I stared at that option just this morning as I reinstalled XPSME and saw the 'minimum' and 'basic' options for the first time, realizing what they were after reading the mod page and wondering (because the minimum option has no requirements at all). I just couldn't bring myself to be incapable of switching weapons around and so chose (for the moment) to continue fighting against Papyrus spam. If there is some OAR mod that allows me to change this instead, I'm ready to pounce on it, just point me in the right direction! EDIT: For papyrus spam - try this. won't fix everything but made it easier on my game. I have not read recent comments but an animation creator told me to use it. Just a quick note. I read the bug section of the mod page very quickly. I have not had any of the issues they described. XPMSSSE does reset sometimes. equip and unequip to fix. In the beginning of a new game, MCM recorder auto inputs my settings but I have to redo after completing my MCM settings. Sometimes it just doesn't work. Glitches for me: improper animations (pull sword from hip when equipped on back), Not responding to re-holstering (click and nothing happens. Delay, hit again, delay and it catches up. equip, unequip, equip. Then I can holster. Not often at all but happens. Out for a while. Makeup and hair for the afternoon and then work. Yes, this exactly! I never went for IED because it just shows every weapon, not to mention other things like pickaxes, torches, etc. It looks completely silly and though it may be unrealistic, I generally only want my actual equipped weapon to show and if I'm not using a bow, I don't want arrows! If it has options to control this and isn't too finicky I suppose IED could work, especially if it relieves some Papyrus spam! 27 minutes ago, Miss Tee said: EDIT: For papyrus spam - try this. won't fix everything but made it easier on my game. My tactic has generally been to turn off the NPC cloak because I don't really care if they have different weapon styles... I only care about me. 😏 HOWEVER this is a great alternative and yet another thing to throw on the ol' testing pile.

I will quit playing Skryim if they are not in my game. I do love the small additions some bring but I reduce the load on my game as much as possible and it seems to work. I love the Pregnancy mod. ( I tease the guys on discord it's the only way it will happen for me) but it reaches out too much and constantly so I dropped it. If you want to try an alternative pregnancy mod, you can try Hentai Pregnancy here on LL. Designed as a lighter and simpler preg/inflation style mod. Might be worth taking a look.

HOLY HECK IT WORKS. I jumped the gun a bit and installed the mods, and though there's a bit of a learning curve on how to setup the weapon, I switched the sword to be on my back and the animation changes and everything! One change I did make was to install XPMSSE Extended then XPMSE Light which gets rid of the scripts but still works with SOS. After that I installed IED and then all the other mods mentioned and IT WORKS. BUT THERE'S MORE. After I got the sword working, I tried putting a torch on and then favoriting it. Of course the darned thing showed up on my hip which I don't want, but then I just opened the menu, clicked a lil box called 'disable' and the torch was gone! I could still equip it and it would show up in my hand, but not on my body when I'm not using it. I can't believe I've never tried this. Edited March 1, 2024 by Ashra XIII 1

In any case, when I opened the menu for IED (Backspace) I was so confused for a while and then I went looking up tutorials... good gravy I was THIS CLOSE to just putting my head on the desk and giving up because I couldn't get the sword to go to my back when it was equipped and all the tutorials talked about having to manually set all these numbers to get it to move around and be in the correct place. Turns out they were talking about other stuff like potions, as weapons just have to be selected in two different menus and then they are done! My next worry was of course that if I equipped a different sword I'd have to set it again but nope! The setting stuck. With the weekend coming up I will hopefully get to try it a bit more, but already I can tell that my Papyrus logs are gloriously free of XPMSSE spam and have more room for the copious amounts of Sexlab spam (only during animations) as well as everything else. This is such a good sign!

Guest Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 GENERAL Mod Suggestion: Walk/Run Speed I noticed when first loading Aylis mod list that the infuriatingly slow walk speed of the player was not addressed. If anyone cares about being able to walk in game realistically, here is what I use and it is fantastic. I mentioned that I like to walk around amongst the grass and trees. This mod makes it actually possible to walk as part of your normal playthrough. I hated having to run/stop/run/stop to keep up with an NPC or to move around a city. NOTE: Some mods will modify the walk/run/sprint speed. You will need to look in xEdit if you think that is happening. I've only found one mod so far that does this - Blade and Blunt. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/50173

As Ashra commented, the basic animations included with Sexlab are simply garbage compared to what is available. All they do is take up space and if you are trying to select a different animation during an event, they bloat the list of options and you waste time trying to find a better choice. My main reason for removing them initially was to save space on my PC and Allow more space in FNIS for animations I wanted to use. I believe Sexlab P+ has a built in feature to disable these included animations but I could never get P+ to work with creatures so I stopped using it. There are experienced modders here that can give you the best advice on P+. I'm not that person and prefer not to load mods still being tested. Good luck.

