lunacy05 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) When venturing into Lost Knife Hideout and entering the second half of the cavern, i would experience CTD and true light - shadows and ambient.esp from True Light in the Shaders section, is the cause of it. It happens when my character is near to a room where 3-4 NPC Bandits are occupying in the same area and when engaging in combat, a CTD would occurred when the shadow limit is taxed out, causing the CTD. This also happens in the last area, where there's 5 npc Bandits, a Sabre Cat and a bandit leader is in the same area. This CTD also occurs in outdoors, when engaging combat with more than 3-4 NPCs at the same time, but doesn't happened as nearly often compare to Lost Knife Hideout dungeon. When NPC Bandits engage in sex in Lost Knife Hideout, it also cause a CTD due to the shadow limit. Outside of the dungeon, OStim causes CTD if NPCs decided to use the bed, this includes the player character as well. Solution that i have found out, is to downgrade Community Shaders to 1.1.15 and use Light Limit Fix, though the latest update was in August 2025. Downgrading Community Shadows would result 1400 plus shadows unable to register. Most Nexus users claim that the Light Limit Fix mod doesn't work, one Nexus user claim to work for him. I would like to suggest the Keep Up - Follower Locomotion Fix mod. By default, the followers would occasionally stop in their tracks and won't follower the player character, unless you go back to the follower to "reset" the follower's AI to follow you again. This mod help to fix this issue and i have been testing the mod for a couple weeks, until the latest version of 4.2 which was recently updated. I'm quite satisfied by this mod, it might not be 100% perfect, perhaps about 80-90% that the mod work well, and i don't find any issues with this mod. Edited 5 hours ago by lunacy05
lunacy05 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) I find that dismembering bandits would cause CTD quite often with the Dismembering Framework (located in the Gameplay - Foundation section). But i found a mod called the Next-Gen Decapitations that would fix the CTD issues. I tried loading a save right before encountering some bandits to decapitate them, and so far, no CTD yet. So i load multiple times, killing the bandits about a dozen times and still did not encounter any CTDs. I will continue to do further testing on this mod but it seems to work well.
