Yes, it's compatible with SE 1.5.97. That's still what I'm using. Crash is almost certainly a DD / SMP issue.

Sorry, that one flew under my radar. Could you tell me what platform / DD mods / versions you're running, and which devices your character has equipped while they're supposed to sit down? There are some devices that disallow sitting, but those shouldn't be equipped during that section.

Unless you immediately grabbed the pet suit and equipped it the instant Irkalla unlocked you, of course. But then I doubt you'd be surprised that the game wouldn't let you sit in a chair 😜 

As a workaround, use the console command "setstage frayeq2 364" when you're supposed to sit down.

Sounds like the quest script got interrupted or a scene failed to start. Since you got the fade to black and heard Irkalla arrive but didn't get teleported yourself, probably the former. This can be caused by a few things, but main suspect is the papyrus stack getting dumped due to script overload. Check your papyrus log for the words "dumping stack". If you find any then you'll need to fix your mod setup - something is overloading the script engine and it's breaking things left and right. If so, that's not something I can fix on my end. You can post or send the log to me if you'd like me to have a look.

same issue here but I just crash to desktop instead.

Okay, I figured out my issue, I needed to update FNIS. I thought the mod was going to use the animation packs I had and the mod page didn't say I needed to. I feel like a idiot, but live and learn I guess lol.

No worries, there's a tonne of comment traffic. And, apologies. I wasn't really that clear about the precise nature of the issue I've got. I can get into the chair just fine, its when I wake up following the nightmare that I have an issue. The spirit appears and gives me the lockpick but then continues to stand there. My character continues in an infinite struggle animation, and pressing the interact key just prompts "This device cannot be interacted with" in the top left corner no matter what I do. This goes on indefinitely, causing the softlock. As per the DDs equipped at the time, I've only ever tried it both with and without the rope harness equipped (and the gag added when you sit in the first place). 

I'm playing on AE 1.6.640. DD 5.2.7 DDE 6.4.6. The latest TOF patch and DDNG 0.2.9.7 

Gave the setstage command a go to no avail, but as I covered above I think thats my fault. 

I also just want to say thanks. Its been a lot of fun following the narrative and engaging in the puzzle component/atmosphere. You've clearly put a tonne of effort into the mod and it shows.

He gave me the hint to equip a gag, I equipped the fitted one from the mod. Afterward there was no new dialogue option for him to inspect me any further.

Script overload usually doesn't lead to crashes, but you can get both crashes and script overload from similar mod issues. Loading screens tend to be hotspots for crashes in general in my experience. If you can consistently reproduce the issue, try to get a crash log of it happening. I'm fairly certain it's not this mod causing it, but it could still be some unintended interaction of this mod with another one.

This mod does not ship with any animations of its own, and generally missing animations would only lead to T-posing, not script issues. But running FNIS whenever you add/remove/change any mods involving animations is generally good practice.

Ah, different chair. I thought you meant the slightly earlier section where you sit down with Irkalla. The setstage was for that part. Workaround for the part you just described is "setstage frayeq2 400". Hm. There's literally only one line of scene/script code between you getting the lockpick and the spirit disappearing, and it only adds a single item to a chest. There's not much room for something to go wrong in between. If you can reproduce it, get me a papyrus log, it may give me a hint. Otherwise just use the workaround.

How bizarre. Does he still give you the old dialogue that suggests equipping a gag?

No, only the dialogue to ask about the orange barriers.

My only guesses are that I may have too many mods that add various dialogue options, so the one needed is being shoved away (I've had it happen before with another mod) or something bugs out with gag speak from DD in general

I am honestly not sure I updated a few things it didn't work then FNIS and it did. here's my log if you want to look it over from the time I tried to launch it last.

Hey, having an issue since trying to play through v2.0.3
So far I've been able to reach Irkalla's bedroom, and make it to the point where she releases you from the X-Cross to go sit and talk, but instead of her going downstairs to sit, she either stands completely still in the bedroom with only 1 dialogue loop available where she insists you go sit down, or she attacks me for what I think is theft. All of the devices so far have been marked as "stolen" so I think this might be aggroing her?
Edit: to clarify, even when I sit down, she does not join me downstairs

on AE 1.6.1170.0.8, with the latest install of SKSE, DD, etc.

Is there a way to bypass this issue for now?
Edit 2: For now toggling tdetect has let me continue progressing.