Guest Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 OSTIM MOD NEWS: (yes, another post already) OSTIM ON DEMAND - This mod is somewhat specific and I think it will add to your game if you want an approach for intimacy or similar activity. Ostim On Demand approach system is for Inns and player homes. At homes it's restricted to npcs with relationship rank 4. There is also a dialogue based blacklist ability for you to use. (information from user) In essence, it is restricted to realistic settings for intimate encounters. Options appear to be varied from talking, kissing, and of course...sex. The concern is only with mods like SL Approach which will also trigger an approach in an Inn. Or in my case if I am the Public Whore at the time. Gets very busy at times in an Inn. (fun) Will be some overlap. You should find the dialogue from Ostim on Demand is much better, more realistic and more options and make it a more realistic encounter. More like a conversation than a simple question. I heard the comment it was dialogue heavy as mentioned previously. I will be adding it to my game tonight now that I know more of the restrictions on approaches and restrict SL Approach locations to reduce overlap. The in-home approach from my lover will be really immersive I think. SLSF Comments or Eager NPCs (can't recall) did have that "now that we are home, want to explore me?" comment from your follower/lover with an option to engage. This should add more to it than the standard one liner. OH, I have to get a home now. (rarely bother). Oh well.

T I haven't really bothered personally with trying to display things like potions and other hotkey-able items because I really don't care about them, but the weapons are super-easy and just take a few clicks... the only confusing part was that there are two different menus, one for position on your body normally, and the other for when the weapon is actually equipped; both have to be set and you gotta make sure they are set for 'female' (assuming your char is female) or else the mod ignores what you set. So right now I have a sword on my back which is there all the time since it's favorited, and looks kinda cool when I swap from magic to blade as it's there, ready to go, and my character reaches up and draws it in the middle of a fight. I also had a staff for a bit but didn't want it showing all the time, so set it to 'invisible' so it never showed up until I equipped it. IED is really seeming like the ideal solution here, but I suppose there is still time for me to run into something that just kills it for me. 😬 3 hours ago, Miss Tee said: GENERAL Mod Suggestion: Walk/Run Speed I noticed when first loading Aylis mod list that the infuriatingly slow walk speed of the player was not addressed. Apparently there are some mods or functions that may try to reference them, and the remover mods can cause an issue with that. It was recommended that instead of the remover mods, you just disable them directly in the Sexlab MCM. I have my config preset made up with my normal settings and those animations disabled, saves the need for the mods and the potential for issue. I did use the remover mods for quite a while until I saw the warnings about them. Again, it may or may not be an actual issue (I honestly couldn't say). So I went the safe way of the disable and save my config. Just thought I'd pass along the warning. :)
KCOLL Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 Are the xpsse scrip issues a problem if you don't use SOS anymore but have switched to the new gentleman? Anyone have any insights?

I don't know which mods would directly reference the default animations as they are pretty generic ones and there are much better available. Usually SL mods reference animation keywords and then SL decides what to play based on that, but I guess I can't say for sure it COULDN'T happen. My assumption in this case would be that animations would fail to play and it'd be pretty obvious, and in the meantime I'm saving a TON of animation slots by not having those crappy things loading in FNIS and Nemesis. I'm willing to take the chance on it I think. Until I break it and regret my life choices. 26 minutes ago, KCOLL said: Are the xpsse scrip issues a problem if you don't use SOS anymore but have switched to the new gentleman? Anyone have any insights? The script issues with XPMSSE go way further than SOS... in fact I believe the SOS scripts are probably the least troublesome as even the 'Lite' plugin keeps those. It's mostly the style scripts that cause Papyrus spam which potentially can wreck your save, so switching to the Gentlemen Schlong mod shouldn't matter in that respect. Assuming, that is, XPMSSE doesn't have other conflicts specifically with that mod which you should check on before using them together.

If you find New Gentleman is easy to load and use, I'm sure some information here would be appreciated.

It is time to grow up and get modern with this issue of equipping weapons. The walk/run speed mod was a game changer. A fantastic game changer. Look at xEdit to see how much the pace has changed. The author did a good job of tweaking the settings to make it realistic. Up or down depending on your actions. So much that when I enter a city, I walk everywhere. It now seems natural and fast enough. No need to run. Of course I have ND's public punishment to catch me if I run (sometimes) to teach me a lesson. To slow the game to a realistic pace, make you see the city and world. Sort of an immersion breaker not to get fatiqued in vanilla running all the time. Hope you enjoy.
