I see no warning on that mod in the list.

The mod is part of the list, and just has obtuse install instructions that make you download two files and merge them.

Edit: I just found the note in the tips and tricks post 'Also make sure you didn't install the groundcovers of the 'Skyrim 3D Landscapes'.'

that said I am not having issues and I like the look with the ground covers. so *Shrug*

Regardless, I've still got the issue after switching the settings Aylis had.

I'm thinking I either need to switch to Rudy or use the settings you've got, but since that goes against the list I'll probably just go with Rudy.

I did not like the look of Rudy it was to dark inside.

And I swear the ground spike returned on that for me until I tweaked my enbseries.ini again.

Let me know how it goes for you.

Got it! Thaaaaank fuck. Just needed to add that last line and clear the cache.

@Aylis For Pi Cho, this file will work. I literally just made the changes from your Rudy enbseries.ini and added the missing "EnableComplexMaterial=false" (and cleared the cache). Here's my file if you want to upload it for people that are sticking with Pi Cho.

enbseries.ini

@nightred Same. Beautiful during the day, too dark at night. I know that's part of the point but it made playing a chore sometimes. It also hit my FPS harder than Pi Cho, but it looks like with NAT that may be reversed now. I might mess with it next playthrough.

Exactly, as it caused some issues here.

Not really, i'm actually trying to reduce the number. I only added 'saLa' because i simply forgot to add it to the guide in the first place (using it for a long time now).

I'm curious, did we ever solve the DYNDOLod issue that we ran into back on page 66? Or was downgrading to Wyrebash 310 the answer?

Will have to take a look.

@All

Anyone having problems with the guards in Markarth? Sometimes they are not wearing their armor and keep them in their inventory. Switching the area doesn't help as it fixes some but then breaks other guards.

Totally perplexed as this worked before... I guess i have found the next group i have to check for hidden conflicts.

I ran into a similar problem with Solitude guards a while back. I suspected SPID not being fast enough. Targeting any streaking guard via console and doing a 'resetinventory' fixed it for that savegame (even on later visits).

Good to know that it can happen somewhere else.

I already have an idea what the problem could be and running a build that hopefully fixes it.

Checking on guards:

The bug seems to be a blessing in disguise as it pushes me into making a change. In my testrun the guards look now way better than before and there's less to download.

Update to V 1.0.2

This is more a hotfix than an update. But as it is an important bugfix, and everyone has to do it, i'll handle it like an update.

The issue was that sometimes the armors of the guards were not correctly applied and the guards were either nude or just floating heads. Also it is one of the bugs that could happen in different places or not at all. Thankfully finding the cause was quite simple. 'Guards Armor Replacer' and 'Sons of Skyrim' were clashing over priority.

Mods to REMOVE

Note

To prevent anything like this from happening again i'll be focusing on clothing and armor for now. There are a few i wanted to add anyway so it is a good time to go through them.

Yeah, and maybe some THICC ASS too... ?

No, i simply igore those and don't give them the attention they're so obviously looking for.

I might add Aura's Inventory Tweak later. But i have to test it first.

@Aylis

So I actually had been testing some of those UI mods. It does get detailed. Maybe finish figuring out the armor first so you can then focus on this UI stuff (instead of sleeping!). Some thoughts:

You have probably already seen it, but on the Description page for Aura's Scrumptious Supplement (A.S.S. for B.O.O.B.I.E.S.), it lists the two paths to take (WhereDeadAngelsLie's version or GroundAura's version), and recommended mod choices, mod order, load order, and other info.

With very minimal testing so far, I am leaning towards GroundAura's path/version. It covers more with fewer mods. It focuses on Aura's Inventory Tweaks for SkyUI (AIT), which has a treasure trove of UI mod info on its description page. AIT replaces/includes A.S.S. and P.E.N.I.S. Also, GroundAura seems more active than WhereDeadAngelsLie, at least on the Nexus.

It is compatible with Dear Diary Dark Mode (which many of us use), and in fact GroundAura reminds me of uranreactor's great attention to documenting/including UI mods and their interactions. Even if you don't use any of these mods, the Dear Diary and AIT description pages are good resources for UI mods.

When you install AIT and it's requirements, you may want to go into the menus (inventory, etc) and click the settings icon to config.

One thing: all this stuff does make changes to lists, categories, etc, so it may be hard to see the full implications at first. Some of the changes may be "under the hood".

Edit: Oh crap, my post is at the dreaded "soon to be forgotten" bottom of the page!

@Aylis That is super weird. I've never seen any of those issues, ever, and I'm running both GAR and SOS. Something else is causing the conflict, it definitely isn't those two not playing nice. The only thing I've ever noticed is Ralof deciding to apparently change clothes completely between the opening sequence and running up to the gate to talk shit with Alvor. No invisible floating heads or any of that. I'm also still running VAR and all the other NordwarUA armor sets. Don't know if you'd like to take a look of if you're through troubleshooting, but I've attached my load order. That's so effing weird.

Also, a couple of SPID mods to look at for armor that's already in the list. I usually don't add extra armor because I don't ever craft any, but these seem to make sense to put them into the world.

League of Assassins - Chance for it to spawn on bandits and assassins (the ones that attack you on the road)

Practical Pirate - The same

Silver Armor - Replaces all Ebony Armor. This one may be overkill, but the Ebony Armor doesn't look too great anyway outside of VAR so I dunno.

Fair enough, I have THICC too and I was using ASS but my notes say it's no longer needed with an Aura's Inventory Tweak update recently (my notes don't say why), I agree about the naming but I like the icons in my inventory!
I've been running Aura's Inventory Tweak for a couple of months now, that is well worth a look ?

Ebony Armor: I agree that the vanilla Ebony is not that great. I have been using Fitted Ebony Armor (as stand alone) and for replacer: Ebony Armor Type 2 - Darker Cube Version (with Ebony Armor Type 2 - CBBE Bodyslide). Then these awesome textures - Ebony Armors and Weapons Retexture SE.

@trgdolors

Don't worry. Often enough i go back some pages to reread stuff... ?

@wollboi

Well, i prefer to play it safe when it comes to mods and i'd rather remove mods than have issues later on. It was working for the first runs but sometimes vanilla armors still popped up on some guards, then they were sometimes nude, and lastly they were only floating heads and armors. Reinstalling the mods or starting a new game didn't help at all.

After removing the replacer everything works. I went through all cities and villages and all were fine (not a single vanilla guard armor anymore). Plus now they look imo better than before.

I'll take a look at the SPID files. Although i might delete the 'League of Asassins' armor. The more i see it the more i think it is not the right one for Skyrim. The newer one for the brotherhood on the other hand fits better.

@markvarley

We'll see. Atm i want to stick with reworking the armors.

'Asura's Guard' is great. Finally managed to craft some pieces which look awesome (i need more ebony!). And i really like the modularity.

Getting rid of the glowing Dawnguard weapons was the right choice. Now they look like they mean business.
