You will probably need to load the save file before talking to Aela. Otherwise, you will have to use commands to change the stage of the quest to continue. This is a strange problem in general, because neither Gristle nor I experience it, and the only thing that comes to mind is that some modification conflicts with the inn, or you just need to put Animal Research lower in the mod order.

The Sanguine party was incredible (even more with Spectator crowds mod, which increases the already perfect "orgy effect"): too bad Serana couldn't join the party 🤣... perhaps in the future? Seeing her acting as Tirwin does in that event would have been a masterpiece 😂. Another interesting scenario would be to let Caliban (the hound) come back in the present as a dog follower for Serana such as Ragnar for Tirwin. Anyway, this mod is fantastic and I'm truly curious to see how the story will proceed. Keep up the good work! And Spectator Crowds didn't spoil the task? As far as I remember, this mod can trigger its own sex scenes not only with Tirwin, but also with other NPCs. Caliban following Serana like Ragnar follow Tirwin? It's possible, but only after completing the Dawnguard storyline, regardless of which side you choose. 1

kamithemoon Posted November 14, 2025 Posted November 14, 2025 About the Bannered Mare scene failing to start... I never had an issue with that scene until I installed JK's Bannered Mare, at which point they'd just stare at each other. Using resaver to delete the scripts so they reinitialize allowed the scene to start and progress as normal. This suggests that the issue is the part of the scripts failing to initialize and isn't actually due to JK's Bannered Mare at all (which also doesn't touch that particular area anyways). On the next game start, I was surprised to find the scene occurred without issue. My guess best guess is that folks have script lag when starting a new game which is causing some aliases to fail to load properly. I was also messing around with PapyrusNG to increase the number of scripts the game can run per frame from the default 100 to 2000 and I think that might have contributed to some of the issues I was having as well. Switching back to the mod default of 500 scripts is helping things run more smoother. 2

I can't check this myself (for me work pewrfect), but it may help others who are having trouble getting the scene to not start.

The trigger box that starts the quest is quite large and is impossible to miss. But if you see the two actors (Tirwin and Naryu) then we know the trigger box has done its job, because both of these actors start disabled. They are enabled on the starting stage (stage 10) of the first quest. So, if you are seeing them, the quest has started and stage 10 has been set. This same stage starts the scene, so we know the command has been given to start the scene (i.e., the code on stage 10 is simple and correct - "Scene1.Start()"). So, why would a scene not start? I can only think of two reasons. 1) the aliases for the two scene actors didn't fill, and 2) the actors are already in another scene. I suppose another possibility is 3) the scene did start, but the first phase is a travel package that requires an actor to move somewhere they can't get to, and thus the first phase with dialogue never occurs. Scenario 1 can be checked (by someone who has this problem), by running sqv VAR_Mainquest in the console. If the TirwinLH or Naryu aliases have "None" next to them in the list of aliases, then this is the problem. Scenario 2 is hard to imagine, since these are mod-added NPCs, but not impossible I suppose. For example, my SLSF Fame Comments mod's marriage functions can grab random NPCs, stick them in an alias, and then start a scene with them (to solicit sex from the PC or their spouse). But if that were the case, the NPC would then play out the other scene, unless the other scene was broken somehow. EDIT: Thinking about this, SLSF Fame Comments does check if the NPC is in a scene before using the NPC. Scenario 3 wouldn't be the case here, because neither Tirwin nor Naryu is required to reach any travel destination before they begin speaking. Does that give anyone any insight in what the problem might be? ANOTHER EDIT: The aliases for both TirwinLH and Naryu are set to "Allow Disabled", so it shouldn't matter that they are disabled on quest start when the aliases are filled. But maybe I need to add a slight delay between when the actors are enabled and the scene starts? This could be a processor speed/Papyrus issue. Edited November 15, 2025 by Gristle 1

Is the wolf and wolf cage there? The code to enable the key is on the same stage that enables the cage: WolfCage.Enable() WolfCageGate.Enable() Alias_WolfCageKey.GetReference().Enable() wolf.Enable() You could sqv VAR_Mainquest in the console to see if the WolfCageKey alias was filled. 1

Exactly, Caliban after completing the dawnguard storyline would be just perfect! 1

fastjack42 Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 I got stuck on "The North Wind" quest line. I'm at the "Ask the captain why the ship has stopped" part of it. Tirwin had sex with the captain but then the quest doesn't continue. I tried talking to all the NPCs on board but they all have no dialogue.

