Having a bit of trouble with installation

Hey there, looking to get some help on doing an install of Sexlabs on Skyrim Special Edition.

I've followed the instructions for it to a tee and it still won't work; FNIS doesn't recognize the mods, the install button doesn't work, and I've had to completely wipe my system of any data associated with Skyrim twice in attempt to retrace my steps. To put it simply, I'm at a loss here, and frankly I hope it's just me being a moron and missing something along the way which is causing a hiccup somewhere.

To provide context as well, I'm using Vortex to install and deploy the mods, and I have the steam version as well. If anyone can provide assistance, I'd be grateful.

So, I'm certainly no expert with all of this, and haven't even been able to play my Skyrim since before AE came out (my "gaming laptop" is shit lol), but I will say I had so many problems trying to use Vortex to manage mods, and others reported the same. Can't remember exactly what the problem was but IIRC it didn't install more complex mods correctly and tools like FNIS didn't always play nice with it. I would highly recommend switching to Mod Organizer 2; I used it and it solved all my mod installation problems and, after the initial learning curve, was much easier and more configurable.

Posting the FNIS report would help if you are having issues with FNIS, i personnally (as i use vortex with none of the issues mentioned by aerospace) would suggest turning off the auto run FNIS on deployment as chances are you are not going to be installing one mod (if your doing a setup for the first time that's pretty much a guarentee) and just remember to run manually after you have deployed (either from within vortex or outside - after deployment it makes no real difference)

First of all: don't install in c:\Program (or one of its namesakes) - you will likely get problems with autorisation.

(yes, it can work if you know what you're doing - but in that case you wouldn't even think of using that directory)

2nd: Vortex is for stupid people like you and me. Tell it once where which game is located. drag and drop the mods. deploy manually (don't auto-deploy, that's a nuisance when your modlist gets bigger and bigger) - but still install one mod, deploy, start the game, look if it even gets its arse of of the starting blocks, exit, continue installing.

@pinky6225 already gave you good advice.

3rd: FNIS is easy as cake - but like Vortex it needs to know where which game is located, IIRC there are different versions for LE and SE/AE. Grabbe the ryghte or thou willst suffer!

You didn't even write which mods aren't found. Vanilla Skyrim doesn't need FNIS.

Update, reinstalled again. This time I'm getting this error, I'm also not getting anything back from SexLab in the Mod Config in terms of prereq. checks.

Went with MO and LOOT this time around. And the funny thing too, I'm using the version that matches the games product version.

(in case you cant see it, it's not seeing papyrus.dll and sexlab.dll)

And repeated previous mistakes. This is why one follows a guide.

You know that's the thing, I followed one of the guides provided and I still ran into a snag. Am I an idiot? Maybe, I'll own that.

On the plus side, it was better than my first attempt when FNIS didn't recognize shit, but hey, guess it doesn't matter in the long run, right?
