Yes, but you could probably add the data folder stuff as a mod in mo2, but that could potentially cause issues with the actual enb preset you are using.  Your best bet is see what install instructions for the enb are back on the first page of this topic are.

When it comes to the enb installation. Really the only two files you should need are the two dll files. The ENB preset you choose will provide the rest of the needed files.

Re: the spreadsheet:

markvarley provided one a while ago (I found and linked their comment from this thread, Nov 14, 2023). I don't know if they are currently here, but that was really interesting. PLEASE don't use 'ggL' like they did, tho. I, too, use and like LibreOffice, but I suck at spreadsheets.

Off the top of my head...

Some Good:

-I love the idea of tracking history/changes to the guide. I am often trying to remember if and why a mod was being used and then dropped. That info is some of the most helpful that you create.

-It could have a built in way to track/document our own changes/notes?

-We would not have to spend 60 seconds expanding all the guide's subgroups every time we open our browser to look at the list to do control-F searches.

Some Bad:

-Web searches would not pick up the data.

-We would have to keep another big program open in RAM.

-Some of us would have to learn another tool. I like the simplicity of control-F for searching.

So I have mixed feelings, but we need to make this more sustainable for you. If this makes it significantly easier, you should probably do it.

Atm my workflow is this:

Check for new mods that might be useful.

Download and test them as much as possible.

Then the 'fun' starts:

Use MO2 to check for the mods not in the guide (aka the ones I havn't endorsed yet).

Open the mod site and copy the required infos into the post for the update.

Copy the data from the update post into the guide.

Rinse and repeat 'til I am finished.

Lastly updating post #1.

In other words I have to constantly jump from one Software/Website/Post to the next. This takes quite some time (aka hours) and it is way too easy to make an error. Another point is that I'm starting to have trouble when I make an update. The guide got way to big (all spoilers are open) to handle it with the small window available for editing. Sometimes it feels more like endless scrolling than actually making the needed changes...

With the spreadsheet it would go like this:

Make changes to the spreadsheet.

Compress the sheet into a 7Zip.

Upload the file.

Post about the update.

Change post #1.

This can be done in a few minutes instead of using up half of the day.

One way or the other, something has to change as the current form of the guide (which worked fine in the beginning) is simply too hard to maintain and, i guess, not that easy for you too.

Ok, first official release for the Sims 4. The spreadsheet for Skyrim would then look like one of the files here (with some small required changes of course).

Maybe if/when you try the spreadsheet, leave up the first post old version up for at least a while.

Looking at the spreadsheet in Libre Office, the search function is not that satisfying. Maybe I am doing it wrong. Does anyone know if there is a way to mod Libre Office to have better search?

Here's a slightly modified version of your sims document.

Just some quick suggestions, I don't have sims, so I didn't really work with the document.

* Added Info table, moved color coding into it

* Added some tips for the group feature (if you are using LibreOffice)

All changes below are to the Sims 4 (SFW) table:

* Pinned the first row.

* Made section texts a bit larger, and removed mod, link, note, cause unneeded now.

* Use groups to collapse sections

* Add a fake instruction over multiple rows, and used groups to collapse them.

I don't have excel, but a quick search suggests excel has a similar group feature, so it should be compatible.

Hello,

I have 2 "problems" in the game

I can't import facial expressions or save self-edited ones in SLP+. I can select and edit "Joy" but as soon as I leave the menu or go into the game it switches back to "Afraid" and everything is standard. If I modify the Afraid expression, it stays saved but only until I quit the game. If I restart Skyrim, it goes back to Afraid and everything is standard. My question is: How do I import OR edit the expressions with a save?

The other problem is that I don't have any pubic hair. Everything only seems to work with SOS.

Are there any alternatives?

Then , start posting using intelligence . Is this the Skyrim SE/AE guide , or the Sim guide ? And since you also had the bright idea of quoting , I think you defect with the ability to reason. You only had to click on the quoted link , to post correctly

@Domsen88

1. No idea, I havn't used that function yet.

2. Did you select a pubic hair during the characcter creation?

@Dorabella

Don't forget that this talk about the Sims will have an impact on this guide here. In the end are the Sims a testrun to see how i can switch to a spreadsheet for all other guides i have written (or will publish).

@Arkerthan

Thanks. And it did happen what i tried to avoid by using no scripts.

Looks like your file doesn't like my newly updated Open Office. Or is it the other way around? 🤔

Maybe i should take a look at PDF. That one is universal and should work everywhere.

All the more reason to keep various things in order  😁 . Although this is an experimental guide, if , there is a need for counseling, you will tend to look for it where you expect to find it

Quick question:

I see in the Guide under UI that there is Modern Wait Menu, then a little later there is NORDIC UI - Configurable Sleep Wait Menu. I am not following an exact version of this guide. I am also not using Nordic UI.

Are both those menus working in this build? I though you could only have one or the other? I love the user interface of the Modern version, but want the option to wait for days at a time. Is this a Nordic UI thing or am I missing something?

Thanks!

@Dorabella

Careful. You're getting on very thin ice here.

First of all, something like, and I'm quoting you, 'start posting using intelligence' and 'I think you defect with the ability to reason' is something I don't want to see in my threads! You might disagree and voice it, but never ever in this form!

Secondly, I, and definitely not you, decide what is allowed in my threads. If something gets too overboard then I will stop it myself.

