adoiad Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 I recently got a new pc and redownloaded skyrim le. My last pc ran modded skyrim quite well. With my new pc I have lost my saves and have to start over which isn't a big deal to me however when I go to start a new game with all my previous mods I get ctd. I would appreciate any assistance at fixing this. I'm new to posting load order, papyrus logs, fnis etc. as I usually solve everything myself but am now at a loss after trying all I can think and not finding anything out of place. how should I go about posting my load order or whatever may help determine the cause of the ctd, Thanks in advance for any aid.
adoiad Posted December 7, 2021 Author Posted December 7, 2021 Oh one other nugget of info, I use nmm community version.
myuhinny Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Moved out of general discussion area and moved to the skyrim LE tech support area.
myuhinny Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Where do you get the CTD at? Is the CTD before or at the beth logo is it in game? For load order you can try this. https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/How_to_copy_your_load_order There is also TES5Edit that you can run and it'll start loading all of the stuff that you have installed and will stop if it hits an error in your load order look at the error fix it and restart TES5Edit and repeat this till it can load up without any errors and then go try your game again. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25859
adoiad Posted December 7, 2021 Author Posted December 7, 2021 heres my load order I hope. If it shows my inactive plugins it'll look like a huge mess but I assure you my game ran fine on my old rig. The ctd occurs at the loading screen after selecting new game. I guess this usually means too many animations however I have animation limit crash fix and as I said my game worked perfectly fine before with all of my current animations. adoiad Posted December 7, 2021 Author Posted December 7, 2021 And here's my papyrus log. These are always super uncomprehensive to me and not sure it'll be any help but there it is anyway. Papyrus.0.log
Psalam Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 I love a good papyrus log as much as the next guy but they rarely tell you the cause of a CTD and never when the CTD occurs before you actually start playing the game. In no particular order the three most common causes of your problem (not including Windows or others messing things up in the background that is beyond your control - mostly): 1) missing masters. This is when you load a mod that depends upon another mod but fail to load that mod. For the most part your mod manager should alert you to this problem. You can always double check by running LOOT. 2) having SE/AE mods for your LE game. Most mods are specific to the 32 bit or 64 bit environment. Double check that all your mods are for the version of Skyrim that you are running. 3) the animation issue you mentioned. This is uncommon since the animation load fixes that have occurred in the last year or two. However, if you want to run FNIS and post the output here in a spoiler I'll happily look and see if there is any evidence that there is an issue.
adoiad Posted December 7, 2021 Author Posted December 7, 2021 I'm not sure how to post fnis output however when I run fnis nothing looks out of place whatsoever. It looks the same as every other time I ran it on my old pc. Same with my masters and LOOT. Everything looks normal. Perhaps it has to do with running the game on my new drivers/gpu but that sounds like a far stretch.
Michele Magus Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Sorting your load order can help, sometimes. LOOT can be useful, but always think about where you want some mods even after sorting.
myuhinny Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 @adoiad Have you tried starting a new game without any mods installed? (Make sure to run FNIS after removing all of your mods) If not I would suggest trying that and seeing if the game still crashes if it does then you'll know that the mods are not the cause. If you don't get a crash then you can try this. Install a few mods at a time making sure that if one has a master that you also install that and then try your game and keep going in and out of the game installing a few mods each time till you hit a crash then start removing one at a time from the last group you installed till you find the culprit to the crashes.
adoiad Posted December 7, 2021 Author Posted December 7, 2021 Well I went and wiped all mods to completely default skyrim and it loaded so now comes the fun process of selectively adding little at a time and seeing what works all over again. Thanks for the advice folks now it falls to me to delve into the joys of remodding skyrim. Wish me luck and patience, a lottttt of patience.

In other words, take it slow and steady, testing as you go. It is easier to troubleshoot a game with 10 mods than it is to troubleshoot one with 110 mods.
Andy14 Posted December 8, 2021 Posted December 8, 2021 @adoiad An immediate CTD after a "new game" is often caused by an incorrect skeleton. Install XPMSE Skeleton and overwrite the existing skeleton. Then run FNIS. Pay attention to error messages from FNIS. Your loading order is not correct - see e.g. USLEP's place. This esp should be loaded directly after the DLC. The best thing to do is to use LOOT to sort your loading order.
