While using SE and launching the game through Mod Organizer, this mod is not detected for some reason and after exiting the game it even unchecks in the MO by itself. I have similar issues with a handful of other mods for some reason so if you could help me here, I would appreciate that a lot

If you're not on >1.6.1130, you might need BEES. Though I made changes on the most recent Trappings version (v2.1.2) that should make it work without BEES, that might be what you're missing for those other mods.

I was hoping that would do the trick but alas. I do use version 1.6.117 by the looks of it. And unfortunately BEES did not help with that, as well as ToF v2.1.2 is still unchecking itself after launch for some reason. Thank you for a suggestion though, I will keep looking into it

Devious Curses NG is able to equip devices from this mod onto the player. I haven't started the quest yet to see what may or may not break, but I figured this was an unintended side effect of how Devious Curses NG looks for and pulls valid devices to lock you in during gameplay. Just wanted to give a heads up! Absolutely loving the mod though, keep up the great work!
Racoonity, Serah Posted June 22, 2025 Posted June 22, 2025 (edited) version 2.1.2 Hi there, I'm in the first cell of the second quest with all 4 devices that were on the table equipped (I did escape the ropes and earplugs first though), but I can't interact with the barrier at all. I suspect a mod conflict with either "Better third person selection", "iActivate", or "Sure of stealing", but could anyone using these please tell me if they actually managed to escape. (I read about "No lockpick Activate", but I don't use it). I love this mod and I NEED to make it work ❤️, so I'll still try to figure out the culprit too. Thanks in advance. I think the locking earbuds in The Gordian Knot are not letting me hear the sfx for the minigame. And the x-cross is unbreakable so I cant just get around it. (EDIT) Having a controller plugged in and using Auto Input Switch (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/54309) messes with the struggle minigame badly. The hitbox for the barriers on the doors was kind of awful, so I changed it a while ago so that you can just interact with the door instead and it'll do the same thing. You should be able to just click the door and it'll do the same thing as clicking the barrier used to do. I seem to have forgotten to still make clicking the barriers themselves work, though. I also still need to add the difficulty override for the new struggle minigame, thanks for the reminder. I wasn't able to test the minigame on controller myself because I couldn't even get Skyrim past the startup screen with a controller enabled. I did have some people confirm that it worked with a controller (I think), but it's wasn't thoroughly tested yet. What kind of issues did you have? Yup, after disabling "Sure of Stealing" I can now interact with the door ^^ So, I guess that's another incompatible mod I guess. Maybe I can figure out a way to make it work while still enabled, I'll keep testing. Edit: Alright this is strange. I enabled it again in the same save and I could still interact with the door and get free, while the items on the counter were still protected against stealing. Idk, maybe depends on how the door was loaded. Anyway, next time I'll try with it enabled from the start again. Edit2: Ok, it wasn't sure of stealing's fault. It's working regularly now. MrDotCom Posted June 25, 2025 Posted June 25, 2025 (edited) I think it was specifically with the Auto Input Switch mod. In normal Skyrim if you have a controller plugged in you cant use the keyboard. This mod allows you to use both like a modern game. I think this screws with what input the Devious Devices struggling uses. So I've encountered a issue a few weeks ago and has yet to find a fix for it so I've been forced to completely stop playing my save Im doing this mod in and start over on a new save without this mod until I can find a way out of this issue. And Im hoping someone knows how to fix this or what Im doing wrong or even if there jus is a consol command I can use. I'm a fairly big noob when it comes to trouble shooting skyrim, so hoping to be able to get some help or even just tips on what I could try to fix it. Im currently having issues during the Gordian Bind where I'm in Irkallas bedroom and she has sent me to the chair to sleep. Which I do. Then everything goes black and I get some popups with text as expected. Once I've read through them, I come back to the room with both Irkalla and the Voice of Boethiah just standing in front of me. The Voice of Boethiah gives me the lockpick. But then both Irkalla and the Voice of Boethiah just stays there and Im stuck in the chair, unable to get out of it. I was really enjoying this playthrough and especially this mod, so Im hoping to be able to get some help so I can continue playing. 1

The visual cues should still play, though. I also still need to add the difficulty override for the new struggle minigame, thanks for the reminder. I wasn't able to test the minigame on controller myself because I couldn't even get Skyrim past the startup screen with a controller enabled. I did have some people confirm that it worked with a controller (I think), but it's wasn't thoroughly tested yet. What kind of issues did you have? Just tested without MinAI and CHIM, it worked! So yes, it seems those mods are causing the CTD somehow.

