When you also remember that Mephala is associated with Spiders and has the epithet "Webspinner", well that's a hint:
If you look around, you see that there are spider webs in the shrine, which in Skyrim are destroyable/burnable and you have a staff that can burn stuff. Once you have done that you should be able to just walk through the wall.

Huh, funny. I destroyed

Spoiler

the webs because the place was messy and I wanted to clean it up. My old lady would have a lot to say about me clearing in-game interiors yet being absolutely unenthisiastic about house chores. But I couldn't go through any wall. And quite frankly it's not really that intuitive that I sould. At this stage I don't believe this complication is even necessary. After all, player has been in a fetish back and forth for hours at this point. My intellectual capacity was quite low at this point TBH.

So I hit the halfway point and a little past.

bugs:

1. when returning to the x it didn't cleanly un-equip devices. They were invisible while I was in the x but after i got out and followed her the dress that I had on was visible again. When typing inv on character they were still equipped as well.

2. when I sat down to eat I lost control and had to re-enable through zaz's mcm to talk to her and progress quest.

3. idk why walkers face had the black face glitch. none of the others ive run into has had this issue. (liens high poly female npc replacer, high poly npc replacer resources, baka populated npc black face fix are mods I have affecting npcs. none overwrite deviously accessable/higher prio)

4. I was able to enter the top of the mushroom house after getting the key from walker. It said the door was barred and then I walked right in. After I unbarred it the message saying it was barred remained but I could go in and out. It say its barred and I'd enter the load screen.

5. after doing attuned fork I went through the section where guide says to jump in water. You can actually go through an exit to a different cave and not come back in. It had been a bit since I saved so thats where I ended the session. So mcm with a debug teleport back to the cavern or block that somehow like the collar forcing you back or some shit.

Feedback:

1. Quest assumes your dragonborn. So might wanna make the quest where you become dragonborn a requirement or maybe change dialogue.

2. The red fog that makes you bind yourself to pass. It's cool but having it happen every single time gets old and slows down progress. Maybe have it go away after 1 time or just make it like the dark circle locks where it requires a specific item and then goes away?

3. I hit a different option but when you hit I need to cum I hope something happens.

4. maybe a early to find key for the fitted ebonite devices so your not spending that much time struggling out of them.

5. maybe an option to tease/have fun with the guy who watches you whos name I forgot. He can't touch you at the start but you can him.

6. give him an option to follow you instead of standing still, maybe make him lose the trousers and use the aroused idle of him strokin his meat

7. in the mention of a debug mcm have options to replace keys and knifes and stuff back at their location. sometimes carrying them as intended in quest the fly off and I lose them or they phase through a floor or wall. More of a feedback to part 1 but man my fork flung off and I took me like 5 minutes to find it.

8. quest is very long but for immersion you shouldn't be able to leave. I'd have rather had to solve shorter multiple puzzles with her regularly re-abducting you when you slept

9. I offered the dremora in part one my body later. Idk if thats in part 2 or how to trigger it if it is. Just a reminder we can make that deal and I didn't see it mentioned in the guide.

Hi, I'm stuck at the first of the 3 trials, since I didn't know what to do I went to read the guide, it says to take Lotus Extract, but I don't see any Lotus Extract anywhere. I tried to put myself in the inventory with the command a bottle of Lotus Extract. but it doesn't interact with anything. what am I doing wrong?

Hint: check the small side room with the ebonite restraints very carefully. If you still can't find it:

Unless Frayed changed it in the meantime: behind the chest.

Finally had the chance to play the new version.

A great mod, you can be proud of what you have achieved.

Feedback

- The overall story and narrative were a lot of fun. I do agree with others about dialogue checks, but I personally wouldn't have played this as a non-DB character and its only makes sense if you play as one. Save this for your DB character. That said, I had already defeated Alduin and Irkalla still acted like I hadn't - dialogue checks here would help, maybe acknowledge Miraak too? And if you have defeated them all, well just make vague references to destiny and further adventures.

