Hey, I was wondering if there's an existing fix for the cum overlays being too bright (Probably due to the cum overlay framework, that slow drying thingy) so I have the reduced glow patch however it seems the slowdrying framework applies it's own alpha values for the brightness of the cum. Is there any fix/patch for it? I prefer my cum the old fashion way

No, there is no for now. Maybe will add setting later.

Basically, this doesn't belong in an XML file, but in the HKX file itself. Sound triggers can be placed in the timeline there.

Example: An FMM scene on a bench contains a kiss, a handjob, and a blowjob.

Gender-neutral sounds are indeed best placed in hkx.
With gender-specific voiceovers, things aren't so straightforward.
It requires creating and registering twice as many hkx files. And what's even more interesting is that it requires editing four times as much XML. Because if I edit a FM xml set now and then simply convert it to FF/MM/MF, then with the built-in gender-specific voiceovers, I'll have to make changes to each of the four sets manually.

Most animations contain sounds, orgasms are triggered by scripts with sound, personally I don't feel uncomfortable when I hear moderate sounds now, but when I played with AAF + UAP with sounds - these sounds often caused excessive discomfort.

This is because UAPMoans is made hrenovo, not because the idea of external voice acting sucks. And not the functional part itself, but how it is used. UAPMoans doesn't use even half of its capabilities.
External voice acting handles regular or random moans perfectly and with minimal effort.
Moreover, unlike the built-in sounds in hkx, it's not limited to a single voice type.
In UAPMoans, you can assign one or more separate sound sets for PCs and several sound sets for NPCs of both genders at once. And all this is in a single descriptor. UAPMoans will automatically select the appropriate sound set for each actor.
In my opinion, it's great when different actors in the same animation are voiced by DIFFERENT voices.
It all comes down to the number and quality of voice sets. UAPMoans has few of them, but they are easy to add. And to the functionality for setting playback timers.

@Holylokki You're talking about random moans, and you're partly right — in principle, they're suitable for any situation except for poses tagged ‘nosex’ or similar, but I don't like idea of using a complex dialogue system for this. I would rather do it through Say or Play in Papyrus. But again, I would like to see it in such a way that I have several folders with mp3/wav moans, and the game just randomly selects something from them depending on the scene. And I don't have to rack my brains over setting up a complex dialogue system if I want to add or change something.

So I see this like third-party mod. If no one wants to do it, then maybe someday I'll take it on...

It doesn't sound like anything overly complicated, although how many times have I thought that, only to stumble where I least expected it...

But that's exactly what UAPMoans does.
Yes, registering new voice sets requires editing esp and topicdata, but this method offers more customization options. I don't have to edit the script every time I add a separate set of moans for a specific character. Or a new descriptor with separate playback settings.

No, you're oversimplifying things. If a dialogue system is involved, the process of adding/changing sound is much more complicated than just putting an mp3 file in a folder. Even if it is ultimately called by the SayTopic script. Besides, it's somehow involved in the framework through the xml system. These are all unnecessary complications. I don't like it.
Again, I never said that everyone dislikes these sounds, but many people dislike these moans. It's a matter of taste and expectations, and has no direct relation to the animations. I would say that this should be done as a separate mod, rather than woven into the system.

I think you're completely misunderstanding something.

Not a single additional HKX is needed. An HKX doesn't store sounds; instead, it marks frames to trigger the playback of external sounds.

Have you ever considered why high heel sounds work? And even without an additional HKX? And why they work when walking, running, and sprinting?

And always perfectly synchronized with the HKX? This works because the animation (HKX) controls the corresponding sound—but doesn't contain it.

Just take a look at the CK (footsteps, etc.), and you'll see that the high heel sound is simply a "click sound" that the HKX plays with each step, precisely timed.

Regardless of the surface (material properties) and speed, whether walking forwards or backwards - always 100% at the right time using only frames.

So what?
Currently, existing animations contain references to strictly defined sound sets.
For example, calling sound descriptor in hkx:

Spoiler

Callable sound descriptor, only one voiceset, only one gender:

Spoiler

image.png.6a5e52142a986b962872a07c16ce53d8.png

And how can this descriptor be used to implement the existing functionality of UAPMoans, which has 16 different voice sets and 8 different conditions for their use?

