Oh! Yes I remember that. I had that failure and it's due to the book or BloodStalhrim placement with a mismatch of form ids.

 

I had talked to the author of SDA and found out the patch itself only works with one version of DX Crimson Blood Armor it has to be the original unp version DX released.

Which specific locations did he block? And so we came to the conclusion that Ragnar should follow Tirwin, because he liked him, not the PC. But he could follow the PC in tight spaces.

It led to elk for me.  They were called Elks and were larger than deer and more importantly, did not register as a deer for SexLab Achievement when fucked.  I also checked the esp just now and they're clearly Elks =P

 

Ragnar blocked all locations and doorways as I went to do Tirwin's quest.  Anytime I went into a building to sell or junk or my playerhome to store stuff, he was blocking my exit =(.

However, this would suggest that the DX Crimson Blood Armor mod was probably installed incorrectly, or that another mod (not Animal Research) is causing a conflict.

I also suggest reinstalling the mod with the patch and checking if, for example, on Seran/Valerica (if I understand the mod page description correctly) or even adding these items yourself via AddItemMenu and removing them from EQ.

 

The patch itself is also for the specific original version of DX Crimson Blood.

can pc avoid sex? i'm playing as male pc. and i don't want my pc to have sex with animals. i'm not against beast sex. in fact i love them. but for purely rp thing, i don't it for pc.

You can revisit Deer. The only thing is, the script may call for deer, but the creature is an elk.

Yes, you can avoid it, because it is the PC who decides whether he wants to have sex with the creature or not. However, there are some exceptions:
- If you play a female character, there are 2/3 places where the PC is raped by the creature, and Tirwin herself is also raped.
- If you play a male character, he is practically never raped by the creature.

I'm amused to say that I won't be completing Animal Research any time soon because I ran into another major instability in my mod list so I'm starting over again for the umpteenth time.  But preliminary new game tests seem stable (fingers crossed).  This should also give me a chance to test and redo the new voice files I'm making.

Do you have ‘Creature Animations’ enabled in SexLab?
Do you have the appropriate animations enabled?
Do you have SexLab P+?

More Nasty Critters, Anubis, and Billyy contain the appropriate animations. If you have them, you need to register them via SL Anim Loader and enable the Creature Animations option in SexLab itself.

I think I used an elk because they are bigger or at least have bigger antlers and look bigger.  I didn't think anyone would care about the difference, but now that you mention it I recall being frustrated several years ago trying to find a damn deer for SexLab Achievement. I'll have to check what the book says about them.

He's not good in tight spaces. But if you ram him, he'll teleport back a bit. This works reasonably well for the PC, but it doesn't work for Tirwin, so he can pin her in tight places, since he follows her. In the quests under development, he's asked to wait a lot by Tirwin to avoid this.  Switching him to follow the PC temporarily would also remove some issues in tight places, and that's a good option if he is needed somewhere. 

 

Also, glad you're playing the mod more, and sorry about your mod issues. The quest starts out fairly simple but gets less linear and (I think) more interesting as you progress (and includes more new locations and NPCs). Not so much by design but because of just learning to do more over time.

i have v.36 installed via a WJ collection and they haven't updated it in awhile do i need to delete v36 and install this to have all 4 chapters or can i just add this one?

WJ collection? Just uninstall old version v.36 and install latest version from here.

yeah i download a mod collection from Wabbajack and it was to use 1.5.97 and im tired of having to use older skyrim versions so i wanted to just find out what i need to do to get the mod without the bullshit

I can't open SLAL in game. It just shows a black screen on my MCM.

You'll have to look for it in the SL Anim Loader threads under ‘Speed up native calls’ if I remember correctly. It had something to do with the fact that if you set a fixed 60 FPS, it also slowed down the number of scripts being executed, but if you had FPS Unlimited, the script ran much faster in SL Anim Loader.

Also, every time I try to boot up the game, a window pops up saying Unable to open Data/SKSE/SexLab/Registry. Folder is empty or does not exist.

Upon arrival, the stage should change to ‘We've found a family of netch near the shoreline. I should speak with Tirwin and see if she's ready to try to attract the bull netch to mate with her.’

You have the setstage quest option. Everything is in the link I provided. You probably have a mod that edits the areas where Netches are located.