- I really liked the three trials, I saw the first one as a vision of not being able to escape Irkalla and the second one as a vision of the long term ending of Bal (maybe?) but it felt like there could have been more narrative based around them and about how they're maybe possible visions of your future if you make the wrong choice. I was unclear about the final one - was it actually Molag Bal or a vision of it? It didn't make it clear but I thought it was a vision of Molag Bal and warning against him because agreeing to be his champion appeared to do nothing. Which made sense, though the walkthrough seemed to say otherwise.

- The stuff with Irkalla torturing you was probably the hottest part for me. I really appreciated the dialogue too, since she wanted you to submit and wasn't just straight up going to rape you.

- The puzzles were a lot of fun, though having a walkthrough this time really helped as it is still easy to miss things. The only one I couldn't work out was the last one, the dremora servant kept saying it was fine but I couldn't get through the barrier and had to tcl. Only time I really had to.

- There were very inconsistent problems for me with auto-movement stuff. Sometimes it worked fine, others it didn't. I did run with TDM though, so it was down to that. Console commands got me through it.

- There didn't appear to be any closure to some of the threads from part 1 - particularly tricking the dremora so he doesn't fuck the PC. I think this is understandable. But wasn't Clavicus Vile the one who removed your piercings for a price? Never comes up again. I would potentially just rewrite that part in Part 1 and remove references to Vile, rather than give the player the wrong impression.

- The main thing I would like to see is a small epilogue and one or two bad ends. Option to execute, have her as a follower (really, nothing special needed though) or enslave Irkalla would be nice. I like the bad end for Molag Bal, but it'd be neat if it goes back to the crystal vision except its real and you can't escape. Same, maybe if you wake Irkalla up or alert her you get a bad end and maybe a couple of repeatable events like seen in the vision. The only way out is just to get to the menu.

Overall, I think the mod is fine as it is. But a few dialogue updates/checks, updating the endings and polishing and it'll go down as a bondafide LL classic. The post/bad ending stuff felt very like "I'm tired and just want to get a version out" lol.

I'm finally getting round to trying the next quest, but I've run into an issue fairly early on. I'm getting a CTD as soon as I try to put on the hand cuffs or the ball and chain in the first room of the second quest. I assume this is an issue with DD in general and not just this mod, but I can't find anything about this anywhere else. Anyone else encountered this?

I'm no expert on SE, but if I had to guess this is a HDT problem (the chain devices are known to cause some issues in that regard). My guess is you have an improper version of HDT.

You want to ask google as follows:

site:loverslab.com chain devices ctd

You're not the first person with this issue, so you'll find the answer in no time. Start with HDT.

I could be wrong, but HDT chains from devious devices have never really worked on SSE. I'm surprised they haven't been removed.

I think this isn't true. I don't think Frayed would even consider using those devices if they weren't stable enough.

Thank you, thank you!

It was an HDT issue. And thanks for the search tip. LL's search function is decidedly lacking as I couldn't find any of those posts just through the site, but I found them instantly with that.

So far, the quest has been great. I think I'm about halfway through.

Spoiler

I cleansed Azura's shrine. Kind of by accident. I was just exploring and didn't realise that's what I was doing. I spent a while trying and failing to get rid of the Hobble Dress, though. I still haven't found the key for that, and just had it automatically removed by Azura after cleansing her shrine. If anyone has a hint or tip on where to find that key, I would appreciate it, as I assume I'll need to put the Dress back on to navigate the mushroom again.

I have now hit the 50% mark and the associated message, and wow this quest is incredible (and also, holy shit, this is only 50%?? This mod is huge!)

The one thing I would say is:

Spoiler

If the intent is to pickpocket Irkalla for the her to get the second potion, like I did, make sure you can't pickpocket other stuff. Like the collar she's presumably wearing, and the invitation that puts a bottle of wine in my inventory, that I assume is meant for a post quest thing? And if that isn't the intent, I don't know what it is, but that probably shouldn't work if it's not intended.

I'm now soft locked.

Spoiler

As with others, at the start of the Trial of the Toy, Irkalla won't recognise the clothes are all on the table. Only the gloves lock into place and the clothes and shoes don't. I've tried rubbing them both on every inch of the table and nothing seems to work. 'showquesttargets'/'sqt' also isn't showing the Trial's questid so I can't even console command my way through it. Was a fix found for this? Searching through the topic I can't see one.

