I've noticed a couple issues so far playing around with it, it seems like for the hypnosis quest it's only giving me the one introductory note to start the quest and get the trigger, then the first one which is giving gold to someone, but it never seems to give me a second one. I also notice that it doesn't seem like the corruption spells are showing up if you start as a male character even with the option enabled in the mcm. Also not sure if the mcm settings are working right for the start level of the hypnosis quest as well as the thing with the number of days to have the courier to come, but could be wrong on that. Can't really test it out too much as it keeps breaking after the first note after the quest one, even after waiting like several weeks, the courier never shows up. Also that first time you get the hypno note after the intro one, it shows a debug message that it is adding the note to the courier.

Always amazing to see an update to this mod!

One issue (but as always it could be me installing mods left and right):
After hitting 10, I got the letter. Did the quest and shortly after got another letter.
But after five days, nothing happens.
I tried switching needed time to a shorter one and event cheating with timescale, but nope.

Any chance we could get a console command to start the next part 🙂

Hmm. Odd, because it's working for me...

Quick sanity checks:

-Is this on a fresh save or an updated one?

-Are you changing cells at all, or waiting on the spot for ages? The courier sometimes will only spawn when you change cells. I found the most consistent way to spawn him was to wait in the Bee And Barb in Riften, then step outside. When I tried the same thing in Markarth, he never turned up.

Also, whoops on the debug boxes. I'll put out a little mini update to clean them up after we hash this out.

And no, console commands won't do it- the quest state is completely handled through scripting, not proper quest stages.

I also did not notice any changes in MCM, for the sake of interest I looked through additem, I did not find any new notes, although the file itself. The esp is larger in size than the previous one. Now at level 38, so far no letters have arrived. Maybe some other conditions are needed?

MCMs tend not to update unless you start a new save.

Happy to help with the hypno quest! and time to finally get into things, I'm so so excited >:D

Excellent work getting the update done, now please take some time to rest 😭 you've earned it

Ah, no resting quite yet... At least I budgeted an amount of mental energy to fix the inevitable game-breaking bugs in 1.8.0!

Yes, this was on a brand new save that I just had started. Did notice that the courier showing up was definitely kind of funky, I would typically like coc between riverwood and the whiterun entrance when I was doing my testing. And it definitely seems like the minimum level wasn't changing as showing the quest variables it wasn't actually going from stage 0 for CC_HypnoQuest_1 until I reached level 10 and rested a bit. Also I did notice one time that when I set my character to level 10 and it would have multiple messages to hand over from like dawnguard and some CC stuff, the mod I have that shows stuff getting added to the inventory did I believe show it showing up, but didn't actually show up in the inventory, though could possibly be mistaken on that, and only noticed that happen once. At the very least could never get the third I guess note to show up, only stopped on the giving gold one.

Quite much so. This feature needs YPS version 6.8.2 or higher, and there is no such LITE version yet.

If you have SL installed already, I recommend to use YPS full version anyway, since it has more features, gets updated more often, and is more stable.

oh... then I might had misunderstood what the lite was on YPS, I thought it was just normal YPS but without the quests ( I was trying to lower excess load on my game ^^)

Thanks for reply :3

The dress was almost fully functional (and custom made, by Audhol!) but I didn't have the drive to test just one new outfit on its own, so I left it unfinished and just didn't include the .nif and textures in 1.8's files.

I had completely forgotten about that hypno shader, well happy you got it integrated. I really am gonna have to find some time to setup an up to date modlist to give the 1.8 a whirl.

The whole princess outfit is released on Nexus so like I said before your very welcome to integrate it, dunno if all the smp flippiness will work on LE though?

Thanks jib! Really excited for this update. The hypnosis quest in particular is very exciting!

Oh, sort of like, instead of the curse progressing hour-by-hour, have it progress by gaining more corruption? Currently, there curse progresses with a counter that increases by 1 every hour, and when it hits (hours per curse stage) , the curse advances.

As of 1.7.6, it would be really easy to set that counter to not advance with time, but with corruption gains instead, so instead of X hours per stage, it's X corruption points per stage. Then reducing your corruption could slow your progress to the next stage (but never actually downgrade stage).

That could be a really interesting "gamemode" to have.

As for just modulating the time/stage with your corruption level, that's actually not as easy. I have direct control over that counter I mentioned, but the hours/curse stage variable is a bit less accessible.

However, I can't help but notice that this feature wasn't implemented this patch. Any reason why? I was really looking forward to it!

I can confirm I have the same issues with nothing after the first note triggering. I'm on a brand new save, and I was reliably able to get the courier to show up for the first two notes (go to chest & give gold trigger). After that nothing happens, even if I wait for a few days (I set the timer to 1 day).

I'm not sure if it's relevant but I'm seeing this in my logs:

Error: Unable to bind script CC_HypnoQuestPlayer (CC_HypnoQuestPlayer) to alias Player on quest CC_HypnoQuest_Manager (14C46B8F) because their base types do not match

It seemed okay in our testing, so I think it'll be alright! You lose the flippiness but the outfit still works.

Just didn't get around to it! It's still on the list, for next time.

So the give gold note is the first one of the repeatable notes, so the note generator script is getting jammed after doing one note.

I've attached the script with logging enabled. Can someone having the issue put this script into their Scripts folder, and try and interpret the popups to see where the quest flow is breaking?

The popups are a bit messy unfortunately, but I didn't expect anyone else to have to deal with them...

quick scripts.rar

I think the "unable to bind" thing explains another, unrelated issue I was having at one point and found a workaround for, but I don't think it's this. But I've added a fixed version of it too in that .rar, just in case.

here's a rough log of what the popups said, starting from opening the chest after having received the original letter already.

