I'm wondering if someone can help me figure out why I keep getting CTDs, and what I can do. Log attached. I've several non-deterministic crashes happening that essentially all appear the same. I've noticed that it increases in frequency in busy areas, and I suspect it has something to do with a spell effect DDNG is adding (perhaps one used to apply the animations?) and OAR is shitting itself dry because of it.

I've been living with a problem for a year that is really ruining my experience with the game, but it isn't something that can't be worked around, but I really, really need this fixed. I'm not sure if it is related to this mod, but it began happening around the time when I installed this. Also, it seems that someone should know exactly what file I need to mess with to fix this. 

 

Problem: 
When an ebonite armbinder (no other DD item, and not leather armbinders. ONLY red, white, and black ebonite armbinders) is equipped on an NPC or the PC, the screen goes into a fragmented image where you can't see anything. If it is one PC, the game is unplayable, and I have to cheat my way out of the armbinder to keep playing. If it is an NPC it messes up my field of vision when I am facing the NPC but will clear up if I turn away from them. What I've done:

Yes, I run bodyslide, did morphs, and batch built them. I've run bodyslide so many times trying different options on the armbinders and nothing works.
Yes, I run FNIS

I've reinstalled mods to try to write over the offending file and this seemed to work a long time ago, but the problem came right back, I'm sure when I updated whatever is breaking this file. Wish I had in idea of which mod is doing it. 
I've tried manually replacing files in the data folder with copies from various mod zips but can't solve the problem. Actually, this may have been what solved it long ago, but I have no idea what file I need to overwrite. 

 

I can try to replace the offending files, but I need help locating which one is the specific problem. Is this a mesh problem? A texture file? I know very little about all of this, so can't figure out what I'm dealing with.

Looks like broken or incomplete mesh construction, perhaps with Bodyslide.  Kinda like when filename0.nif and filename1.nif are different.  Were this my mod, I'd run the files through Cathedral Assets Optimizer (available on the Nexus) maximizing the mesh settings in the program options.  Otherwise, no idea.  Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. It might be a start as to what file is messing up. It isn't my mod that is doing it. It is some mod in my playthroughs that has done this for the past year. If you have more informative console open it and then click on the broken mesh use the arrows to cycle through meshes, to find it you type disable, if you see nothing happening on screen then type enable, you found the broken mesh or at least the npc wearing it if it's clothing if the weird graphics are gone after a disable. Note the name of the mesh and then enable it again.  Then you have to search for it in your data folder and open it in nifskope to try correct it or use CAO to try correct it also.

Are meshes installed as part of a mod or are they constructed when you do bodyslide?

 

Both.  Many (not all) mods include meshes, found in a data>meshes folder.  Bodyslide takes a meshes .nif file and, using a pattern contained in the Shapedata folder and, when you "build a body" or "build an armor" Bodyslide creates filename0.nif and filename1.nif.  I'm oversimplifying a description of what is happening, and I'm certainly no expert, but that will give you an idea of how the system works.

 

If you hand modify a mesh, say alter filename0.nif in nifskope and don't do the same alteration in finename1.nif, the result, when you view the object in the game, will look a lot like what your image appears to be.  I'm guessing here, but I suspect I'm not far from the truth.  Looks like a bad mesh, or maybe more than one bad mesh, to me.  

 

Cathedral Asset Optimizer can't fix everything, but it's a good place to start, at least in my experience.  

 

Perhaps someone with more expertise than I enjoy can jump in here and explain or analyze this better than I.

Afterthought ............ did you maybe inadvertently mix  some LE files in your SE build?  And animation files also include meshes ............ did FNIS throw any errors?  Or Pandora or Nemesis if you use one of them?

If only this object has a problem u can try give people this item ID  or u find out this item MOD id use SSEEdit or Creation Kit find this item of file。

Im experiencing random freezes that I am forced to force close the game to continue, I did a new playthrough and installed a few new mods and update a few others witch NG DD is one of the mods that I had updated, I had started to descart mods one by one to see witch one is the culprit however I haven't found the culprit, the only one I haven't uninstalled yet is NG DD because is one of the dependences for a lot of the mods Im using and that would definitely kill my save.

 

So my question is: somebody else is experimenting Freezes with this mod or is just me and something else is afecting my game??

if u are equipment DD armor get Freeze that is  Causes the DD NG "plug/patch/mod" to freeze. if u Removal all following  DD NG plug/patch/mod ， u are still get Freeze that is DD NG Incompatible some one Mod。 i guess u are Install Too many useless NPCs， if u are Enter Pub and Small Space get Freeze

Does the DD Beast Race Refit portion of the mod not work with NG? Or is it possible that my bodyslide screwed up during making the outfits? I tried making a Khajiit, and when I  went to equip her a gag, the gag was invisible. It was just your average  ball gag.

use old Devious Devices - BRRF.esp Overwrite the DD NG u can see the DD NG BRRF.ESP only have 1KB if u only want fast  Solve the problem of not seeing the meshes. but  ponzipyramid, want u create or Revise Devious Devices - Expansion.esm and patch/plug/mod, because he/she merge other esp but u can use SSEEdit Check  he/she forget some thing...  blah blah blah .

Head gear, piercings and plugs are fine, bras and belts are invisible and  anything else I equip makes the body part transparent and has a black smokey look to the area. If it was invisible, that would be bodyslide, but it's just arm, leg and body shaped black smoke.

is there a list of devious mods that will work almost with no problems, the forums are very hard to see through. and i got often problems like corupted or incomplete 3ba conversions or some buggy old and never updated mod like cursed loot and so on.

Bras and belts could be because of device hider. Are you using some sort of mod that is messing with your body slot causing device hider to glitch out?

Elves have this problem too, so I guess they are considered a beast race?

I would like to ask the same question. I am on v0.3.7 and its also greyed out on a fresh new game.

I never cared about the Device Hider menu nor that I understand it :] but I wanted to try a new mod (Greyspammer's Trapped In Rubber) that recommended to deactivate the device hider so that NPCs can equip hoods.

Maybe its also sufficient to deactivate all rules down the menu and set everything to "None (Disabled)".

Anyways I gonna try it and see what happens 😬

I can't get anything on the chest/torso slot to show up anyone have a clue? Already disabled all slot 32 in DD MCM to no avail

 

Solved : I had slot 58 (corset) active set it to disabled and got the item finaly showing up

Ok couldn't turn it off still but setting EVERYTHING  on the "device underneath" pages to disabled  made previously invisible item finaly appear

After a sexlab scene.The bow disappears, while the weapon disappears when it is sheathed I fixed the problem by rolling back Devious Devices NG to 0.2 and restoring Devious Devices SE patch.esp.

First I have to say good work out there, finally there are heroes who have reworked the awkward DD animations. And the compatibility with UD works fine to me. Unfortunately there are still a little bit of issues about the compatibility with Unforgiving Skyrim quest, especially when going to alchemy station quest after having sex the game will freeze and stop responding

Is it possible to get the vibe & horny animations to be shorter, or at least interruptible? It is extremely disruptive and immersion breaking (I switched to DD-NG and the new animations are nice, but disruptive)
