Recommended Posts

Hello

I have been really hesistant to ask this but I have downloaded all the required files and the mod files.

I am unable to figure out how to use the installer version of this. I'm sure I am just missing something.

I'm new to modding and have several mods using nmm. I have read through the instructions on this thread.

but can't seem to locate the installer file. can anyone help?

Use NMM to install the mod, click on the plus button and select the downloaded file.

Thanks johann7124,

I just loaded it manually got it running.

All right, cool. Also, I just found out most of the armor mods I have don't work with the Skykids SKSE patcher. Is there a way to fix that? Do I need to manually patch it or something? I have tried asking around here before and never got an answer, so if anyone else knows what to do let me know.

Here are the main mods I'd like to see working if possible. From what I can tell, these are supposed to work already with the automatic patcher, so it may be me doing something wrong. Every single armor in these mods doesn't seem to work.

"They don't work" isn't a very descriptive troubleshooting request...

Are they invisible when equipped by a Skykids race? If not, they are working correctly and as advertised.

If your complaint is that they do not fit the child bodies, I did directly address your previous post when I stated that it does not refit meshes. You have to have a separate child version of every armor mesh that you want to fit the Skykids races properly, and the mod only includes the vanilla and DLC armors and clothing. Everything else--including mod-added armor--uses the adult meshes, because they actually exist.

Ah gosh darn it. Is there a way to adjust them myself?

Also sorry I must have totally missed your previous post, my bad. Thanks for the help tho

It works, but there is a slight learning curve.

So, I have this problem in which I have only one option for hair, and I already uninstalled, reinstalled three times and still doesn't work. And I'm not even talking about Apachii or Oblivion, I literally only have the default option of hair.

Reinstall Racial Compatibility(make sure to use the version linked in the OP), and tell it to overwrite all files.

Sorry if this is a stupid question:

Is it normal that the "Expressions" sliders on the RaceMenu panel are not working on SkyKids? That would also mean that Skykids are not showing any emotion during dialogs etc., correct? Is there any way to fix it or am I doing something wrong here?

Isnt the alternate male body and the female body based on UNP? Do you believe it could be possible to make fitting armors for girls and boys with the proper UUNP files and preset in Bodyslide?

Found a conflict. The latest Skykids ESM and the mod Tavern Games  causes Skyrim to CTD at the main menu right after the dragon symbol pops up. Also tested with the previous build that used the Skyproc patcher, there was no CTD.

Whoa thanks for pointing out the cause of those crashes, I would have never figured out that Tavern Games was the culprit

I don't know if this has been mentioned already, this thread is kinda long... :)

I realized that you get the grey faces bug if you use the vanilla race replacer while also using the alternate male body. I looked into that and figured out that this can be resolved by explicitly adding the Head Part "AdoMaleHeadNord" to the NPCs (or the respective other HeadPart matching the race and gender). It seems that the default reference as used by the CK doesn't work with the alternate body.

I made a patch of the vanilla NPC replacer for myself. I don't know if en_hawk or somebody else also encountered that problem and fixed it already. If yes, I'd like to ask for a pointer. Otherwise I'd be happy to share my corrected replacer esps.

my nexus and LOOT say it is okay

but nothing changed in the game

so what?

If you start a new game, do you get Child Races to select (assuming that you've installed the option for playable childs as well)?

Interesting, so are you saying that with no changes to the male/alt male plugins themselves, that this fixes the issue in testing under both body types? I'd written the issue off as a loss due to engine limitations, with unreasonable maintenance overhead to circumvent, hence my silence on the matter despite knowing it as an outstanding bug.

Double check everything to make sure it all works under both modes, but if so go ahead and upload your files, I'll want to take a look...

Wait... Am I able to use the expression scale with this mod, right? I'm pretty sure when I used beta 3 it had that option, now it doesn't, gosh what am I doing wrong now? (Also, why can't I make use of some scales? I would love give my character elf ears without being an elf, did I forget to download the addon that makes me do this? And before anyone asks, yes I have the new XPMSE for this race)

Second edit. I just want to clear up something. If I alter the vanilla armors/clothes, will SkyKids clothing be okay or will it become invisible?

That depends on what you alter. You should have no problems as long as you don't mess with body slots or the armatures on the ARMO records.

There you go: SK Vanilla Child Replacers.7z

I also wrote a small TES5Edit Script which can be applied to any NPC replacer mod. It will fix this problem automatically: Fix SK Grey Faces.7z

Is this at initial character creation?

No(thought it wasn't supposed to be used at initial). I keep a clean save in Helgen for when something doesn't work right. I can't change the hair in that save or any other. Reinstalled the RC to no avail.

The Monli presets all use the same hair as well (don't know which pack it's from).
