Diary Of Mine - Stories

View File

This mod modifies the default quests for a few NPCs to make them aware of the Diary Of Mine possibilities. Voices are from xVaSynth 3.0.

You need DOM version 5.4.3 or newer for the stories to work.

Version 1.0.4 is to be used with DOM 5, 1.0.73 with DOM 7.2 to 7.5, and version 1.0.8 with DOM 7.6+

So far, only the story of Camilla Valerius is completed, with two quests. the story of Saadia is WIP with a few DOM aware dialogues.

The Story of Camilla

A lovely Letter

Spoiler
  • You can get both Sven and Faendal letters by talking to them in any order.
  • You can choose to give both letters to Camilla and she will drop both her lovers. Your relationship to Sven and Faendal will drop, but your relationship to Camilla will grow.
  • If you give both letters to Camilla you will have to first comfort her, then deliver the news to Faendal and then Sven and finally come back to Camilla for a reward.
  • The reward is in Camilla's last dialogue and it is a change in her personality. her default personality is honest, drama-queen, outgoing, spirited, open-minded, spirited and tough. You have 4 options to alter her personality:
    1. Be nice: Boosts agreeableness and sensuality. Changes to gentle, sentimental, slutty, sociable, forgiving, spirited and tough. Humiliation and anger training will be easier.
    2. Be flirty: Boosts conscientiousness and submissivity. Changes to honest, drama-queen, outgoing, perfectionist, open-minded, spirited and tough. Resignation and anger training will be easier.
    3. Be harsh: Decreases extraversion and toughness. Changes to honest, anxious, open-minded and independent. Humiliation and fear training will be easier.
    4. Be neutral: No changes.
  • If Camilla is your slave, Sven and Faendal can be told to forget about her. They will anyhow hand their letters to you and the quest continues as usual.
  • Faendal will NOT come and visit Camilla if she is your slave or if their relationship falls below 0.

The Golden Claw

Spoiler
  • You can talk to Camilla to about the break-in, but she will actually send you back to Lucan. Still, it might give you a boost in your relationship to her.
  • After you talk to Lucan and ask about the break-in, don't forget to wait for the scene between Lucan and Camilla. Once the scene ends, Camilla will go out. Follow her so she can show you the mountain. After that she will escort you to the bridge. Once around the inn, she might hesitate a bit, you should go ahead to the end of town and she will catch up or run back to her.

  • Once at the bridge you can ask Camilla the road one more time and you'll be offered 3 choices:

    1. Send her back to town. That's also the default option if you don't talk to her at the bridge.

    2. Thank her and be a bit flirty. It will boost her relationship to you.

    3. Ask her to follow you further. She will only answer positively if your relationship with her is high enough. Make sure to start with DOM "Let's have a chat" and ask about her personality and feelings, then ask her about the break-in and do not talk to Lucan yet, rather do the "Lovely Letter" quest and expose both Faendal and Sven.

  • Do not try to recruit Camilla as a follower before the quest is finished. Only ask her to follow you through the above dialogue.
  • If you missed your opportunity with Camilla, you'll have one more chance to ask her to show you the way, but only if your relationship is high enough and you're both at the Riverwood's Trader. You could consider doing the "Lovely Letter" quest to raise relationship.
  • Once you recovered the claw, Lucan can reward you with gold or a special item (A bludgeon to knock your enemies) or he might even be convinced to hand out Camilla has a reward. Just be persuasive. If you go with the last option, she will become your slave, beware as the enslavement might be a bit slow, be patient.

  • You can also hand out the claw to Camilla to boost your relationship to her. You could even ask her to enter your service as a slave. She might refuse and in this case you should turn to Lucan, he will be easier to convince.

  • If Camilla has been following you to the barrows, you should talk to her to release her after the end of the quest. After that she can be hired as a follower. The option to hire her as a follower won't be present if you didn't take her with you to the barrows.

  • If Camilla is already your slave, the dialogues will be slightly different, but the outcome will be the same.

just tested. A Lovely Letter works flawlessly however I can't seem to get the golden claw to work anyway but vanilla. Tried with both my current save (hadn't done the claw turn in yet.) as well as a new save. not discouraged though as I know you're currently looking into it and you consistently do amazing work  :) . looking forward to the final result.

Are you planning any other npcs? Delphine could use fixing some of her attitude.

Saadia is next on my list. I tend to ignore Delphine, so I will only consider her if I get enough input from you guys.

golden claw doesn't seem to work even on a new save, other works great tho

Yes, for now it's only the introductory dialogues which are different if Camilla is enslaved. I updated the description.

I'm following this one for sure.  You've done such good work already, and your mention of doing Saadia next has thoroughly peaked my interest.  Might I also suggest a story for Nilsine Shatter-Shield, as an alternative to killing her?  One for Olfina Gray-Mane would be fun as well, perhaps for players who join the Legion.

When I play, I am always change Golden claw for Camilla 🤣

  • Lucan might offer Camilla has a reward, in exchange of the Golden Claw. Not working yet.

Never say no to the DB. Especially after he cut through bandits and draugr to get your precious.

I updated the mod description regarding this aspect. You can already alter Camilla's personality with the end dialogue of "A lovely Letter".

idk about anyone else but i still can't get the claw quest working

edit:  after returning with the claw it doesn't finish or progress

edit x2: i have a strong suspicion that the mod conflicts with AA although i don't have time to test it more today

I might have missed a script in the package. Use version 1.0.0 for the moment or ignore the Claw quest. It's  a hard quest to crack with quite a few scenes and side quests.

Just installed on my current playthrough, already had the claw but not yet handed it in.

Upon saying "I have the claw" Lucan says his lines but the quest does not progress.

the "I have the claw" option remain available to both Camilla and Lucan, but it doesn't progresses.

@TrollAutokill To fix the quest, all you have to do is remove the "Goodbye" flag from the dialog topics. They're causing the dialogue to exit out instead of continuing onto the custom responses. But, is Camilla supposed to be enslaved automatically when the quest ends (because she's not), or do you have to do it yourself with PAHE's system?

I am pretty sure the goodbye flags were removed in version 1.0.1. Still I will do more tests next week.

I tried redownloading and reinstalling 1.0.1, but it looks like it still has those flags. Is it possible you accidentally uploaded 1.0.0 again thinking it was 1.0.1?

No, but it's possible the esp is not the latest.

I tried to turn in the golden claw normally, but Lucan just wouldn't take the damn thing. He gave the usual vanilla dialogue, but the claw never got removed from my inventory and the quest didn't conclude. I had to uninstall in order to finish the golden claw quest. I'll try and snag Camilla with the letter quest.