I've gotta say, You've really outdone yourself with this questline. You use game mechanics that I wasn't even aware existed and the entire atmosphere feels like it could've been added within the game on release (apart from the subject on hand that is ;) )

Although the first puzzles were great I did have some trouble sometimes with a few glitches. The common errors that were earlier mentioned like the autowalk not always working correctly. (mostly on bumpy terrain I got stuck a lot) and sometimes the quest wouldn't progress properly. To avoid any spoilers for other players, here are my thoughts:

The first room

Spoiler

X-cross and everything worked perfectly. The bottle was a really neat trick! If however, you are a little too eager to add the other devices you can softlock yourself. if for instance you put on the chackles before you've cut the rope gag you can't talk to the dude (he is so forgettable I forgot his name 😅), hence you can't get the lockpick and then you're stuck. (or am I missing something??). Anyway, great start to the mod! I was instantly drawn in to the story

Alchemy Room

Spoiler

Honnestly, I looked for so long for the stupid notes it drove me mad. That is until I finally found the last one hiding in the bukkit. The quest really thingles my sense of achievement. Afterwards I was a dumbass and tried so hard to add all the ingredients in the pot next to the cooking pot using the physics engine. I'm embarrassed to say that I had to look at the walkthrough in order to figure out that I needed to cook the damn potion the normal skyrim way. The hints could also be better for the basic ingredients IMO. But hey maybe that's just me being stupid and not knowing which items gives which effects. Otherwise still great so far.

The cave

Spoiler

I was quite lost in the cave, to be honest. It took me a while to find Walkers hut. Once I did I got treated with the sight of Walker in the devious dwarven device. very nice indeed. Her cryptic messages didn't help much, although I did find the screaming cave before. (I'm a simple man, I see a cool glowing mushroom, I just have to check it out.) The screaming/sounds where odd but I didn't connect the dots at first. While trying to get in the the shroomhouse I somehow managed to enter the shroom from the top while the bar was barred. That is definitely a bug. After I removed the bar I could exit and re-enter whenever I wanted. I just got the message pop-up that the door is barred from the other side each time I used that door though. Not a game-breaking bug. Overall nothing game-breaking in the cave

Other places were relatively easy to find. I did manage to find the captured Deadra first. Since I had a full lockpicking skilltree the master lock gave me no problem. I also stumbled into the wet tentacle cave by accident and thought I had broken the cave. Turned out it was intentional later on. Didn't know stuff like that was possible, great design and use of the game mechanics again!

Might I say that the scene itself is really well designed and looks gorgeous! Great work on that part!

The shroom house

Spoiler

Once I entered the shroom-room, I looted everything I could find (which turned out to be a good Idea for once when I came across the staff puzzle). As other people said, eventually the magic locked doors got annoying once you had been trough them nine times and had to equip en escape the devices the same amount of times. Might be better to only lock them once, but that's just me being lazy I guess. (And others with me, it seems) Afterwars I was a little lost on what to do, so I looked at the walkthrough again and that got me back on track with the straightjacket reference. In hind sight, the hint you gave (those which are weak of mind i.e. crazy) was really obvious. The straightjacket door was probably the most annoying since it takes 3-5 times of struggling to get out of it each time. But I read already that you wanted to change that, so kudos to you!

The arcanaeum/the nightmare cave

Spoiler

Once I got in the arcaneaum there was so much stuff I could interact with. It was honestly a bit much, especially since most of the stuff is either never used or used at later stages of the quest. (might just be me being a total hoarder in Bethesda games though...) Hints here could be a little more straightforward. Or may I suggest separating the arcanaeum into the area where the blade is and an area where the other stuff is. Still a cool room though. Once I opened the door and saw the black book I was instantly like, hell no. Not the creepy tentacle guy...