Relatively stable compared to other devious quests, but still ran into frequent minor issues that required reloading. The difficulty for the first 2/3 were very good, but after finding azura's shrine, things got more frustrating and i had to rely on guides. the story was pretty good, and i really really look forward to future epilogue content with irkalla, shes great. favorite parts: the nordic ruins with the tentacles and stuff were amazing and awesome and so atmospheric. such an incredibly creative use of the devious devices to prevent yourself from seeing the lovecraftian horrors. i just loved this part so much! never did figure out the logic behind the gates in there opening and closing though. the characters are well written and creatively designed irkalla masturbating while i was blind and deaf was really funny the whole cave was really well made and looks pretty. boethia's shrine especially, the music there was a great touch. talking to her about her being your mistress at the end was nice. seriously cant wait for the epilogue to be expanded. the first quest, a snare to loosen, is well polished and incredibly good. people had actual voices! sure they werent great quality, but its so nice to have. Specifically for difficulty i would recommend: use lighting to help guide players to items on the ground that they need that arent specifically meant to be well hidden, and increase the amount of light in the mushroom house in general. this can apply to a few situations, but i think its really needed for the dremora prison trial, where the embalming tool is very hard to notice, and i had no idea it was there until the guide pointed it out. perhaps the staves would benefit from some more guidance as well, maybe something more to hint to the player that they are important, because i eventually had to use the console after searching all over the place to find the magelight staves for half an hour. also never realized i could use them without the collar getting angry, cause i had no reason to believe it wouldn't punish me. maybe an easier, early puzzle that requires one would help with that. heating the gloves in the dremora prison is very unintuitive the lockpick splinters in the dremora dungeon end up on the ground while wearing mittens, and are difficult to find and often just disappear. should avoid that happening. maybne remove them dropping on the floor alltogether the vial of poison in the first trial is too hard to find. even knowing that it existed, i had to spend 5 minutes looking for it, and double checking that it was actually in the dressing room The storage room in the arcanaeum has spider webs, which is a huge red herring for finding mephala. id recommend removing them and instead placing some spider webs around the entrance to the sunken cave. getting past the rock wall to get into the nordic ruins where azura's shrine is was difficult, and i was confused why a blindfold and earplugs weren't letting me past and i needed a guide. is confusing combined with the hints for the puzzle right after where you actually do need the blindfold. maybe give the player a clear, specific place to stand, like some kind of circular, carved stone, but otherwise it might be my fault for not reading the riddle more closely. Encountered lots of minor bugs like getting caught on stairs while walking in a cutscene, NPCs not continuing dialogue, irkalla having invisible wrists, not being able to select magic glowing things on doors, or items not being removed/added when they should be. the biggest issues i ran into were: mephala didnt appear when finding irkalla's soul gem. had to find her ref id via funclist, select her via prid, and then run the enable command to get her to show up. after talking to her, had to add the fake soulgem to my inventory via the console, since she didnt give it to me. can provide a save file for this bug if you want one. couldn't pick up the fork when trying to escape the cell at the beginning of the gordian knot quest. had to tcl into the wall to select it after the guide said i needed it. any attempt to melee attack will trigger the collar, but will immediately play the message that you got control back, but you can no longer move and you just stand there. other collar triggers work fine. Any theft near irkalla makes her immediately try and kill you, including "stealing" the food you both just sat down to eat. id suggest just making it so taking anything in the entire mod doesn't count as stealing. getting removed from devious furniture by irkalla would often not work, and then the game would get stuck trying to continue while im still bound. aroused animations(triggered by plugs, piercings, ect) playing while bound to devious furniture, which makes the furniture dissapear while the normal animation plays. i assume this is an issue with devious devices itself and not your mod. can't pickpocket the cuffs off of irkalla like the guide says you can in the third trial, have to kill her to get them. and if molag bal controls you to make you kill them all, then the game gets stuck and doesn't progress after killing them all. suggestions: enable fast travel to and from the mushroom house after the quest is over. you can lie to Jurgin and get their bread in order to make two quest potions. taking this into account could be funny, maybe have him call you out on it. make dying to irkalla in the grand finale count as disabling you and let her take the soul gem, instead of forcing a reload. lots of stuff i could suggest for the epilogue can be seen in other mods like captured dreams and lauras bondage shop, but key things i would suggest to make it really special would be: restraints with special names from irkalla with their own descriptions, with a magical bent to them like the glowing harness from the first quest. seriously, the more the better. irkalla providing enchanted restraints that help you in combat. some mods provide enchanted plugs, but theres so much more that can be done here. dont ignore her alchemy skills, and have aphrodisiacs and stuff integrate the lewd marks mod if its a kink your interested in, though making the dependency optional would be nice. quests to deal with whatever favors you may owe to clavicus vile and mephala turn the collapsed basement into a dungeon/playroom Edited July 13, 2025 by LeilaTwentyTwo 4