After the captain has sex with Tirwin, a scene with dialogue should start where the captain tells Tirwin to let the dog to fuck her. Try pushing the captain or wait an hour.

Scenario 3 wouldn't be the case here, because neither Tirwin nor Naryu is required to reach any travel destination before they begin speaking. I think your scenario 3 is what's happening, but I don't have any evidence apart from my own observations. It seems to me that Naryu needs to walk over to Tirwin to start their conversation, but is getting blocked by another NPC (probably one added by another mod, such as Troubles of Heroine). It also seems as if she only gets one chance to move - if she can't get to Tirwin at once, the scene stalls. Setscene 10 doesn't help, but setscene 20 allows the quest to continue by skipping their conversation. I can suggest two possible solutions but, not being a modder, don't know whether either would work: 1) spawn Naryu next to Tirwin, or 2) somehow allow the conversation to happen when they are further apart (a bit rude - shouting across the inn!). Alternatively, remove stage 10 altogether and just have Tirwin force-greet the PC. Is Naryu used later, or could she just be deleted? BTW - great mod, thanks to everyone involved for all your hard work on it.

BTW - great mod, thanks to everyone involved for all your hard work on it. From what I've seen, Naryu and Tirwin appear literally next to each other. Even if there is an NPC between them (for some reason), in my case the conversation proceeds normally. Removing Naryu is simple, but unfortunately, it would require reworking the story, because we meet Naryu again on Solstheim. Anyway, the purpose of this opening scene is to show that Tirwin really wants to hire a mercenary, but no one wants to because she is a high elf, and the locals generally perceive them as -> Thalmor.
dunderhead59 Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 In my game, Tirwin spawns next to the wooden pillar on the left as you enter the Bannered Mare, and Naryu spawns between and just behind the two chairs to the East of the table on the left. Naryu immediately moves to Tirwin and their conversation starts, unless Naryu's path is blocked, in which case she never moves and the quest stalls. Spoiler

Maidenslayer Posted November 18, 2025 Posted November 18, 2025 I've played through your mod at least five times with all kinds of different mods. On four of the five play-throughs, the Wolf Cage Key does not show up (as reported by previous fans of your mod). On my recent play-through, something interesting happened: Two bandits were attacking the wolf when I showed up. The cage automatically opened and the wolf ran out (but eventually returned to the cage after I killed the bandits). Per your instructions, I executed sqv var_mainquest on a play-through where I killed bandits (above) before the cage opened. No key was found. I believe this is the relevant output you were looking for: VAR_QF_VAR_MainQuest_08005900: Script state = "" ::Alias_Wolf_var = alias wolf on quest VAR_MainQuest (2B005900) ::Alias_WolfCageKey_var = alias WolfCageKey on quest VAR_MainQuest (2B005900) - 17 Aliases for quest 'VAR_MainQuest' (2B005900)- REF 'WolfCageKey' -> NONE (I would copy the full report but don't know where it is saved, if it is indeed saved.) I would be happy to provide more information as requested.
Maidenslayer Posted November 18, 2025 Posted November 18, 2025 I likewise reported the quest not starting. Technically, stage 10 is set, but the quest never progresses to stage 20. Here is the relevant sqv_mainquest information: sqs var_mainquest Stage 0: 0 Stage 10: 1 Stage 20: 0 Stage 21: 0 (all zeroes) sqv var_mainquest ::VAR_TirwinActor_var = VAR_TirwinActor (2B25B327) VAR_OF_VAR_MainQuest_08005900: ::Alias_Tirwin_var = alias Tirwin on quest VAR_MainQuest (2B005900) ::Alias_TirwinLH_var = alias TirwinLH on quest VAR_MainQuest (2B005900) REF 'Tirwin' -> NONE REF 'TirwinLH' -> NONE --- Quest state -------------------- Enabled? Yes State: Running Current Stage: 10 Priority: 80 Tirwin and Nayru are facing each other and respond to the "E" key with generic talk, but var_mainquest does not advance. 1

We know about this problem, but we don't know why, and it doesn't help that in my case and Gristle, when I enter the inn, the girls talk to each other without any problems. Since we do not experience this, it is difficult to find a solution to this problem.
