IFAZER Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I haven't been paying much attention to this mod in a while, but it appears that there is a new update. Perhaps now I can put armor on the kids. Also, how would I do a "full clean" so that I can install the update? Are there certain files from the old one I have to delete?
Minski Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 This is my favorite child replacer mod, so thanks for the excellent work. This time I'm only using it for the kid replacer feature, but I had a Skykid character a while back, which looked great. Anyway, if I had a wish list, it would be to make it possible to give adopted kids clothes. I really like the adoption feature in Skyrim and one of the fun things is to give them gifts, but if you give them a vanilla child outfit, they turn "naked" as they aren't set up to use them.

johann7124 Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 If it was from Children + Soul Gems, it is most likely from the clothing selected for them. Using the console I was able to change them to a different version and it worked just fine.

DreadPolack Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 For some reason, the NPC children are wearing armor instead of their default clothing. This happened once while using a previous version of Skykids. Rerunning the armor patcher fixed that before. Without that program, any ideas?

AgentBoogeyman Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I don't know if this has been brought up since the lastest version was released, so forgive me for repeating a known or solved issue, but I have found a mistake in the Skykids.esm "Armor Addon" section in TES5Edit. In AdoNakedFeetAlt, "_skchildAlt-ChildImperial [RACE:040261C6]" was missing in the Additional Races section. I prefer the alt bodies simply because they have better proportions (The giant mongoloid heads of the new bodies just bugs me), so I have been tearing my hair out trying to figure out why the male Imperial children were always missing their feet. I thought it was a mesh or texture issue at first, but after a long long journey and crash course in TES5Edit, I have finally discovered the culprit. One quick TES5Edit patch later and lo and behold, they have feet again. If anyone else is having this issue, I'll just leave the patch I made here. SkyKidsImperialPatch.esp

Seems latest Skykids doesn't compatible with XPMSE3(XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended 3, coming out one month and 8 days later after Skykids' beta 5 was out) skeleton, caused it disabled its features when using Skykids races, are you consider to support it? (If someone already reported this problem, I'm sorry about don't know that and report again.) Also, found a glitch about the armor model with Skykids' race character, just check the screenshots in spoiler section. The armor is from "Knights of the Garter" mod, it's the one of customable textures of armor set in KotG mod(All named "Heraldic Steel Plate Cuirass" in game, and used the same mesh with "Armor of the Castle Guard" from the same mod as default armor for the guards in the new castle areas which added by the mod), due my lazyness, so I did not tested all armors from that mod one by one for check if has such glitch since the mod is huge. (But if someone want to do, check the Form IDs from CK and just use console to get them would be good idea ) Red circle marks, as you can see the flesh part of the mesh, it very visable on some angles of camera... EDIT: Tested with brand new game with Skykids race(was using Imperial Child race) and the glitch mention above is not there(or not very visable?), but I noticed the boots on that mod all have a hole on that...Skykids race also have this problem.

I thought it was incompatible with various things, but the menu freezes even with stuff deactivated or uninstalled. I play as a female Imperial Child...who no longer has any feet. I checked and my MO install of Skykids still has the female feet nif and it isn't overwritten by anything. Does anyone know what could cause this glitch? It's not game breaking as I'm usually wearing boots, but it's very visually annoying.

Yay! I actually merged it into my batched patch and it works fine. Ok, I have another issue to ask about. Does anyone have the glitch where the crafting menu automatically closes right after you craft anything? It makes crafting very hard because I have to only make one thing at a time and my recipe lists are quite long. I have no idea what mods could be causing this but thought I would check here.
Acornus Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Check Grimey and SkyTweak on Nexus, one of those mods allows you to craft multiple copies of an item in 1 go. As for the bug itself, I don't use SkyKids, so no idea if it's centric here. Maybe change the loading order and try again? If you have any crafting mods, those should take priority of any mod and races.
carl1489 Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 I recently installed several armour mods, but when I entered the smithing menu I had a lot of missing models. I have used Skykids for a while and not had any issues. All the missing models start with 'Kids:' and end with either 'FX117' or 'x117'. I have some like this which work fine, but there are too many missing to list. I've tried to google one or two of the missing, such as 'archers cape' but found absolutely nothing. I was modding while tired.....not sensible I know, and I could've easily downloaded mods for a different replacer entirely, though the Kids: bit makes me think not. Any help welcome! Thanks.
