( *scream* ) - well, that didn't take long at all - The problem's back, same crashlog.  Removed replacers, bashed patch,  animations, and other new installs one at a time and still crashing when changing to Facepart 3 for HPH.  Can't get into Vector-plexus due to some issue on their end or I'd reinstall HPH.  Anyone else have suggestions?


Unfortunately not, I never got it fixed. 

I'd suggest testing by changing your character's facepart in racemenu to facepart 5 - if you get a CTD - the problem still exists. This way you don't have to play until you encounter an npc with the HPH facepart to see if it still crashes.

I instead uninstalled High Poly Head and it's reliant mods, and used Botox for Skyrim (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/20967) instead. 

There are addons for Botox - for various mods - check required files to see if you can find one for mods you're using.

Well, it just gets stranger. Tried @Varithina's suggestion, thanks to you both, though it didn't work for me.  Still can't get past Facepart 3 for female characters.  I did find a crashlog reader, you probably know about it but it might help someone else (just not me): Skyrim Crash Decoder It's a bot that takes Crashlogger logs and tries to make sense out of them.

After some winnowing it says I'm getting a FaceGen error, but I still haven't been able to pin it down.

 

What's strange though, and may be the real problem, is that when the game crashes, something removes the three Engine Fixes Part 2 files from SSE's root folder!  Disabling AV doesn't stop it.  Pretty tired right now but it seems like there was some mod in the list that might do this?  I did make the mistake of verifying files a while back but this is ongoing behavior.  I've read that HPH depends on Engine Fixes.

Not giving up yet.

 

EDIT:  One other oddity I'm seeing:  When doing the usual call for skse64_loader.exe from MO2, I occasionally see it trigger the screen from SkyrimSELauncher.exe,  If I exit and re-click SKSE, it usually behaves correctly.  No idea what's going on there, may be an MO2.5 bug, just throwin it out.

SSE Engine Fixes has something wrong with it. That might be your culprit. I forget exactly what I did to resolve the issue, but it was fairly recent, so I'll come back and edit with my solution.

Bare in mind, I've not encountered the exact same issue you're reporting here, with the HPH stuff. But you're mentioning the Engine fixes files rang a bell for me.

 

EDIT: I found a quick mod on the Nexus that helped resolve the Engine Fixes issue.

It's literally just a .toml file that makes the mod actually work properly.

Appreciate the suggestion @Mister_Discrete, but I think I've finally solved the problems, and part of it was, again, not following the guide closely.

I'll list the solutionss here in case anyone else is as careless as me:

1 - As the guide states, HPH needs to be reinstalled later in the order to include Vampire Head Fix.  I couldn't do this because I no longer had the file and the Vectorplexus website login has been borked for at least a week.

2 - Another mod [Remiel Makeover (HighPoly), NxsID: 77442] was also crashing High Poly Head - avoid it.

3 - It's possible to access Vectorplexus files through links on their Discord server.

4 - Finally able to clear character creation again!

5 - Rustier than I thought...

I'm currently playtesting after installing the physics and animations section of the list and I ran into several problems so far:

  1. The game crashes when pressing ESC.
  2. During the Intro sequence all alive male NPCs are invisible, after Alduin attacks most of them become visible except the imperials (I built all the meshes in BodySlide).
  3. Mountain textures don't load properly. Could this be because I haven't run DynDOLOD yet?
  4. At some point the game sound just said goodbye.

I attached the crash logs to provide more information.

@PlayingOneHanded Crash log indicates USSEP is the culprit, but that's probably not the case. It's probably that something is interfering with it. The best thing to do is going to be disabling your entire mod list, loading one section/group at a time and seeing if you have the error. Do that until you identify which section is giving you the problem, then start enabling/disabling mods one at a time to see which one makes the problem go away and that's going to be your culprit. With regards to the issues.

1 - May be SkyUI if you're on Skyrim version 1.6.1130+. Doing the above method would help you figure that out though.

2 - Never heard of this. Bodyslide wouldn't have anything to do with this, as it just edits existing mesh shapes.