- opened chest, got: "registering initial timer for: 24" @ tirdas 6:59pm

- waited in 23 hours in inn @ tirdas 7:46pm

- walked around a bit, got:
 "main hypno loop triggering",
"current mission is: 0, a not in mail: False",
 "selectNextMission return 1, interpreting now.",
 "note given to courier",
" got next note to use, it's Book 14c46b92",
"no hypno mission active, proceeding with delivery",
 @ middas 6:58pm

- waited 1 hour in inn, stepped out and courier arrived, triggered note @ middas 8:15pm

- gave gold to someone, got:
 "finishing indicator quest stage: 101",
"mission finished, last three were [901, 902, 1]",
 @ middas 8:20pm

- waited 1 hour @ middass 8:30pm, then 24 hours @ 9:30pm, got nothing

- waited another 12 hours @ turdas 10:40pm, got nothing

- took carriage to Whiterun (from Markarth) @ fredas 11am for ~12 hours, got nothing

- fast traveled back to Markarth @ fredas 11:45pm, got nothing

maybe something weird about the 900 stages? no clue otherwise

Ok, that's weird. If the messages are stopping, that means the RegisterForUpdate loop is cutting out. Give this version of the script a go:

quick scripts 2.rar

It's not the 900 stages thing, at least. Since the notes are given randomly, I track the previous three done so that they don't repeat too often. The 901, 902 are just some dummy values I start it off holding.

So this version seems to have fixed the loop, I'm getting

main hypno loop triggering
current mission is: 0, a note in mail: False

every 24 hours, after the first time it becomes

current mission is: 0, a note in mail: True

But the courier doesn't ever show up, I just keep getting that message every 24 hours. I tried teleporting him to me and he doesn't appear, I think he's disabled/inactive in his current state. If I `enable` him he appears but doesn't have a letter for me.

I was able to trigger another delivery by setting cc_hypnonoteinmail to 0 manually via the console (it was still set to 1), and then waiting. After that note was sucessfully delivered & triggered, I checked the value again and it had remained at 1.

It looks like it is not getting set to 0, despite this snippet in `cc_hypnoquest_demonote_generic`? (bear in mind I am still looking at the old source files)

Event OnContainerChanged(ObjectReference akNewContainer, ObjectReference akOldContainer)

;	theBox.GetReference().AddItem(thisNote.GetReference(), 1, true)
	Game.GetPlayer().RemoveItem(thisNote.GetReference(), 1, true, theBox.GetReference())
	CC_HypnoNoteInMail.SetValue(0)

EndEvent

---

Ah, maybe you need to provide that event in cc_hypnoquest_qnotes as well?

Everything seems to have started, the menu is new, but the debug line does not work for me if it is enabled in mcm. Debug also stopped working when there is a book in the inventory. I tried both with a clean save and with a new game. With the new game, Anaita lost her dialogue about the note. Any ideas how to fix it?

Let's try this one. I've added CC_HypnoNoteInMail.SetValue(0) into this script, on mission start, as well. Let's see if that helps.

quick scripts 4.rar

(edit from later- swapped quick scripts 3 out for 4, since 3 was wrong)

And now you mention it, I'm worried that the quest notes (the QNotes) won't set it too- but we can cross that bridge when we get to it, let's get the basic notes delivering first.

Just for reference, the CC_HypnoQuest_DemoNote_Generic script handles the repeating generic notes, whereas the cc_hypnoquest_qnotes one is only used twice, for some special one-off events that happen after X number of generic missions are done.

Hmm, doesn't seem to have worked, I got the first "real" note, as before, completed the mini-quest, and then checked the value of CC_HypnoNoteInMail afterwards and it was still 1..

I tried changing the NPC's name to my own language in the bimboNames file, but after entering the game, the NPC is still not selectable after bimbo. And the previous makeup is gone now? My computer does not load the previous pink makeup after bimbo. Is this related to YPS? If I don't want to use YPS (I really don't!), how can I deal with it? Sorry my English is not that good

@jib_buttkiss

The Hypno Note system is working fine in my game, had to stop when I met the Master as this assumes you have become a Female while I started Male and wanted to see the transformation.

I am sorry if that offends anyone.

@jib_buttkiss As far as I can help, it seems to work fine for me too.
I had two debbuging boxes, one that says "letter to messenger" or something like that, and another saying "coutdown to 1". Just after this second box message, the quest continues, with another letter.
I'm on SE, by the way, may be the problem can be on LE version ? I don't know.

Thanks again for the update! I tried it out and the gender-swap and bimbo nails feature work well.

Two observations:

1) I noticed that Bimbos upon getting their nails (Bimbo stage 50) immediately are set to Bimbonailstage = 4.

Maybe it would be nice to let the Bimbo nails grow over time.

As I see it, it is not very straightforward to add gradual nail growth into the bimbomorphhandler script, since it works differently.

I might just add such a functionality to YPS: e.g. if current Bimbonailstage == 0, and the modevent is called to set it to =4, YPS will not immediately do it, but rather set it to =1, and add one additional nail stage once per 24h, until the value 4 is reached on the fourth day. For me this is easy to implement.

2) I noticed that the GenderBender message is just a single line. I think there could be some more versatility, but I could that just add to YPS: once the gender change modevent is called, one of the transformation "stories" will be played. There have already been several suggestions on this forum, and I might just include them if that is ok with everybody. So these stories could also be used if other mods want to use the genderbender modevent.

Anyway, good job! :)