Spoiler

image.png.1c014907c394b9320c14e33d7cd1eea9.png

Moreover, for regular/random moans to be perceived satisfactorily, there's no need to manually set precise playback timers. In most animations, these sound descriptors are randomly assigned. The only exceptions are those few sounds that require a strictly defined frame to play. But these, characteristically, don't fall under the definition of regular/random voices.

I admit that the external voice-over backend might be difficult to implement, as I have no idea how it's implemented. Setting up UAPMoans simply doesn't require access to it.

Is there a way to make this mod all things natural compatible with the mfg system of naf bridge because when this mod apply overlays to the face during animation, the applied mfg will be reset and the mfg can only be applied when playing the animation again

If it uses Reset3D (QueueUpdate) then face animation will be reseted. There is no easy way to fix it. Maybe just add check if actor has busy keyword before reseting and wait for actor will be free.

sorry but how would you add checks to it. Also I think it resets face animation because it apply and remove headparts in the middle of the animation and not at the start of the animation.

Hello I am having trouble with playing the animations.  I recently decided to remove some animation packs I was using and only use two.  Since I removed them the animation do not play.  Instead when a scene starts both character stand nude and in the same spot.  The mod was working fine until I removed those other animation packs.  Does anyone know how I can fix this?  The animations i have installed are Atomic Lust and FO4 Leito's Animations if that helps.

I think I'm in the right place. I'm using NAF to replace AAF with all sorts of AAF based mods. NAF and NAF bridge along with naficator play AAF animations for me good and very expediently. Game runs really good with this and 437 other mods. I can trigger animations to play on furniture with partners.

My problem is some AAF mods like Sexual Harassment don't kick off animations after the dialog from what I've seen so far. I also have Pervert, DD, RH, Violate, Bound In Public, Hardship (which I have to turn off from time to time because it interferes with thuggysmurf's mods) and all of the requirements with a bunch of animation packs. I'm not really at a stage in the game where I can see dialog or anything from other LL mods except Sexual Harassment.

The dialog plays and there is a few animations that will play that comes with Sexual Harassment, like a wrestling domination anim and a dancing anim (which NAF plays wonderfully), but the animations from the packs, which are suppose to play after that, just freeze the player (just the player) until I go into the MCM and reset it in the SH mod. Could be something I messed up.

I'm not saying this is because I'm using NAF, it could be because Sexual Harassment has problems that haven't been resolved.

It could also be because I'm using a male character and a mod to make sexual harassment gender neutral and it has problems that have not been resolved.

I haven't given up trying to figure this out on my own. I needed to post this here because I'm kinda stumped at the moment to what is actually going on.

I've looked thoroughly through the mods' support threads (SH, Pervert, and Hardship) and have not found anything like what I'm experiencing.

I'm from Skyrim and am somewhat new to the adult Fallout world. I had to get away from Skyrim for a bit. I feel like I'm learning pretty fast and want to learn more that will benefit me in putting together the game I want to play.

Hopefully someone has an idea and it can contribute to the development of this set up which I think is far superior to AAF based on my limited but not awesome experience with AAF.

@Evi1PandaThanks for your innovation on this project and your interest in Fallout 4. You are making FO4 a better place.

If there is anyway I can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to suggest something.

Did you run the Naficator? It's a separate mod from this but basically needed unless you want to manually edit almost every animation file. All the animations need to be re-keyed to work with NAF and the naficator will do that for you automatically with whatever animations you have installed. It's easier to use than FNIS and the other one I forgot the name of since it just does all the work on load-game then you alt-f4, disable the naficatior and load fallout 4 again and it should "just work". (it should make a folder called NAF in your override folder in MO2 and add some files to it, if it already has files inside the folder and you never used the naficator you should remove them all and run it and it will re-make them)

Harassment generally works fine with a male (and NAF), its just the language and a few minor consistency things that make it "weird". There's also male-focused and gender-neutral packs for it available here on the site.

Yes I did run the Naficator mod and disabled it when prompted. I have also said that I have the gender neutral version of Sexual Harassment.

I would like to get a hint where the errors are and how to fix them.

Posted (edited)

In an effort to try to get Sexual Harassment to work in my setup and after a grok search "what are the aaf files that make mods incompatible with NAF" and looking through all the files I think I know where to look, I continue to troubleshoot (mostly because it's just a little irritating). I did use AAF at a time. Of course, way before I started this playthrough, I deleted the AAF mod completely from my mods folder. I use MO2 and I made sure it was not in my mods folder. I didn't search for any files that installing AAF might leave behind at the time of starting this playthrough. I'm now searching for something AAF might have put in one of my folders. I don't see anything but mods that normally use AAF when I searched my Fallout 4 and my Fallout 4 data folder for "AAF".