Third, so far people have always been helping each other in my threads (which is exactly what i want to see). Remind me, what was your kind of assistance to others in this thread so far?

Fourth, I'm the last person not trying to help others (otherwise my threads wouldn't even exist). But don't test my temper!

The first one is for the function, the second one for the look. And, yes, i use both at the same time. Although i don't remember having to set up something.

I really wouldn't use OpenOffice anymore, 4.1 is from 2014(!), since then it's just been bugfixes. While LibreOffice is being actively developed.

That said, I'm not telling you what office suite to use, so I got OpenOffice to test this myself.

1. OpenOffice doesn't like anything LibreOffice saves, an empty file is enough to trigger this warning.

2. However, you can simply choose Later, and it'll open the file just fine. I tested the file I uploaded above and couldn't find any difference in behaviour.

PDF:

While it's probably easy to generate from your side, from a usability perspective it's pretty bad:

1. Regular forced page breaks, cause PDFs are page based.

2. No way to collapse content (You could maybe work with hyperlinks and a ToC, but at that point any time savings on your side are gone)

Thanks again. 😊

I didn't knew that... And i was wondering why they kept the old 2000ish look. Open Office was always one of my first to-go-to programs after a new installation. And with the updates i thought they were still working on it. Oh well, looks like i'll have to take a closer look at Libre Office then.

I guess the proverbial 'don't fix what isn't broken' doesn't apply to office software. 😁

Yep, 'F12' works and will be the first thing i'll test when it comes to the guide. Then i can hide the instructions for mods.

But now i have to get ready for the sylvester party. Thorsten will pick me up later and we'll go to 'our' party-spot at the Rhine. Lets see how many of my friends will show up (and hopefully we got enough beer and mead this time).

Grilling on an open fire, having friends around, something to drink (the mead is mine!), and watching the fireworks over the city. Thats how you end the year.

I wish you all a 'Happy new year'! And health and good fortune to whatever you aspire to.

I'll be back next year.

Hmmm, is it me or did this sound awfully long?

Heya!

As with the previous step by step guide by Aylis, this one was long and arduous journey but extremely satisfying and enjoyable and worth every minute spent. Every category finished was a miniature dopamine hit. More importantly, I now have a smooth af and gorgeous Skyrim to explore for the 895226th time! The grass cache can go burn in a fire though, god are LODs hard to make for an untrained chimp like me 🤪 (still hella worth it though)

Anyway, I've noticed that all the people (PC and NPCs) have very bright, almost glowing eyes, especially during the day or when it's bright (I've appended a screenshot). Come to think of it, the metal ingots are the same. Iron ingots look like they're glowing white in the daylight. I know it's not a bug, but does anyone know what's causing this? Should I change an ENB setting somewhere somehow?

Don't know what's up but "Enhanced Solitude SSE" appears to be crashing the game (CTD) before I even get to the menu.  I have downloaded it again and reinstalled it twice more.  The game can't get to the basic stating menu.  Has anyone seen this?  Any new updates I should have noticed?

Everything, but a few parallax textures/meshes that are not rendering, is working prior to this.  I was told later patches would fix my rendering issue.

I seem to be having a difficult time with this load like no other I've delt with.

Fantastic, thank you Arkerthan for the speedy response!

Unfortunately, I appear to have come across another issue. My character's body's skin becomes very glossy (as if sweaty, there is a beads of sweat texture to it) whenever I equip any armor and sometimes even without doing so (perhaps upon changing cells). The appendages (hands/feet) remain non-glossy.

Searching online I have tried to edit my racemenu preset to replace missing textures but that wasn't the problem, there weren't any missing textures. I have tried setting the 2 glossiness attibutes of femalebody_0/1.nif to 0, I have tried changing skin texture mods, nothing has worked. Opening the racemenu clears the issue, though only temporarily.

I also read about old racemenu presets sometimes being wonky, and I tried making a new character without ever loading any other preset. However, it doesn't appear to have done the trick. Is the issue for this too old racemenu presets or am I way off on how to fix this? It feels like I've tried everything I can think of.

If it crashes before the menue then you're missing a required mod.

You were right!  I reinstalled the "LUX (patch hub)", which in turn installed a LUX patch for "Enhanced Solitude SSE".  I had been looking for a possible missing mod that was loaded before "Enhanced Solitude SSE"; of course there was no such thing.

Why can't the last place we look for a solution be first to mind, LOL?

A thought on sharing spreadsheets:  Export a comma delimited (CSV) file for downloads.  Not sure how links would work in the file though.   Almost any spreadsheet program can import it.  You can also keep a few versions for downloading.  It won't matter what you use to display the list; we'll always get a usable file.

While CSV files are great for compatibility, as you've pointed out, they are very minimal.  The export will only contain the basic cell values from the spreadsheet. Aylis has been using text colours, background colours, links, styling, etc in the Sims 4 version to categorise/group mods and make the process easy to follow. Unfortunately, exporting as a CSV while compatible with many programs, would drop all of this styling and render just black and white columns of text.

While loading mods under "World - Locations [Exterior Cities]" I got a missing master's error from "Natural Waterfalls - Markarth Mossy AF - Patched".

Took a while but I finally found "Natural Waterfalls" where you're loading it under Patches.

I recommend "Natural Waterfalls - Markarth Mossy AF - Patched" be moved below "Natural Waterfalls" in Patches.
