

Edit: After I went and did a few things around the house, saved the game, logged back in later, I couldn't move. Then the animation started but I was on the other side of the room from her she was making her actions and sounds and I was making my actions and sounds all from across from each other. That was the only time that happened. I even tried to engage her outside so it's not the house.

 

Would load order help? Should this be higher or lower on the plugin list? Should it be above or below Sex Lab? I use Boss and make a bashed patch with wrye bash btw. Boss puts your mod way down second to last from the bottom. I'll try to move it up in load order to see if that helps. Also, I have working girl installed. Are these two compatible? Working girl works but was higher up in the load order.

SOLUTION TO THE BED PROBLEM

 

At least it works for me, and the problem turns out to have nothing to do with Spouses Enhanced. The root of the problem (at least in my case) is the mod Luxury Suites for Babes and Beefcakes. When you get married, this mod adds a dialogue that reads:

 

"Now that we are married, you should sleep in the master bedroom in the suite" or words to that effect (very close)

 

My marriage happened at the same time I installed SE (I got married in order to enjoy this mod), and so I assumed the dialogue was part of SE when it is in fact part of the Luxury Suite mod, which activated this dialogue in response to my marriage. I was clicking on the dialogue under the misconception that "the master bedroom" was the same master bedroom I had flagged with SE's "Lover's Sanctuary" spell. It is not. The "master bedroom" in the above dialogue is the one in the Luxury Suite. The  upshot is that I was setting myself up for grief. Using SE, I would tell my spouse "let's take this to the bedroom" and she (in accord with SE) would reply "I'll get everything together and meet you there." I would run upstairs in eager anticipation of hot sex, only to hear the front door slam, as she (following the instuctions installed by clicking the above dialogue) would head off for the Luxury Suite outside Whiterun.  

 

Conclusion: my bed problems were entirely due to my own stupidity and have nothing whatever to do with DudeGuy's great mod.

 

I was misled by the phrase "master bedroom" which (not surprisingly) appears in both mods. I was also misled by the fact that the new dialogue activated at the same time as I installed SE (due to the timing of my marriage). It is my bad and I apologize to DudeGuy for doubting his mod. Since other people are having bed issues, and the Luxury Suite is a very popular mod, I wonder if others might have made the same mistake as I did. Hence this post. To alert other people--and apologize to the DudeGuy for what turns out to be my own stupid confusion of two distinct mods.

I'm pretty sure my problem is the bed that this house mod uses, as far as the bed problem. I think I need to replace that nice looking bed with a vanilla version or try to get the mod author to do so.

 

As for my other problems, I have an update. So, giving up on trying to fix SE until I hear some advice, I decided to try to take my wife to an inn and see if that helped. We're outside my house and I turn around and she doesn't have her armor on but is naked. I try to use wardrobe manager to get her to put her armor on and she jumps me. I think ooo ok SE is working! She is straddling me, I'm standing, We are kissing. I wait....wait...wait.... it turns to night....I wait....now I'm getting worried. I try to do everything to break the sequence. Nothing helps. I push T and wait a few hours. Still engaged. Morning comes, midday comes. I finally can get my game to save. Log out. Log back in and finally I can move my character but she is still up in the air like I am still there.

 

I am suspecting maybe a clash with Wardrobe manager because  that is acting up now too. I unchecked working girl so the only SL mods I now have is this one and sex lab. Is there a way to disable the wardrobe part of this mod?

CTD after sex sounds like a pre-selab 1.38 tfc problem. Is your sexlab 1.38 or 1.39? If not, TFC is probably the root of all your woe, and you solution is to update sexlab.

Sorry to hear that, Ridica. It does sound like you have a mod conflict. At least the first part of your problem  ("I try to use wardrobe manager to get her to put her armor on and she jumps me") is enviable. If only all life's problems were like that!

TDG - i have being playing this mod for many hours now. there is one thing that I do not understand. My spouse is my follower as well. So when we fast travel to distant destination, I got I message from her, something like: "You have return from adventure...". When my PC replied, then the mod triggers her invitations to follow her. When I do that, (confirming "follow"), she leads me to nowhere. Nothing happens even when we came to our base house with master bed. Also, I can't communicate with her except for two lines:  "never mind" and "let's put this for later" (or something like that). If i reject the invitation to follow, my relationship is dropping. But I can't see other option since following never comes to consuming sex. Where is the problem? What should I do?