So far, that is the only conclusion I can come up with as to why sexual harassment isn't working. I do also use a couple of other LL gameplay and quest mods and I don't see them working either. Maybe it's too early to tell. Maybe Boston device helper was working a little.

Ideas, anyone?

When it freezes (just the pc, not the game) because it's suppose to play an animation after the dialog, I can manually play an animation using NAF hotkey and reset all Sexual Harassment dialog afterwards, I would just prefer it if I didn't have to do all that.

I promise, when I figure it out, I will share. This is helping with this development and I love learning complex things outside of my own career field and my regular life. However, other than AI and scouring the internet I have nothing to do but put my question here.

I think these are the questions I need to ask assuming everything is working and I'm fucking it up.

*what are the aaf files that make mods incompatible with NAF

Spoiler

The core files from the Advanced Animation Framework (AAF) mod itself cause incompatibility with the Native Animation Framework (NAF) in Fallout 4 modding, as the two frameworks cannot run together—they conflict over resources, leading to warnings, crashes, or failure to load.

AAF and NAF (or NAF Bridge, which emulates AAF's API for broader mod support) are mutually exclusive animation frameworks. AAF must be fully uninstalled before installing NAF/NAF Bridge.

Key AAF Files to Remove

These are the primary files installed by the AAF core mod (typically from LoversLab). Removing them resolves the conflict:

Category Files/Folders Location Notes
Plugin AAF.esp (often flagged as ESL: AAF.esl) Data/ Core plugin; load order conflicts with NAF.
Scripts All .pex files in AAF/ folder (e.g., AAF_API.pex, AAF_Player.pex, AAF_AnimationPlayer.pex, AAF_Scene.pex, etc.—dozens total) Data/Scripts/AAF/ Papyrus scripts that register the AAF API and handle scenes; direct conflict with NAF's F4SE-based system.
MCM Menu AAF_MCM.swf Interface/ Mod Configuration Menu interface for AAF.

Steps to fix:

  1. Uninstall AAF completely via your mod manager (MO2/Vortex). Purge loose files if needed (e.g., search for "AAF" in your mod folder).
  2. Install NAF (core framework) from Nexus: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/73889.
  3. Optional but recommended: Install NAF Bridge for full AAF mod support (emulates AAF API): https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/87331. Requires NAF, F4SE, MCM, etc.
  4. Handle AAF animation mods (XML files): These are compatible with NAF. Copy XML files from Data/AAF/ to Data/NAF/, or use NAFicator (with NAF Bridge) to auto-convert/fix them:
    • Install AAF XML mods as usual.
    • Edit NAFicator.ini: Set sFolderFrom=/Data/AAF and sFolderWhere=/Data/NAF.
    • Run the game once at main menu (NAFicator processes files), then disable it.

Notes on XML Compatibility

  • NAF supports most AAF XML types: animationData, raceData, positionData, morphSetData, equipmentSetData, actionData, animationGroupData, furnitureData, positionTreeData, tagData, mfgSetData, overlayData, protectedEquipmentData.
  • reactionData may still lack full support (check NAF changelog for updates).
  • Rare mods (e.g., parts of Provocative Perks, SleepIntimate) may have partial issues due to unimplemented API calls, not files.

After removal, most AAF mods will work seamlessly with NAF/Bridge for better performance (faster loading, no black screens). Check NAF/Bridge posts for patches if issues persist.

*how to fix animation not playing using naf after sexual harassment mod in fallout 4
Spoiler

The issue you're facing is a compatibility problem: the Sexual Harassment mod (an adult AAF-based mod from LoversLab) doesn't natively support NAF (Native Animation Framework), which is a modern, performance-optimized replacement for the older AAF animation system.

NAF is faster, more reliable (no black screens, instant scene starts, multi-scenes), and built directly into F4SE, but AAF mods like Sexual Harassment need a "bridge" to work with it. AAF and NAF/NAF Bridge are fully incompatible—leftover AAF files will break animations or lock controls.

