PubliusNV Posted November 30, 2025 Posted November 30, 2025 I don't know if it IMMORTAN or something else that hits NPCs, but both Hroki and Lizbet in Markarth have black faces (heads) and Lizbet is bald.  On another subject, my 4 year old laptop is having major USB issues (only one of the 4 ports works reliably) so I've ordered a much more powerful laptop scheduled to arrive early next week. Since my PC is now at level 40 I might try to keep playing, but will probably redo my load list and start a new game.  On a third subject, I hope @Aylis gets well soon.Â

Lizbet is still bald, and Hroki barely has any hair though. I wonder if IMMORTAN (or whatever else is affecting them) intended that?
weeb_piglet Posted December 5, 2025 Posted December 5, 2025 Anybody having issues with getting the Crashlogger to generate crash logs? I've tried checking the the default folder and even putting them in a MO2 folder, but it doesn't seem to be working.

Lizbet is still bald, and Hroki barely has any hair though That's because that mod doesn't really fix anything, it just reverts the face colour to white. The underlying issue is still there, the face data is still incorrect. That mod does more harm than good, because it makes people who don't know better think it's fixed, while it really is not. Â tl;dr: DO NOT EVER USE THIS MOD BECAUSE IT DOES NOT REALLY FIX ANYTHING. Â In order to not have a black face, both the mesh and the plugin order have to match, i.e. if another mod overwrites the NPC meshes, make sure the plugin from the same overwriting mod is given priority as well. LOOT does not do it automatically, you often have to set the rules manually. Â It is absolutely necessary to check the NPC in xEdit to see if any other mod overwrites their records. Sometimes a mod you never suspect will have that NPC as well and it will lead to black face. Examples: Skooma Whore has a vanilla Angeline from Angeline's Aromatics, TDF Prostitution has Hulda and a bunch of other innkeepers. Both mods add some face tint to them for whatever reason, but otherwise the record is a copy of vanilla. If the plugin from either is loaded after your NPC replacer it will cause black face in the best case scenario and outright CTD in the worst one. Why? Because the plugin points to a vanilla mesh that was overwritten by the overhaul and both do not match anymore. Â To fix it, you have to either make sure that the overhaul plugin loads after the offending mod's plugin, or forward the NPC record from the overhaul to a patch. Merge, if necessary, but not blindly (read: do not use Bashed Patch merge, because it cobbles everything together when it should absolutely not do that). You need to know what to merge, and what to forward, but that is out of scope for this explanation. Â I recommend running this script on your load order in xEdit. It will identify all NPC's that potentially have the issue and will point to a likely cause. It will not fix the issue for you, but it will tell you which NPCs are affected, so you can fix it by yourself. Edited December 5, 2025 by belegost 1
PubliusNV Posted December 5, 2025 Posted December 5, 2025 Thanks. I would also note that IMMORTAN has had a number of updates since I downloaded it, fixing various mesh problems among other things.  Fortunately or unfortunately, I'm trying to get set up on a new laptop, fighting Windows 11 every step of the way, and it will be some time before I can run xEdit or even run the game.

PubliusNV Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 I have my new laptop set up and copied over my Skyrim files. I've now got a GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU with 24G VRAM as opposed to 8G on my old laptop.  At Skulvar's Farm next to the carriage driver in Whiterun, I now get 55-60 FPS instead of below 20 FPS like I used to.  Unfortunately, when trying to use my old save I find that for some reason Vigilant Tyranus in Markarth attacks me on sight. My PC is a daedra worshiper via the Gods & Worship mod, but that mod description says that this shouldn't be happening. When I get back from my next trip (starts tomorrow) I'll probably rebuild my whole mod list and start a new game. 1
zakiera77 Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 Hey i suggest you check out this version of Fertility Mode https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/165569. Its supposed a Remake of the OG Mod but redefined and more content with the help of alot of modders. i figured if you like it, you could add it to your Mod List. Have an awesome day!
Kamikatana Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 I've actually used that, and honestly, it's very good, but needed to go back to the older version as I had a few dependencies on "Fixes and Tweaks", "Adventures", and "Effects".  IF you don't use those, the new one, as I mentioned, is quite good, but if you need the other mods or want their effects for any reason, for now, you might want to stay with the older one. 1
guangxitufei Posted December 13, 2025 Posted December 13, 2025 According to the description on the "Landscape Fixes For Grass Mods" page: "Load this mod after Verdant, Folkvanger, or other grass mods unless otherwise instructed. (Generally, it is best to manually move grass mods above this mod if LOOT has no rules for new grass mods and places them very low in your load order.)", should I place it after Freak's Floral Fields esp? By the way, is it feasible to use LOOT to categorize the esp mods on the right side based on the mod separators on the left side of MO2, and then sort them accordingly? Or is it better to sort them according to the installation order?

One mistake I would make is highlighting multiple mods at once and activating them all together. Mod Organizer sorts those mods on its own, I couldn't figure out why my load order was so far off from Aylis's. Used MO2 for years and never knew that it did that, so when I rebuild a mod list I install the mods in order then activate them one at a time in order and the load order ends up being the same as it is in the guide. Â Not sure if that's what you're running into but it threw me off for a while.

Because I don't use some mods, and some new mods have been added, and I'm a beginner and not very familiar with using SSEEdit to view ESP information, I'm wondering if it would be better to categorize them and then use the LOOT tool to sort the LOOTs within the categories. Also, when I checked the suggested LOOT order for Nexus mods, I found it was different from the installation order in the list. For example, "Landscape Fixes For Grass Mods should be placed after Grass Mods, and FormList-Patch-Collection_ITMs should be placed at the end."

LOOT only sorts plugins and only if those plugins are included in LOOT's masterlist. LOOT will not sort meshes or textures, because those are not plugins. These have to be done manually.  For reference: plugin order =/= mod order. Those are two different things, but both have to be sorted correctly. LOOT will not do the latter at all, that is something you have to do in your mod manager. Plugin is the .esp/esl/esm file. "Mod" in this instance is every other file contained within the archive. Meshes, textures, scripts, sound files, animations, etc. In MO2 it is the overwrite order. In Vortex it is Deploy order. Edited December 13, 2025 by belegost 1

FallFall Posted December 25, 2025 Posted December 25, 2025 The list seems to be missing a few mods and 2 mesh mods for bowls and chests that aren't available. The big ones are ENB, FNIS, SL Animation loader or nemesis. They are being used judging b the SL animations or normal animations and ENB related mods but the bases are no where to be found? Do we no longer need ENB to use the mods that need it? Does SL just load the animations now and animations are aaaaaa compiled* on their own?
