I'm having an issue with the bars being completely empty unless i disable IWantWidgets (the use iWW option in user interface) then the arousal/dd device HP all work but then the other icons displaying equipped DD items and if they are on or not do not display. I have tried reinstalling both this mod and iWantWidgets NG and iWantStatusBars but has no effect. this is on a new save also. anyone having similar issue and is there a patch or fix Thanks. I am using True Hud

Okay, I've fulfilled the conditions and logged into Whiterun, where should I look for this npc? I thought he would come by himself, but that doesn't happen.

Now I understand, the problem is that I never run any task.

Apparently there is a problem with the method of obtaining Black Goo, where do I need to get it from?

I'm curious if anyone else has run into this issue and knows of a solution... for what it's worth, my current mod list is set up to only have the essentials to get UD to work, so I'm pretty sure I've isolated it as much as I can.

 

Basically, the "over time" accumulators don't seem to actually be ticking.  This mainly affects the "Manifest over time" and "Evolution over time" modifiers.  They stay at 0.00 for a really long time, and very very occasionally tick up, but are usually an extreme fraction of the actual time the device has been locked.  This issue has basically made the "Evolution over Time" modifier for the Abadon devices completely pointless, as they will never trigger.  The manifest over time modifiers do trigger on occasion, but mainly because the threshold value is also 0.00, so they still have a rare chance of triggering even if the accumulator is not.

 

I've tried this with both the 3.01 and 3.1 versions, and have the same bug in both.  Everything else about the mod seems to be functioning fine, as far as I can tell though.

It is a drop item from animals, like spiders, chaurus, skeevers, wolfes and such.

You can also get some by escaping from abadon devices. You can get the abadon plug after unlocking the abadon plug quest (Unlocked after you complete the quest that has you kill the dragon at the Whiterun watch tower.) and that quest will result in you getting a bunch of goo.

You can also get shouted at with level 3 Abadon shouts or walk into dart traps to get equipped with items.

There are a bunch of ways.

My recommendation for the mod is to do the main quest up to the point where you get the Greybeard quest from Jarl Balgruf. That starts a few things automatically. Especially if you want to start the research, as you need something dropped by dragons to unlock some recipes. The dead Skeevers in Bleak Falls Barrow have a good chance of having black goo on them.

EDIT : PROBLEM SOLVED 

 

it appears that i was lacking the ability to read properly lol. i had the DD - Lore patch after UD, i removed it and reran synthesis and the error of the unpatched devie on save load is gone. but reguarding the device shown in console in the pic , that is a keyword problem in UD itself. i opened UD in Yedit, and added the missing Keyword to the Gefjun plug (both rendered and inventory) and now i can use them and their effects apply

I have not seen any clear response on the discord to this problem (even though it seems to have been asked a few different times) so I thought I might ask here since I am using the 3.1 and not the nightly builds.

Ok, so I have a few questions, but first up, I want to say I love this mod a lot.  Devious Devices has been a mainstay in my load order for a long time now, but I never quite liked the opacity of the escape system.  I was using the escape mini-game from Devious Lore for a while, but I did not like the lack of feedback on what direction to push, and at some skill level, it just becomes too easy to escape from everything.  Also, the integration with other mods was hit or miss.  Unforgiving devices is exactly the mod I have been looking for in that respect.

 

That said, I have hit an issue that is softlocking UD and I am not sure how to resolve it.  I am running a pretty big load order, so the issue may not be with UD.

 

So, my issue is that I cannot escape from devices.  I jumped back to a save before I had a UD added, and at that point I have no restraints equipped  If I put on a patched UD restraint like black ebonite gag it will bring up the UD interface, and let me equip them as expected.  if I manipulate the locks, I can escape the device, but if I lock it on then I run into problems.  Any attempt to escape give me the message that I busy doing something already. 

 

My character does not appearing to be doing anything.  Note, at the start of my current playthrough, everything was working as expected, and I managed to escape from a set of Abbadon restraints from eating black goo.  The console gives me a message that the wearer is invalid with dead:false, disabled:false, and Scene+[ARNA_SF_arnimamainquest0Playe_04131B8F] which appears to be a beyond reach main quest reference.  I got the initial quest to go to Reach, but have not proceed beyond the conversation with the priestess.

That is a bug that happens from time to time again. There is a simple solution:

 

Go to the MCM and look at the debugging menu.

There you will find a fixes oprion and it open a window where you find a few different options (Familiarize yourself with it, you will see it quite often.):

 

General fix fixes a few bugs, like the one you have. I think a script isn't properly ended or something. It also fixes equipped devices not being properly registered and other stuff I don't really know about.

 

Then there is an option that controls a few different scripts which can cause bugs that happen a bit less frequently. Like having no plug equipped, but still being under the effects of a vibrating plug.

 

The last option is one where you can remove different slots of your character one at a time. For example: I sometimes remove items but they are still equipped. The way devious devices are equipped is weird and sometimes they just stay on after unequipping them. Being equipped but not appearing on your body and then reappearing when you try to sell it for example. This option safely unequips only the chosen slots and it is quite easy to spot which slots have devices. Once you see this often enough you will know which slot is causing the problem, just by looking at the list.

Last time I tried a 3.x version, it was still included in the download. Unzip the mod and look in the "dev" subfolder. The instructions are on the UD 2.1.1 page, in a spoiler tag section. If the latest 3.1 version doesn't have it anymore, the 2.1.1 version definitely does.

I'm pretty sure they can break if you make a wrong press. I think it has like a 20% chance for that to happen.

At least from the Loverslab version, this incompatibility with TrueHUD is still there. How would I attach this script to the mod?

 

EDIT: I'm an idiot and had the No Glow mod installed, which is why I couldn't see the shaders. TrueHUD still has the issue tho

I wanted to provide an update on SLO Aroused compatibility; I just downloaded the most recent version from github (which currently has the issue of SLO Aroused compatibility as closed as of November), but it still does not appear to be working. It correctly increases arousal, but the custom orgasm from this mod does not increase. 

 

Has anyone else found a solution to this, or is this incompatibility still a known problem?

Does unforgiving devices even show up for you in slo's status page? At this point I've tried the latest build from LL, the beta 3.2b1 and even the nightly build from github and none seem to actually properly work with SLO

The (View devices) option appears in this menu if the NPC is the player's follower/companion or is helpless (e.g. heavily bound). You can try a paralysis spell on the NPC. In theory, this should count as helpless state, but I've never tried it.

And the player's hands must be free.

I'm still having issues with this, if anyone has any thoughts on how to fix.  Just a small addendum, the timer does tick if I wait, it just doesn't happen naturally.  And there are no game time altering mods installed.  I also tried updating the update frequency to basically every value and it made no difference.

Were you ever able to figure out a fix for this? I'm occasionally having this issue crop up in my playthrough as well, and it persists through saves so I also have to reload one from before, but would love to not have to do that.
