Papyrus should always win all conflicts.

Completely down atm. Feel like having been stomped by a giant (and he came back several times to make sure I stay down).

Hopefully you are not forced into a cup and a street corner situation.

Does anyone know how to install SexLab Tools? I have UI Extensions. The instructions are as follow:

Quote

MAKE SURE TO UNCHECK UI EXTENSIONS in Wyre bash or SSEDIT as it conflicts and will cause CTD

To make it work together

Disable the ESP in wyre bash or SSEDIT etc

I'm a Skyrim modding newbie and those word sounds like gibberish to me. Haven't found anything online yet on how to install SexLab Tools. Should I just disable the esp in the plugins list or what do they want me to do? TwT

Can anyone provide me some ideas on how to tackle the mismatch in snow colors on the rocks and the terrain with minimal intervention?

Nevermind. the PBR textures of the snowy rocks was the issue. basically had to replace them to match the terrain snow color.

I don't know if it IMMORTAN or something else that hits NPCs, but both Hroki and Lizbet in Markarth have black faces (heads) and Lizbet is bald.

On another subject, my 4 year old laptop is having major USB issues (only one of the 4 ports works reliably) so I've ordered a much more powerful laptop scheduled to arrive early next week. Since my PC is now at level 40 I might try to keep playing, but will probably redo my load list and start a new game.

On a third subject, I hope @Aylis gets well soon.

Sorry, is there a way to prevent House Cats from Mihail to pursuing woman? I cant find a option to disable cats on aroused creatures MCM and they are really eager to get some girls🤣

I resorted to using Face Discoloration Fix for fixing the NPC faces I had issues with;

Thanks, that does fix the black face problem. Lizbet is still bald, and Hroki barely has any hair though. I wonder if IMMORTAN (or whatever else is affecting them) intended that?

Anybody having issues with getting the Crashlogger to generate crash logs?  I've tried checking the the default folder and even putting them in a MO2 folder, but it doesn't seem to be working.

That's because that mod doesn't really fix anything, it just reverts the face colour to white. The underlying issue is still there, the face data is still incorrect. That mod does more harm than good, because it makes people who don't know better think it's fixed, while it really is not.

tl;dr:

DO NOT EVER USE THIS MOD BECAUSE IT DOES NOT REALLY FIX ANYTHING.

In order to not have a black face, both the mesh and the plugin order have to match, i.e. if another mod overwrites the NPC meshes, make sure the plugin from the same overwriting mod is given priority as well. LOOT does not do it automatically, you often have to set the rules manually.

It is absolutely necessary to check the NPC in xEdit to see if any other mod overwrites their records. Sometimes a mod you never suspect will have that NPC as well and it will lead to black face.

Examples:

Skooma Whore has a vanilla Angeline from Angeline's Aromatics, TDF Prostitution has Hulda and a bunch of other innkeepers. Both mods add some face tint to them for whatever reason, but otherwise the record is a copy of vanilla. If the plugin from either is loaded after your NPC replacer it will cause black face in the best case scenario and outright CTD in the worst one. Why? Because the plugin points to a vanilla mesh that was overwritten by the overhaul and both do not match anymore.

To fix it, you have to either make sure that the overhaul plugin loads after the offending mod's plugin, or forward the NPC record from the overhaul to a patch. Merge, if necessary, but not blindly (read: do not use Bashed Patch merge, because it cobbles everything together when it should absolutely not do that). You need to know what to merge, and what to forward, but that is out of scope for this explanation.

I recommend running this script on your load order in xEdit. It will identify all NPC's that potentially have the issue and will point to a likely cause. It will not fix the issue for you, but it will tell you which NPCs are affected, so you can fix it by yourself.

Thanks. I would also note that IMMORTAN has had a number of updates since I downloaded it, fixing various mesh problems among other things.

Fortunately or unfortunately, I'm trying to get set up on a new laptop, fighting Windows 11 every step of the way, and it will be some time before I can run xEdit or even run the game.

I have my new laptop set up and copied over my Skyrim files. I've now got a GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU with 24G VRAM as opposed to 8G on my old laptop.

At Skulvar's Farm next to the carriage driver in Whiterun, I now get 55-60 FPS instead of below 20 FPS like I used to.

Unfortunately, when trying to use my old save I find that for some reason Vigilant Tyranus in Markarth attacks me on sight. My PC is a daedra worshiper via the Gods & Worship mod, but that mod description says that this shouldn't be happening. When I get back from my next trip (starts tomorrow) I'll probably rebuild my whole mod list and start a new game.

I've actually used that, and honestly, it's very good, but needed to go back to the older version as I had a few dependencies on "Fixes and Tweaks", "Adventures", and "Effects".   IF you don't use those, the new one, as I mentioned, is quite good, but if you need the other mods or want their effects for any reason, for now, you might want to stay with the older one.
