Veladarius Posted March 27, 2014 Author Posted March 27, 2014 New version is up. I have done a number of adjustments to the scenes and packages that should keep things moving. Since I made these adjustments I have gone through the quests and punishments and none of them stuttered or stopped. A made a few other small adjustments to quests and scripts as well. Make sure you are not in the middle of a quest or anything like that when you update. To update just uninstall the old version and install the new one, everything is included in it.

Future expansions: - Expand the store grounds with several more buildings - Enable the player to become a slave of the Master - Larger quests Can't wait for the 2nd feature. I did the quests all over for the last hours hoping it might have already been enabled. Well, reading might have saved me some time, but I can't say I regret it. Lovely punishment scenes.

I have several quests planned including ones for the Smith De'Zra that ties into the Release quest and a scene with some new npc customers (a master with his slave). With the new plug setup I am also looking to make new variations of the plugs I have made plus a few other new ones. The version after that will be a much larger one that involves expanding the grounds (adding a Manor, Stables w/ forge and a small barracks) and the option to become a slave of the Master. This will be a rather large addition with new npc's, scenes, dialogue and things for the player to do while serving. I intend for the player to have to earn their keep.

Am I missing a step? I am running the latest version of Devious Devices (2.7.4, updated after this mod last was), would that be a problem?

kurotatsu Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I think I've found a bug - when you get ambushed by Boss and company in Morthal, if you kill Boss not last, your pc dies right after killing last one of bandits. For example, steady way to reproduce: kill Boss, kill Mage, kill Brute, die.

Two things. First, update to the new release. The OP has reduced the number of npcs, items, and make a few other changes that should help with stability. Second, approach from the other side of the lake. Take the road along the north shore instead of near the mill. That seemed to minimize crashes when I went from wilderness to shop instead of wilderness, mill then shop.

I thinkit may have been one of the ZAZ gags or another piece of DD equipment. It seems like the gag removal scene is still getting interrupted for some reason. In my case, like in the last version, the master walks away after removing the gag and I still cannot do anything except for opening the Esc menu and resting.
cjam076 Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 First of all, awesomne mod, but I'm also having the same issue in the delivery quest of getting frozen in place after the gag is removed. Could it be something to do with the wrong quest stage being failed when the bandits attack? Like jorgenpr's screenshot above, after the attack, the original 'deliver the package to XXX' stage remains active for me, while the new 'I should tell Master what happened' is listed in the journal as failed. Surely it should be the other way around? I know nothing of coding and have no idea why it happens, but could this be causing problems with the game figuring out what to do next after you return to the shop?

When I lose 10-15% of my health the game crashed. That's cause the notes a property, for reasons I guess. Dunno why your game would crash, you got any capture mods that might influence death? Its possible It had an error and just crashed due to the Master being (or not being) listed as part of a faction. Meh, that's what I can think of it at least.

I thinkit may have been one of the ZAZ gags or another piece of DD equipment. If it is the first time doing the quest since updating the changes to the AI and scenes may not have taken effect yet. I noticed that some of the changes I did would not take effect right away. The progression when you get back is the Master will remove the gag first then the Armbinder then continue on with the punishment. Can you post a papyrus log? I would like to see if there are any issues with the scripts not running as they should.

Had strange bug. When I stoled a note(accidentally pressed E when read the note) master saw it and started to bit me. When I lose 10-15% of my health the game crashed. The notes should not be set as belonging to anyone. I will have to recheck that.
Uthyn Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I seem to recall an earlier post theorizing that the crash was due to too many items, npcs, and scripts firing off as you approach the store. That's the only reason why approaching from a different direction works, at least as far as my limited, as in none, modding experience would suggest. With your recent changes to the store, I think it indirectly solved the problem.

Between both the DD items and ZAZ items it was giving papyrus too much to handle at times. I never could figure out why it would crash for people as they approached the outside of it, other than the sign and the new scene there isn't anything going on.

For some reason the delivery quest itself did not reset but the controller did. Do this to get the controller to reset it all again: setstage cdxdeliverycontroller 500 That will set the controller to its reset stage for them both. Started a new game just to see if savegames were corrupted Now if i get the delivery stolen. after the scene (mission failed) master gives me a new quest.... i get the delivery and receipt...but quests aren t updated first command enable yes status running current stage 70 priority 70 -- second command enable yes status running current stage 700 priority something low i forgot (crashed) Any way i can play it? What happens if i give the command u said?

What happens if i give the command u said? Ok, not sure why the first one would show stage 70 as there isn't one. You can go ahead and use the setstage command but if you have had the belt put on you set the stage to 100 instead as that will complete the quest, remove the items then reset it. I will have to see if something is trying to set that quest to stage 70.