Unfortunately for me, it was dealing with the creepy tentacle god and especially his minions (freaking HATE Lurkers with their wiggly mouths and disgusting appearance). Safe to say, my sex drive was far to be seen during these scenes. But hey to each his own I guess. Since I got thrown out of the cave about a million times I really needed better hint with this one. Only after looking at the walkthrough did I manage to understand that I needed the whole package for my character to go through there. Might be helpful to more clearer hints here. (Might also be me panicking when I got jumpscared by the lurker and deactivating 4 of my 5 brain cells because of that.) The fight scene/ destruction scene was really cool. I would've loved to see some tentacle action there (if you know what I mean ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) *wink*)

The arcanaeum two: Electric boogaloo

Spoiler

Once the show was over and I was flopped out of the dungeon I was pleased to see that yee 'ol lurker was no more and went on my mary way back too the arcaneaum. Where I did the very cool and intuitive thing with the flame and the fork, afterwich I had a hot fork whit what I had no idea what to do with. After some fooling around I decided to look at the walkthrough again and found out that the blood thingy and the water didn't work for me. After a reload of an earlier save everything worked fine and I got the sword and stuck it in the altar. (Which I strangely had a much harder time finding then the I had with the water cave with the staff puzzle.)

The Trials

Spoiler

Trails 1:

Ow boy.... was I in for a treat with this one. After tieing-up my PC with every possible device and failing the quest over and over I honestly gave up for a while. Only once I excedently stublemd across the whine bottle did I understand that I had to poison her. It took me a good while to find the dark bottle on the dark floor but I eventually found it behind the chest in the wardrobe room. Job done, on too the next.

Trial 2:

After at first accidently cheesing the quest and boinking the deadra on his head and being really disappointed in the simplicity of the trial and thinking i must've done something wrong, I managed to reload and actually get tied-up. It was a lovely struggle that reminded me a lot of the first quest. The added time window with the crystal was a really nice touch. It really gave a sense of urgency. I found it a bit disappointing that the struggle animations for this one didn't seem to work, but I'm sure that minor bugs like that will be ironed out on full release. Aside from this is was smooth sailing for me. The use of the pull shout was a nice mechanic, same for the fire and de mittens (although that must've hurt for my PC, but constantly being tied in streaneaus positions is also quite painful, so I don't mind it that much)

Trial 3:

Welp sold my soul to Satan, i hope there are no consequences for that...

The best scene

Spoiler

The bedroom scene was amazing. From the moment that you need to scramble back to the cell, till the moment you must escape again. Everything worked great and was flawless. Good writing, good scenes and is very hot in general. As others have said, it would be cool if we could repeat a similar scene after the quest ends; This time on a voluntary basis. She clearly likes the PC, and to be honest, weirdly, I like the elf too.

The hidden room

Spoiler

Since i already found out where this was i knew where i had to go. Unfortuanly for me, skyrim decided that gravity needed to change and i did not need the ball and chain, instead I needed to just swim. After a reload this was fixed and the ball made me sink again instead of acting like a skippy ball and causing ctd. After finishing the puzzle with help of the clues (which were cryptic, but i eventually got them in the right order). This is the first moment where i just couldn't go further without using the console. For some reason, once i destroyed the cobweb with the staff and followed the ant/spiders, i couldn't pass trough the fake wall. I had to use tcl to go trough and talk with mephala. I wander what would've happened if i choose to take the real crystal, but i hated Molag Bal so much that i wanted to cheese him. (and maybe, just maybe, I had a soft spot for Irkalla and her dedication for science and philosophy)

The End

Spoiler

With the fake crystal in hand, I tried to get through the barrier. I couldn't... Though luck I thought at first, but then I remembered the locked-up Deadra kaburgglebur, or whatever his name was. Once I talked to him and found all the stuff I needed and eventually equipped everything that was acquired I crawled towards the barrier aaaaannnddd....

...Nothing??? Still, no hallway pass for the barrier??? I tried and searched on the forum. Turns out this is a common issue. Nothing a little TCL can't resolve. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to meet either of my Deadra buddies to help me out of the gear. I did however successfully crawl through the maze, got killed by Irkalla in my petsuit and contemplated my life decisions for a while. Once I remembered I had all my gear I realised I actually had to fight her. So one save rollback later I was up and out of my bondage gear and back in my trusty orcish armour just about ready to fight, I was ready to kill her...

