Are the Sophita specific events supposed to end after the interaction between Paltrea and Lola after she shows up?  Feels like there was meant to be more happening, so I'm not sure if that's just something you're still working on or the game having issues.

I'm currently on my Desktop now, rather than my laptop, and now I can't get the proper species trait to inherit even when not using the mod which seemed to cause problems before, (Love Marriage Family). I have no mods from the workshop which touch offspring, so do you know if a mod from lovers lab aside from this one would do so?  And why is it that load order doesn't seem to fix this?

I actually have not used a fair few mods on LL so I have no idea which ones could be an issue. Striped Imps is also a 2D mod but I developed Species with that mod in mind so they should work just fine.

May be a Longshot but is there a guide or something to making your own species traitor and portraits like this? Or potentially a way to commission a new one? Cause I've been trying to more or less reverse engineer this or the imps but I can't for the life of me figure out how yall did it. Can't even find where it pulls the portrait images from to potentially add more.

It is very confusing to set up. I haven't touched it myself in a long time. In short, no there is no guide at all. I might take a comission for it, but I would have to try and remind myself how it all works.

that's fair enough. in the meantime, when it comes to adding more portraits is that just dropping cropped images into a file or is there more to it than that? i see people talking about deleting them (for whatever reason) but i cant manage to find them to begin with. if it is simple the file path would be much appreciated, otherwise keep making great mods, your work is appreciated.

No it is not that simple. The PNG needs to be defined in multiple places. The people deleting some of them will likely be pasting a different image on top of the old one, otherwise their will be bugs.

A bit of a late reply, but here goes :

 

Hello, there is a .info file in the Phaze Species folder (where the descriptor file is located), that contains a summary of what you need to do to create your own specie.

It's a bit of a tedious process, but it works. I am actually running a custom specie based on eevee and it's evolutions, about 150 portraits sets now, and works perfectly.

You can open the file with notepad++

Ooh, do you mind showing / sharing the eevee species? Sounds like a fun time. Did you just make them share an image set or are there conditions? I had Eevee stiff on my list and I was going to try and make mechanics to determine which form you would take.

I'm not good enough yet to implement conditions really, so i made pictures for every evolutions and put them one after the other (all espeon pics, then all flareon pics, etc), i use barbershop to choose an evolution depending on the character's highest skill (for example : my character's highest skill is learning = i choose an espeon pic, my character's daughter highest skill is martial = i give her a flareon or jolteon pic. All evolutions are clothed to represent the skill i thought would suit them).

 

The art style isn't accurate with yours though, couldn't replicate it.

 

As of right now there are all evolutions + basic eevee :

 

        eevee has : 4 female pics, 2 futa pics, 2 male pics and 1 for each child type (female, male and futa)

        all the other evolutions (in order of appearance : espeon, vaporeon, leafeon, jolteon, umbreon, glaceon, sylveon and lastly flareon) have : 14 female pics, 4 futa pics, 4 male pics and 1 for each child type

 

Since I don't remember all the files that needed to be modified and/or added to make this specie i'll drop the whole mod folder if you don't mind :)

For those who want to test it, just replace Phaze's species mod with this, it already contains the whole original mod, just with my addon

Figured I'd check before shredding the files with CTRL+F "Species name" 6 times to get plug and play species mods

There is...technically.

You can go in traits folder, open the Phaze_species_trait file and set 'birth=' and 'random creation=' to '0' on any species you DON'T want to see in game.

It should stop them from spawning at start and randomly for events, recruitment or any character generation really, unless event or specific trigger uses a specie in particular.

It's a barebone modification but it should work, I personally do the opposite and set everything to 100 so there is as many species and as few humans as possible.

Thanks I'll give this a try for the all in one, I've been busy and haven't done much testing but I did get the chance to separate the species into separate folders that seem to work as standalone but haven't mixed and matched yet

Don't want to speak on Phazes but they've probably got their hands full with the 2 futa mods, so getting an update here would really be a whim and just take away the more popular mod development time. 

 

You could do like Grim and make content that could be incorporated, easiest probably would be taking the horse content from Milfy Mod and retooling it if you want a baseline to work off of.

Now he's also gonna start that total conversion too. Judging by the names of some of the contries, he'll at least be using the framework of species for a couple.

The goal is to make them 3D this time around. 2D came with a lot of back end issues.