Quick Prerequisites Check

  • Fallout 4 version: Must be the original game (OG) v1.10.163 (Next-Gen/NG+ is incompatible).
  • Install these in order via your mod manager (Vortex/MO2):
    1. F4SE (latest for 1.10.163).
    2. Address Library for F4SE Plugins.
    3. LooksMenu.
    4. Mod Configuration Menu (MCM).
    5. Baka Factory.
    6. SUP F4SE.
    7. LL Fourplay (from LoversLab; required for adult mods).
  • Latest Visual C++ Redistributable (2019+).

Step-by-Step Fix

  1. Fully remove AAF:
    • Uninstall AAF and delete all related files/folders/plugins (e.g., Data/AAF, any .esp/.esm with AAF in name, LL Fourplay if bundled).
    • Clean your mod manager and LOOT your load order.
    • Verify no "AAF" folders linger in Data—this causes freezes or no animations.
  2. Install NAF:
  3. Install Sexual Harassment and other AAF mods:
  4. Install NAF Bridge:
  5. Convert animations with NAFicator (critical—fixes most "no animation" issues):
    • Download: https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/37164-naficator/
    • Install after NAF Bridge.
    • Edit Data/F4SE/Plugins/NAFicator/NAFicator.ini:
      text

      sFolderFrom=/Data/AAF
      sFolderWhere=/Data/NAF
      bNaficatorEnable=1

    • Launch game, wait for "NAFicator finished" message (may take time), exit.
    • Set bNaficatorEnable=0, relaunch. It auto-converts AAF XMLs (animations, positions, etc.) to NAF format and adds fixes like "noFurn" tags.
  6. Install animation packs:
    • Use AAF-compatible packs (e.g., RohZima, Anub etc.); NAFicator handles conversion. Copy any manual XMLs to Data/NAF.
    • Ensure packs have ESPs if needed (some animations require them to avoid clipping/stuck actors).
  7. Configure MCM:
    • Open MCM in-game:
      • NAF Bridge: Set furniture scanning to "SMART" (fixes settlement/invalid furniture issues). Override scene params if needed. Enable Animated Fannies if using CBBE/Fusion Girl.
      • Enable debug logging (bDebugAnimations=1 in INI) to check scene starts.
      • Disable slow drying if no Cum Overlays.
    • Test a scene via NAF's in-game studio (hotkey in MCM).
  8. Load order (LOOT it):
    • LL Fourplay early.
    • NAF/Bridge mid.
    • Sexual Harassment late.
    • Animation ESPs last.

If Animations Still Don't Play

Issue Fix
No scene triggers Check Sex Attributes integration; verify harasser approaches (not teleporting). Reinstall Sexual Harassment.
Actors stuck/clipping Install animation ESPs; add race graph in XML (e.g., RaiderRootBehavior.hkx).
Controls locked post-scene Update to latest NAF Bridge (v0.52+ fixes); use console DIEL or check aaSUPF4SEDebugPrint.txt log.
Wrong/solo anims hijacked MCM: Ignore IncludeTags off; NAF Bridge v0.529+ fixes tag excludes.
CTD/black screen Rare now; enable $BR_SLOW_SCRIPT in MCM; confirm no AAF remnants.

Read the beginner guide: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/articles/6185. Test in a new save. If issues persist, post logs on LoversLab NAF Bridge thread. This setup makes Sexual Harassment fully functional on NAF with better performance.

Sex Harassment works very well. Also with Pervert. We need your logs, not the logs of your conversations with Grok. See troubleshooting article.

I read it, but I still don't understand what exactly I need to check, what EAP is, which scene isn't working, or what isn't working in the scene. In my FF scene, dildo is in its place. Can you make report so that I don't have to solve puzzles and study huge documents where it's unclear where to look?

The rules for reports have been written, but you're throwing some document around instead of logs. Okay, you threw the document, maybe it's needed, but then explain where to look in it, what do you want me to see in it?

Another one throws his conversations with Grok around. Seriously?) Such reports make me want to cry.

Look, you're asking Grok, and that's right — to use modern technologies. But Grok doesn't know what isn't written anywhere. How would he know which mods are incompatible, for example? You can ask Grok how exactly to install them and give him a link to the documentation, then Grok, after studying the documentation, will be able to answer you in simple terms. Or explain some points that you didn't understand. Or you can ask him about compatibility, but you need to provide all the documentation and resource code, only then will he be able to give you a correct answer. And you want him to have some knowledge that he doesn't have, just by asking him a question.