3 - Are the textures purple or blue? If so, it's missing a texture. Check in MO2 for conflicts (double click the mod and look in the Conflict tab). Could also be something didn't download correctly. Wouldn't have anything to do with DynDOLOD.

 

If you have a lot of deviations from the guide, please post your mod list. That may help someone spot a likely issue.

It's really strange. I can hit them, hear their voices (given the game sound is working) and loot them. If I take their armor their bodies reappear.

The textures aren't missing (not purple blueish) but extremely blurry like they haven't been properly loaded yet.

Does anyone have a copy of Highpoly Head, vectorplexis seems to be down, I can't enter, I found another HPH in another website, but is 5 times smaller in size so I don't know if it's good.

Seeing as this is 125 pages long, and I'm already old, with no time to sift through the entire thread.......forgive me if this has been already asked, and answered.

But I see that this mod list uses both Imperious Races, and Evolution - Skyrim Races. Don't these mods conflict? Seeing as Evolution is added later in the order, I'm assuming you want it to overwrite Imperious, but why? Is there some functionality of Imperious that bleeds through the overwrite?

Where do you see Imperious Races in the list? I don't see it anywhere...

Good-gravy, you're right!

Why in the heck do I have Imperious at all then? I guess when I was getting into a groove I fell down a rabbit hole and ended up DLing it without thinking.

Nope. I do that quest fairly regularly, and it's always open.

Has anyone ran into an issue with Aela's werewolf form being invisible during the Companion's quest when you become a werewolf? It's an issue with NITHI that I've finally figured out how to fix (with my ability to read page 2 of the Nexus posts).

When you have figured out which category is giving you problems you do not start with disabling one mod at a time.

You disable half of the mods in the category. Then check and react accordingly. If it still crashes you disable half of the remaining mods and check again. If it doesn't crash you disable the mods you left on and then turn back on the mods you disabled the last time. Rinse & repeat until you nailed the sucker.

That way you should be able to track down what mod exactly crashes your loadorder much faster.

What I have seen - If you are referring to the section of the cave with the Boethiah champion and his bandit buddies, that cave area is always blocked unless you get the quest from Boethiah to kill her old champion.  Have to kill your follower on the pillar and then get the quest from Boethiah.  Before that, you should be able to go into the cave anytime a short way without the Boethiah quest. A  Bandit boss usually there for other fetch quests or similar but the larger interior won't be accessible.

If interested, I have been reading the old Ostim comments from Guest.  I decided to try Ostim.  The latest Ostim has a unique configuration for Improved Camera.  I was thinking first person sex basically.  I can tell you that being in first person when I am giving oral to a male or female is something special with Ostim.  I prefer F/F but the M/F in any orientation was immersive as well.  In case anyone is still thinking Ostim.  I think Guest suggested 3rd person for Ostim a few months ago.  Just sharing what I experienced.

So ,i ve been given the killing the champions quest by boethia.

I think the quest is bugged , i ve tryed with different characters; when i killed the bandit in the cave the arrow is still there, witch means  the game didn t record his death...

I think i already have that on a the skyrim se version of the beguiner guide , i can t remember how i solve it but i did....

Sorry to hear it has bugged on you.  If it happened to me, I would find a way to ensure I interacted by dialogue with the champion before killing him.  Or make sure the champion aggro on my PC specifically if you are noticed killing the other bandits.  Sneak killing the champion has bugged on me but it has been a while.  Only thing I can think of.  I'm on 1.6.640 and use MO2.  When I used Vortex I encountered many of these types of bugs as the game files were getting modified.

@lokkii It may also be a problem with the Dunmeri Outfits for Dunmer mod. Since the final enemy in that quest is a Dunmer, it gives him clothing from Morrowind instead of the Ebony Mail that you are supposed to get to complete the quest. It's been brought up on Nexus and acknowledged by the mod author but never fixed. You can fix it by killing him, spawning the Ebony Mail via the console, then dropping it and picking it up again.