Man is she strong... The first time I killed her barely clinging to life myself she freaking respawned on me and murdered me. Tree tries later I realised I needed to speak to Molag Bal and bargain. At first, he wouldn't even talk to me, but after a reload and another hairy fight it finally worked. Unfortunately, Irkalla and her little minion didn't care to listen to his HALT command and seemed to be just as stubborn as the PC. Needless to say, she killed me mid-conversation. After some more console shenanigans and activating God mode, I was finally able to successfully talk to Ol' Molag in peace and end the quest. (P.S. The runic bondage during the fight is a nice extra challenge)

The quest ending still needs some work, in my opinion. It feels a bit like a loose end, to just forgive her in the midst of the cave and then just leave. A bit of small talk afterwards in her (I presume at least) home would've been a great end. Now it feels a bit rushed. But that's just my humble opinion :), don't let others tell you what your mod should and shouldn't be 😄

Overall a very smooth experience with some minor kinks (pun intended) here and there. I really do think that the ending needs some extra rizz, But now I am just nit picking. I really enjoyed playing the mod and was stunned by the fact that this mod is here free for us all to enjoy. You are the true master of DD quest mods in my honest opinion!

Keep up the good work Frayed.🎉

Well, I think I’ll drop this mod.
I wanted to try and like many others here, I block the game with the X-Cross.
I manage to remove the armbinder. That’s after it blocks...
Hiding the gargoyles does nothing.
The orb says to remove the mask to remove the gloves but to remove the gloves must go in the device opposite, but as the gate is locked, we can not.
The other objects are useless!
Result, stuck!
As for the Walktrought, the solution is too vague.
It doesn’t really say what to do!

Posted

I managed to move forward and remove almost everything.
I still had the gloves, the gag, the percings and the plugs.
But I will stop and drop the mod.
The puzzles are really twisted from twisted!
The orb does not help at all, these clues are far too vague, we do not know what to do!
As for the walktrought and its solutions, it’s worse!

Escape Mitten>Escape Harness>Escape gag>space this>Disable barriere>unlock grille!
To me, all it means is "Deal with it!"
I don’t call it solutions at all!

In short. I give up! This mod is more on my nerves than anything else and good luck to those who want to test it!

There's also videos btw. I agree the steps are vague but those are supposed to be that way. Watch the videos underneath that if you're stuck.

I didn’t pay attention to the videos.
But I managed without, looking hard.
Now I’m on the second part The Gordian Bind.
And I don’t know what to do about the fence.
I look at the solution, it says you have to carry the devices, but should you take them and equip or put them somewhere?

You gotta equip all of them to get the barrier to go away. Get the other guy to bring you food and use the fork as the lockpick. If push comes to shove, just use console commands to get out of there. TCL will turn off character collision.

I carry the equipment and try to activate the barrier and nothing. It always repels me.
And tcl doesn’t help me.

You're game might just be bugged then. Make sure everything is equipped, including the earplugs.

Now I'm stuck however. Clearly the game doesn't progress until you find all the required notes. Fair enough, so how in the hell do I find the 3rd riddle note? I have searched everywhere in the alchemy lab area but can't find Riddle Note 3. I even re-did the whole deal thinking I smacked it outside the map, but even then I can't find it. The walkthrough for The Gordian Bind either needs pictures or just in-depth description besides "on a desk in this building." No offense of course, it just seems this note is impossible to find.

For my part, I use additem, the power to find objects.
And setstage to validate the order after.
It also seems to me that the author has said that version 2.0.2 is in beta so bug issues that can prevent progress.

On the other hand, what must be done to no longer have the DDBelt animation that appear instead of other animations?
Because I am at the cave with the m onstres that should not look, the problem, I can not have the other animations because of this one.

I just finished the mod.
I had to cheat at times because there were some bugs that prevented us from moving forward. Very happy to be done.

First part:
-It’s the least exciting but easier and more stable.
We were looking, we can find all the clues and there are videos to help.

Part II:

-The Gordian Bind.
It is definitely more passionate with certain quests. But the most riddled with bugs. It is much tougher.
I often used the commands as setstage to finish some quests that were buggy. TCL to pass through the walls to go to certain places and prevent the necklace makes me turn around!
At times, some things solutions were a little too vague.
I admit I screamed a little.

Suggestion:
Fix bugs that prevent advance in some quests.
It would have been nice to add tentacle animations in the quest with the sanctuary of Azura. Genre with the apocrypha animation of Roshzima.

I’m not ready to redo this mod anyway.