 

Something like that just happened to me too, but after I clicked follow nothing happened at all. My spouse just keep behaving like a standard follower (she follows me) except that when I try talk to her I have only two options: something about bad idea or nevermind

This encounter does not work? Or some incompatibility with EFF? Or... It happened to me in some ruins on Solstheim, hehe maybe my spouse does not remember the way home.

Anyway, probably worth a look at it.

Everything seems to be working... except all the animations are "off" meaning my character always seems to do a circle, making them kiss ( and everything else ) with backs to each other. It's definitely my character that does the spinning ( I can actually see me spin out of position whenever an animation starts ).

 

Any ideas what could cause this?

Looks like the problems I've been having relate to whether my spouse is currently following.  The wardrobe, roleplaying and 3-way doesn't show up when following.

 

Also, when my spouse is following and I try to talk to him he just says "Ah my love come home to visit."  when we're no where near home and there's no dialog options at all. 

The only way to continue is to find the nearest bed and go for it.  This will reset the dialog.  He will still follow and attack enemies - just won't talk.

 

Once in Whiterun he again said "Ah my love come home to visit.", only this time there were dialog options as if we where home??  Clicked on the option to take it to the bedroom and he just walk off - home I assume.  So I fast travelled home and waited... and waited... and waited.  He finally shows up and we have some fun.  I though he really needed it bad, but he took so long to get home - had to start without him.

OK. I'm going to have to get rid of this mod. I can't seem to get it to work and if it is conflicting with Wardrobe Manager or Convenient Horses, I can't let them go. I guess no one is going to be able to help me as I have gotten no adivice. Such a shame too. This is such a fantastic idea!

 

I'll keep checking back to see if anyone has any ideas.

I'm using Convenient Horses myself, and I haven't had a problem with Spouses Enhanced. I don't use Wardrobe Manager, though.

When I get on my horse, my follower calls their horse, but none appear and also, my follower doesn't follow me. If you read my previous posts just a few up, you will see my other problems with SE not working. For the wardrobe manager, they are not keeping their wardrobe sets on.

I too use Convenient Horses and have noticed no problems between it and SE. i suspect that Se Ridica's issue is with the Wardrobe mod. it must be a pretty good mod if Ridica is willing to sacrfice SE to keep it! My advice: disable Wardrobe Manager and try SE in its full glory, then choose between the two mods. I'd be suprised if you still chose WM (but then I have never used it, so don't know what it offers). Still, there are very few mods out there that can hold a light to Spouses Enhanced.

Just a quick note that Amazing Follower Tweaks also has (limited) wardrobe management in the form of Standard/City/Home outfits.  This may or may not be enough.  AFT and CH work well together IME and someone in this thread recently noted that AFT + SE hasn't given them any grief, so...

I think this because it happened once before and we happened (by sheer luck) to be near a bed.  When I spoke to her, I got the line "you have that gleam in your eye" and we started doing it like rabbits  When she came out with the same line ("been on some adventure I bet") a couple days later, it was in the centre of Whiterun, so I thought we would be at it as soon as we entered Breezehome. But no. Just the same line repeated, and no other options.  I had to load a day old save to escape the problem, but I am now dreading that it will recur.

 

so my question (for Dudeguy) is: is this line related to the spouse-asks-for-sex feature? And is there a workaround solution? It is the first really serious problem I have had with this great mod.

I have been searching and waiting for just this mod since Skyrim first came out.   I had given up hope.    At LAST a mod that is in the spirit of what I came to a site called LOVERSLAB hoping to find and kept coming back hoping to find and always went away disappointed.       However well it works I thank you for even trying this.       Just started a new game and as soon as I marry I will be trying this out.   I can hardly wait!

The been on some adventure I bet is what some modded spouses are programmed to say. It doesn't have anything to do with SE. I have Skyla as my wife, and she said it all the time way before I even found SE.

Thank you for your input. The character I wanted the SE for is also a bard with Become a Bard. She has a girl band and she needs the Wardrobe Manager to manage her 5 bandmate's performance outfits. But I can try it again on another character and set the WM to not load on that one and see if it works. Do you know if SE is compatible with Animated Prostitution? LIke If I only have one at a time set to load, but still have both installed?

Just a suggestion to those who use the mod "Wardrobe Manager". I would not recommend uninstall / remove the mod (files), as it is heavily scripted and will surely mess up your save. WM has a MCM option to "pause" (forgot the exact name...sorry) the script...use that option instead. I have been using WM for quite some time...it works well with Sexlab and presumably Spouse Enhanced, as long as I know when to pause WM functions. Hope it helps.

Well the new update has fixed my custom follower/spouse and I absolutely love the follower support! Great mod I wish there was more like this!