I'm really sorry for the silly question but;

 

How does one 'Give up' at the start of Gordian Bind? I have tried nothing and I'm all out of ideas!

 

No but seriously 😅 I was stuck for a solid 20 min because I was stubborn, not wanting to use the walkthrough blog... until I did, but I can't find any 'give up' option no matter what. Pressing 'use' simply gives a message that the furniture can't be interacted with, and I've tried all the options when attempting to unequip all the gear Irkalla puts on you.

Could Better Third Person Selection be a culprit? I tried to disable it's functions in the MCM, but it didn't do anything.

 

SIDENOTE: I had this problem in A Snare to Loosen as well, not being able to use the pillory to get out, as in the walkthrough video. There, my workaround was to use the DD function to manipulate the lock so that it opens itself after a while, allowing me to continue. It worked fine, but not addressing the issue has come back to bite me!

 

Won't anybody give this helpless lady a hand? 🥺

The cuffs had some funky SMP interactions for a while, which might still be the case in DD 5.2 but should be fixed in recent DD NG versions. That could cause CTD, though it's not very likely. And although they're useful in general, Papyrus logs don't help much debugging CTDs and I don't see anything pointing to a root cause in the one you posted. Try getting a crash log.

I changed the cell ownership data last patch, so you're probably on the money with your guess that this is some kind of unintended theft interaction. I'll have a look at it.

You're supposed to get a message menu with options like this:

whenever you're on the cross in that section and press the default interact key. The selection mod doesn't matter - the script checks for the interact key without having to aim at anything. If you're not getting that menu, then something has gone wrong. Did Irkalla finish all of her scene dialogue ending with her locking the door, walking away and you getting the "Quest Started: The Gordian Bind" notification?

She finished her whole spiel, told the guy to watch me, locked the door and said something like "better be safe", left and I got the quest popup.

Pressing the (controller) use key makes a small sound, letting me know that the game has registered my action, but no message menu like in the picture you sent.

 

I'm using Auto Input Switch and my own controlmap.txt (Notable about this txt file: It didn't have a key set for "Activate" for keyboard, only controller. Before uploading this particular file here I added keyboard "activate" to RShift, which did NOT show up in the in-game controls menu and had no impact on the quest mod)

 

I also have Interactive BDSM, but I'm not tech-savvy enough to know if it matters

Getting a crash when trying to enter the fungal cave. I get the loading screen and soon as the loading screen goes away it crashes

I too had this bug. It occurs while the purple smoking individual is standing there saying "get to work at getting free, here's some help, now go." She says that, and the dark elf just stands there like an idiot and the purple smoke lady does too. And the "chair" you are in DOES NOT unlock. It does, just hang, like indefinitely. My work around was to use Babo dialog to restore controls, then use the guide to proc the next stage to happen by doing it, then after that, the chair started spawning on my character where-ever I was, then I was able to struggle out of it the normal way, after which, the quest moved smoothly. (until the bit I mentioned above, and that was not actually very hard to fix, just tedious.)

 

Here's my load order just in case it helps.

I have te same problem. CTD enterering funal cave. Snare to loosen finished with no errors, Gordian Bind started, wordked fine until enering fungal cave.

Skyrim Anniversary GOG (1.6.659). Clean save.

I tried the old record made in the fungal cave with the same result. Other locations work.

okay, sorry for the double post: but for some unknown reason, turning off "SPID destructible skyrim" actually got me to the first room after sleeping in the INN

It crashed again not to long afterwards but hey progress ha

Same issue, only the cuff has the problem. And if I try 'tcl' to cross the sealed door, there will be a notice on top of the screen "you feel compelled to.." and the game crashed too. No crashlog is generated in the SKSE folder, totally no clue what caused this.

So I finnished it again and since you requested suggestions for Irkalla's endgame here's mine: I'd love to play the game from the first trial of Bohetiah, but with reversed roles.

In v 2.0.3:

 

- At the beginning of 'Gordian Bind' when Irkalla tells my character to stop she stops, but when Irkalla tells her to come back the forced movement doesn't start. Instead I can move freely and the quest does not continue.

- The game crashes when I try to enter Fungal Cavern. This also happened when I tried to enter from the other side when getting lured in by the bounty quest after ' A Snare to Loosen'

 

Both issues work when I revert back to v 2.0.2 so I don't think it's something with my other mods.

Why after I completed the first mission, the messenger didn’t give me anything when he came for the second time, and the mission interface didn’t update the mission.
