DocClox Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 (edited) Once again, I'd ask that we leave this thread for discussion of the technical issues around creating a new sex framework. There are plenty of threads that can be used to debate the relative merits of the game, including what effect they might have on the modding scene. Let's keep this thread for purely technical stuff. Otherwise any useful information will be lost, swamped in the inevtiable "Oh yes it is!"/"Oh no it isn't!" that represents the usual cut-and-thrust of Starfield debates. On 1/11/2024 at 11:33 PM, vallixas said: Now if we can get some to start porting Skyrim/Fallout animation mods The biggest problem, technically speaking, is that we need some way to launch animations from papyrus. That won't happen until the SFSE devs include Papyrus integration, and I don't think they're planning that until they get a CK and official versions of the vanilla scripts. So that's the major roadblock at the moment. Until we can solve that, anything we do is basically screen archery. Speaking of which, Maxie's Screen Archer Menu from Fallout 4 has been ported to Starfield, along with a number of Fallout and Skyrim poses, including the Gunslicer ones. So anyone who basically wants to do Starfield story blogging or similar can probably do so with what we have already. Edited January 18, 2024 by DocClox 6
brown66 Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Maybe this mod will help the modders here. https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/8167
modder focker Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Do we have a date for CK launch? I just want to bang Andreja and Sarah

I just want to bang Andreja and Sarah "Early 2024" is the latest and most specific date we have at the moment. I think most people expect something by the end of February, March at the latest... It is in Bethesda's (and Microsoft's) best interest to get the CK modding tools out as quickly as possible, because they know that mods are what both attract people to keep coming back to their games, and are the single source of the longevity of Bethesda titles. Other than the drama around NAF for Fallout 4, I know snapdragon is working on a version of NAF for Starfield as well. It would be fantastic to get integration with those features/functions, as in-game animating could be a huge benefit to the scene. 1

So I would say for Starfield a month or two after the Shattered Space DLC.

They said "early 2024" for CK, but just "2024" for SS. 1

While the sales will be good the interest of Microsoft Bethesda is to take time and to launch the DLC first, and it's now enforced by the fact that the gamePass users did not (for now) pay for the game but will surely pay for the DLC 😗 Modding is a spare wheel. Yea that's what I'm thinking. It seemed strange to bring the CK out straight after the main release and not after the first DLC had been on sale like they had for Fallout and Skyrim.

Its also much harder for any company to bugfix a new release when half the bugs reported are caused by noobie modding Edited January 24, 2024 by Halstrom 2

You add 1 tiny wrong .xml to AAF in Fallout 4 and the whole thing breaks, Sexlab never let me down meanwhile. ❤️ Yup, AAF is probably one of the most fragile frameworks in these games I have seen, I would sort of expected there to be some sort of check in the framework itself to test animation packs and if they fail it simply ignores them, logging the error, nope instead it basically kills the framework. 2

Hmm not 100% sure but I think Flashy the developer of R.S.E was heading towards that goal. before leaving the community. 1