Things you can try, in order of mild to drastic: 1. Talk to her, you should be able to talk from in the contraption if she's in range (or console target and moveTo player if she's not). 2. Target her with console, disable followed by enable. 3. Skip the dialogue, use console command setstage FrayEQ2 351 followed by StartScene FrayEQ2BedroomFunScene. If that still doesn't work things get tricky. Last chance for reasonable console fixes is that she might be stuck in combat, so target her with console, use stopcombat followed by repeating StartScene FrayEQ2BedroomFunScene. If that doesn't work you'll need to post me debug information before I can guess any more: use sqs FrayEQ2 and tell me which stages between 300 and 370 are set, possible send me a papyrus log. People have posted this multiple times, but I haven't been able to reproduce the issue on my side yet, so it's hard to fix. Broken fork: a bit of a shot in the dark, but if you mean you could see the fork but it wasn't interactable and you're on the most recent Skyrim version, check if you have a "Skyrim - Patch.bsa". This is a file from the "Best of Both World Patcher", and you should remove that BSA since you're now on a different Skyrim version. I encountered that same issue when I updated to 1.6.1170 a few months ago and spent ages and half my sanity trying to track down why the forks were suddenly broken. Broken collar on melee: Not sure. There's no special handling for melee vs the other triggers, so I suspect some kind of mod conflict. Would need more info. Stuck contraptions and broken animations: most of this is on DD's side. I've been busy fixing those in DD NG recently. Should be better in future DD NG versions. Third trial issues: will have a look.
shifter174 Posted July 23, 2025 Posted July 23, 2025 Hello, wondering if anyone can help me. I'm stuck and cant seem to continue, Irkalla seems to be stuck. Basically after the nightmare sequence on irkalla's room my character wakes up and the dialogue from boethia plays out, however, irkalla its still in the room and after Boethiah stops talking nothing happens and if i try to interact with the device it says "This device cannot be interacted with". I can move my camera and even interact with Boethiah and the wardrobe besides him. I have tried loading previous saves and doing some actions differently, however I always end up here. Broken fork: a bit of a shot in the dark, but if you mean you could see the fork but it wasn't interactable and you're on the most recent Skyrim version, check if you have a "Skyrim - Patch.bsa". This is a file from the "Best of Both World Patcher", and you should remove that BSA since you're now on a different Skyrim version. I encountered that same issue when I updated to 1.6.1170 a few months ago and spent ages and half my sanity trying to track down why the forks were suddenly broken. Broken collar on melee: Not sure. There's no special handling for melee vs the other triggers, so I suspect some kind of mod conflict. Would need more info. Stuck contraptions and broken animations: most of this is on DD's side. I've been busy fixing those in DD NG recently. Should be better in future DD NG versions. Third trial issues: will have a look. I didn't saw Frayed post at first, but doing the "Disable and Enable" worked for me to fix my issue above irkalla stayed awake and standing but I regained control of my character and I could gather the items from the room using the furniture around the room to stay out of sight. So anyone that its stuck after the nightmare sequence at irkalla's room, just disable and enable her in the console so you can move on.
